Weingut Neumeister Sauvignon Blanc Ried Moarfeitl 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Vulkanland Steiermark, Straden
"Neumeister's 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Ried Moarfeitl GSTK offers a clear, complex and dense nose with fine soil spice and lots of iodine. Delicate on the palate, yet with substance and plenty of salt—most of all in the finish—this is a remarkably purist and fresh Moarfeitl with personality and a lot of finesse and elegance but also complexity. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Grafenegg in September 2022." 93 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Antoine Sunier Morgon 2020, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais
"Deep violet. Primary, mineral-tinged cherry, black raspberry and violet aromas take on a spicy nuance with air. Offers densely packed yet lively dark berry, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors and a touch of cola. Betrays no rough edges and shows excellent clarity on a strikingly long, subtly tannic finish that emphatically echoes the floral and mineral notes." 93 Josh Raynolds, Vinous
"Antoine Sunier’s Morgon hails from two lieux à dits, les Grands Cras and Croix de Chèvres, with all of the vines in excess of sixty years of age. The wine is fermented in cement vats with carbonic maceration and then racked off to old Burgundy casks for elevage. The 2020 Morgon is a beautiful wine in the making, delivering a superb aromatic constellation of black cherries, sweet dark berries, pomegranate, fresh thyme, dark soil tones, coffee bean and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, sappy and soil-driven, with a beautiful core of fruit, ripe, seamless tannins, lovely focus and grip and a long, beautifully balanced and complex finish. This is outstanding juice in the making." 93 John Gilman

Louis Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernieres 2020, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais
"The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, spices, rose petals, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with impressive reserves of ripe tannin and sapid fruit, it's seamless and lively, concluding with a long, resonant finish. As ever, this is built to age, and it will reward patience, even if its youthful charms are considerable." 94+ Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate
"Interestingly, the 2020 Javernières is a full point lower in listed octane than the Côte du Py in this vintage, coming in at 13.5 percent alcohol. These vines are forty years of age and planted in the vineyard’s deeper, clay and iron-veined soils. The bouquet is truly stunning this year, offering up complexity, purity and a subtle sense of sappiness that is bound to grow as the wine blossoms. It delivers scents of red and black cherries, pomegranate, a touch of red plum, gamebird, woodsmoke, a complex base of soil tones and delicate topnote of fresh thyme. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full, with a great core of fruit, superb soil undertow, excellent complexity, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, tangy and perfectly focused finish. This is a young wine, but so beautifully balanced that it is already very tasty, though the structure starts to build a bit on the backend with extended air. Ten years down the road this wine will really be reaching its apogee of peak drinkability, but it seems likely that it will be too tempting in its youth to not see many bottles gobbled down in the coming few years. Great young Morgon." 94+ John Gilman

Pierre-Marie Chermette Domaine du Vissoux Beaujolais Les Griottes Rosé 2020, 0.75L
Gamay from Beaujolais, Beaujolais
"Bright and energetic on the nose, displaying ripe tangerine and strawberry flavors and suggestions of candied rose and succulent herbs. Fleshy and dry on the palate, offering sappy red fruit and melon flavors and a refreshingly bitter suggestion of orange peel on the back half. Finishes long, smooth, and broad. This is a rosé that is made for lighter summer fare (salads, charcuterie, etc.), but that can stand up to lighter meat preparations." Importer Notes, Weygandt Wines

Armand Heitz Chevalier Montrachet 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny Montrachet, Burgundy
"This is aromatically quite similar to the Perrières with its nose of matchstick, mineral reduction and markedly floral scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to remark upon. The wonderfully refined and intense medium weight flavors possess only average density though the bone-dry, firm, youthfully austere and stony finish displays superb length. Note well that at least some patience will be necessary as this is presently very tightly wound." 94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

The rich and equally attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that exude plenty of minerality on the dusty, even chalky, but not really austere finish that goes on and on. Subtle and delicate nose opening on gleams of a true Chablis minerality. The limestone supports every second of the tasting and brings its unmistakeable profile until the very last perceivable notes on a beautiful finale. Henri Perrusset Macon-Villages 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Macon, Burgundy
"Henri Perrusset’s vineyards and home are located in the small town of Farges-les-Mâcon, on the northernmost spur of the limestone subsoil that characterizes the appellation of Mâcon. Farges is not far away from the village named (believe it or not) Chardonnay. The limestone in Farges is more marly than the compact limestone farther south in Pouilly-Fuissé. It is hard and intensely white, but breaks apart into small pieces and it is loaded with quartz and marine fossils as well. This type of soil is easier to work despite all the stones, provides great drainage for the vines, and gives the wines their grainy minerality. Our Mâcon-Farges bottling comes uniquely from a parcel of old vines, while the Mâcon-Villages is a custom blend of all his other holdings around Farges. These are Chardonnays with the ripeness and intensity level of a Pouilly-Fuissé or even a Saint-Aubin, with the particular goût de terroir of Henri’s corner of Mâcon." Importer Notes

Domaine Laporte Sancerre Le Grand Rochoy 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Loire
"From silex soils, the 2020 Sancerre Le Grand Rochoy is produced from the oldest vines of this prestigious slope. The nose is intense and complex in its earthy-mineral expression that is perfectly interwoven with discreet but deep, refined and elegant fruit aromas. Pure, fresh and refined on the palate, this is a dense, round and complex, persistently aromatic, saline and savory Sancerre with fine (gin-like) bitters on the finish. The wine was vinified in stainless steel and barrels for one year and aged in the dark-tinted bottles for another six months before the release. This is a really excellent, mouthwatering 2020 that is less rich and powerful than Les Garennes but significantly more complex than the 2021 Rochoy. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in May 2022." 93+ Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Francois Chidaine Les Bournais Montlouis Sur Loire 2020, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Montlouis sur Loire, Loire
"The 2020 Les Bournais is a silky, seductive wine that retains a sense of shape despite its ripeness. The appellation of Montlouis has lots of clay-flint, but this is clay-chalk, and the result is a round yet focused style with fine length and line. The barrel fermentation and maturation (just 10% new) doesn't impart any flavor but adds to the roundness and gives support to the wine. Fully dry, you can expect ripe apple, pear and a gentle lick of sweet brioche on the medium-long length. Sourced from clay-limestone soil. Drink: 2022-2034." 92 Points, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous

Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chataneauf de Pape La Crau 2020, 0.375L
Grenache / Mourvèdre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

Marked by ripe cherries and hints of complex garrigue notes on the nose, it's full-bodied but also really elegant, with fine-grained, silky tannins, ample concentration and a long, surprisingly crisp finish. 93-95 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, May 2022

Guillaume Gilles Les Peyrouses Blanc 2020, 0.75L
Marsanne / Roussanne from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône
"From the vineyard of Les Peyrouses, a site just east of Cornas in which Gilles also owns 150-year-old Syrah (see below), this new cuvée comprises two-thirds Marsanne and one-third Roussanne, from a third of a hectare’s worth of vines planted between 2009 and 2013. Its soils of sand, clay, and large galets render a white wine of formidable amplitude but excellent focus, given shape by a touch of appealing bitterness on the finish. This 2018 underwent alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in well-used 500-liter barrels, and was bottled without fining of filtration." Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Jean-Louis Chave Sélection Côtes-du-Rhône Mon Coeur 2020, 0.75L
Syrah / Grenache / Mourvèdre from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône
"Though the Côtes-du-Rhône is technically made from purchased fruit, Chave generally has financed his sources and takes their grapes by a métayage (sharecropping) arrangement. He has more or less complete control over the farming, which is organic. The grapes are shipped to Chave’s facility inside his Saint-Joseph Le Clos site in Mauves. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks and élevage is in an assortment of new and old barrels, demi-muids and large foudres at the magnificently restored cellar at Le Clos." Importer Notes

Lionel Faury Saint-Joseph Vieilles Vignes 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from St. Joseph, Rhône
"Inky magenta. Intense black and blue fruit, floral botanical herb and spice qualities on the deeply perfumed mineral-accented nose. Broad and fleshy but lively as well, offering palate-staining boysenberry, kirsch, candied violet olive paste, chewing tobacco, and exotic spice favors that become livelier with air. Marries richness to energy, with a deft hand and finishes superb, spicy persistence, well knit tannins and resonating mineral character. I consistently find this bottling to be amongst the best of this sprawling appellation. In fact, it's usually at or above the quality level of quite a few examples of Côte-Rôtie." 95 Jay Raynolds, Vinous, Dec 2022

"The 2020er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese GK was made from shriveled rather than botrytized fruit and was fermented down to noble-sweet levels of residual sugar. It offers a most gorgeous, superbly complex, and rather subtle nose of minty herbs, candied grapefruit, fine honeyed peach, anise, smoke, and herbs. The wine proves much richer and riper on the palate, where plenty of exotic and ripe fruits join the party. Knebel Winninger Uhlen Riesling Grosses Gewachs 2020, 0.75L
Riesling from Winningen, Mosel
"AP: 13 21. The 2020er Riesling Uhlen GG, as it is referred on the main part of the label, is a legally dry wine which comes from old vines in the grey-slated Laubach part of the vineyard and which was fermented and aged on its fine lees in stainless steel (75%) and used small oak barrel (25%) for 9 months. It offers a beautiful and subtle ripe nose made of grapefruit zest, minerals, melon, pear puree, earthy spices, and fresh minty elements. The wine proves beautifully pure and smoothly dry (rather than bone-dry) on the palate and leaves a great complex feel of fruits, herbs, and fine spices in the long finish. This great dry wine combines depth and presence with elegance and finesse. What a great success! We would not be surprised if it eventually turns out to be a classic, especially as the wine reveals its depth." 94+ Jean Fisch & David Rayer, MoselFineWines.com
"The fine, peachy nose leads you into this massively structured and really concentrated Mosel GG, which is very mineral, with austere elegance at the very long finish. Drink or hold." 94 James Suckling

Riesling from Mertesdorf, Ruwer
"There is a distinct difference between the three Kabinetts, and the Abtsberg evokes the image of an abbot with wide girth, ie the fuller body. The same can be said for the flavour, where the taste of orange reflects slightly riper fruit, but is never lacking in zest, and with a subtle nuance of bitter lemon, if that mundane association may be allowed. Smidgeons of butterscotch and cinnamon may be far-fetched, but add to the overall complexity." 17.5/20, Michael Schmidt, JancisRobinson.com

Guido Porro Langhe Nebbiolo Camilu 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont
."Don’t be fooled: this is a simple Langhe Nebbiolo in name and in price, but there is much more to it. The grapes are sourced from parcels adjacent to two legendary Barolo crus in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba: Lazzarito and the fabled Vigna Rionda. Having tasted Porro’s Baroli from these two sites, I infer that the Lazzarito portion provides this Nebbiolo with its surprising finesse, in the form of plush, toothsome fruit and a lovely perfume of dried flowers. The Vigna Rionda portion, conversely, supplies power and earthy grip. You’ll find enough structure to take this rosso seriously, but not enough to keep you from gulping it down unabashedly." —Anthony Lynch, Kermit Lynch Imports

Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Tuscany, Tuscany
."A forceful and profound Guidalberto that tells the story of the 2020 vintage with a very dark profile reminiscent of black cherry, black plums, dark chocolate, burnt sage, and marjoram. Fresher nuances emerge slowly with the passage of minutes in the glass, proceeding to a progressive balsamic character accented with dried white flowers and mandarin juice fused with green tones reminiscent of peppermint. Full bodied, powerful, and layered on the palate, it demonstrates grace and character within a considerably languid disposition. Gorgeous right from the start, but better after 2024." 94 Points, Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com

Grosjean Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz 2020, 0.75L
Cornalin from Valle d'Aosta, Valle d'Aosta
"An alpine-inspired blend of pepper-tinged florals, sage and flinty crushed rocks gives way to notes of lavender and raspberry as the 2020 Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz blossoms in the glass. This fleshes out across the palate with silky textures and ripe red fruits under an air of rosy inner florals. Its brisk acids maintain marvelous freshness, lasting throughout the long finale, where violet shades and hints of blueberry linger. The Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz is built on finesse yet has depth and underlying power." 92 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous

It’s texturally deep and almost salty in character, with gobs of tart red and black currants under an air of violet inner florals. Residual acids keep the expression lively and mouth watering through the finale as the 2020 finishes with hints of licorice and a dash of sour citrus. Descendientes de Palacios Corullon Bierzo 2020, 0.75L
Mencia from Bierzo, Bierzo
"I was blown away by the 2020 wines in barrel in June 2021 and found the 2020 Villa de Corullón very ready, open, expressive, floral and ethereal. It destroyed the idea I had of a warm and ripe 2020. Ricardo Pérez Palacios told me he was thinking of bottling the 2020s earlier, as they didn't need a long élevage, just nine or 10 months in barrel. The wine is pale, the palest Corullón ever, with 13.7% alcohol—perhaps the vines got blocked and didn't develop more color compounds or sugar. The wine makes me think of a red from Jura; it has a different profile and is more delicate, ethereal and full of light and energy. Pérez, who hates comparisons with other regions, couldn't stop saying that it felt like a Morey Saint Denis! It's all flowers and red fruit, with a lot of super fine tannins (the 2019 tannins are rougher) that are round and give it a velvety texture with no rusticity—elegant and balanced. There is a nice balance between tannin and acidity, something this has in common with the 2019, which makes the vintages quite unusual, because being warm, the wines show balance. Today, it feels more like Moncerbal than the Moncerbal bottling; nevertheless, Corullón is around 40% from Moncerbal. ... It has to be my favorite Corullón to date. 22,183 bottles and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in October 2021." 97 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Tameran Vijariego Gran Canaria Blanco 2020, 0.75L
Vijariego Blanco from Gran Canaria, Canarias
"Vijariego Blanco, also known as Diego, is thought to have been introduced in the Canaries from Andalucía and is not a mutation of Vijariego. There are multiple spellings, most notably Vijariego and Vijiriego, even Bujariego in La Palma, but this name is not allowed anymore. It’s a grape with high acidity and lowish alcohol, so it’s often used for sparkling wines. The 2020 Vijariego Blanco is only 11.2% alcohol with a low pH of 3.14 and notable acidity, 7.5 grams (measured in tartaric acid per liter), so it's a light and sharp wine true to the variety. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in 500-liter oak barrels, where it matured with lees for 10 months. It's floral and vibrant, the latest-ripening grape here, with more freshness. It's a wine that should develop nicely in bottle. This is a little shy compared with its siblings, but it's a wine that will gain with time in bottle. 1,320 bottles were filled in June 2021." 93 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Dominio de Anza Parcelario I Diego Magana 2020, 0.75L
Mencía / Bastardo / Garnacha Tintorera from Bierzo, Castilla Y Leon
"There is no 2019, so we jumped to the 2020 Dominio de Anza Parcelario I from a vineyard in Otero on slate soils that fermented with 100% full clusters and matured in one 225-liter oak barrel. It's different from the wines from Valtuille and has more freshness. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (12.7%); if Valtuille is more Rhône, this would be more Burgundy. I like this a little bit better than the El Rapolao. Unfortunately, there are only 300 bottles of this—it's what the vineyard delivers. In 2021, he used two plots and produced a little more wine, but he doesn't yet know if it's going to be blended or kept separate, perhaps with a more defined name." 96+ Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Antidoto Ribera del Duero 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León
"I also tasted an unbottled barrel sample of the 2020 Antídoto, a blend of 96% Tinto Fino and 4% Albillo that had a short maceration and has been in 600-liter oak barrels (only 5% of them new) since January 2021. It looks like a superb vintage for this wine that still shows the wild and faintly herbal side that makes me think of a Northern Rhône—juicy and very fine with chalky tannins and a dry and varietal finish. This is a little like 2018, approachable and understandable from early on. Volumes will grow in 2020." 92-93 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Dominio de Pingus Ribera del Duero PSI 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León
"The unbottled sample of the 2020 PSI feels young, juicy, very fruit-driven and clean. 2020 was an unusual vintage, first of all because of COVID-19, but it was a year with lots of light, plenty of flowers and a beautiful spring. They were able to harvest quite early and finished two days before the abundant rains (except in Soria, which is a different story) that started on the 20th of September. In Ribera, there will be two different harvests: the wines before the rain and those from after. So, this is very healthy, aromatic and floral, with a spark of freshness but also ripe and round. It's going to be a crowd-pleaser. It has a bright ruby color, with some 10% Garnacha. It somehow has less Tempranillo character. Volumes are similar to 2019, with around 350,000 bottles that they expect to bottle around June 2022." 92-94 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

La Vizcaina (Raúl Pérez) Bierzo El Rapolao 2020, 0.75L
Mencía from Bierzo, Castilla y León
"There is more freshness in the 2020 La Vizcaína El Rapolao, where I even found notes of eucalyptus. It's medium-bodied and has fine tannins, very tasty and balanced. There are two new plots in 2020, so they produced some 7,500 bottles. He wants to reach 20,000 bottles here, and there will be a white Rapolao from a plot that he planted with Godello." 96 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

La Vizcaina (Raúl Pérez) Bierzo Las Gundiñas 2020, 0.75L
Mencía from Bierzo, Castilla y León
"The 2020 La Vizcaína Las Gundiñas has a new plot, a west-facing vineyard that is steeper and cooler. Pérez likes Gundiñas and Rapolao in warmer years like this. In 2020, 50% of the wine matured in 2,000-liter oak foudre and the other half in used 500-liter barrels. It was harvested much earlier, and the wine shows more freshness even if it shows more tannin today. He likes long macerations (40 to 45 days) and works toward having tannins and weight in his wines. Some 6,000 bottles were filled in August 2021." 95+ Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Raul Perez La Vizcaina Lomas de Valtuille La Del Vivo 2020, 0.75L

"The 2020 La Vizcaína La del Vivo is super harmonious, tasty and balanced. The wine matured in two 2,500-liter oak foudres, and a small part fermented and matured in amphorae with skins. It's varietal and expressive and comes from two plots, one with sandy soils and another one in Cacabelos with some boulders. There's always a small percentage of Doña Blanca in the blend. It's very dry and has a chalky texture. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2021." 95 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Raúl Pérez 'Ultreia La Claudina' Godello Bierzo 2020, 0.75L
Godello from Bierzo, Castilla y León
"They have lowered the alcohol and ripeness in most of the whites, but some vineyards are more difficult than others... The 2020 Ultreia La Claudina comes from a plot on sandy soils that needs higher ripeness to avoid excess bitterness. In 2020 it matured in 50% new barrels as they wanted to see how the wine behaved. It has power and consistence, but the style is a little different from what the wine was before, a little creamier and marked by the élevage. It's more exuberant and quite the opposite from the rectitude of La del Vivo. There are some 2,200 bottles from 1,700 liters of wine." 94 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Raúl Pérez Bierzo Ultreia Saint-Jacques 2020, 0.75L
Mencía from Bierzo, Castilla y León
"They had not bottled the 2020 Ultreia Saint Jacques yet and were still waiting for the labels (and they label the day after they bottle), so I caught an unbottled sample that was very tender and fruit-driven, primary and quite open. He used more stems and full clusters in 2020, and since 2018, they have removed the percentage of white grapes that used to be included in the wine. It's a little more Mediterranean, with aromatic herbs and a more powerful palate..." 93-94 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Alegre Valgañón Rioja Blanco 2020, 0.75L
Viura / Grenache Blanc from Rioja, La Rioja
"The 2020 Rioja Blanco from Alegre Valgañón is composed from its customary blend of ninety percent Viura and ten percent Garnacha Blanco. The wine is bright and youthfully reticent today, but with some coaxing offers up a lovely bouquet of tart pear, lemon, white soil tones, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and impeccably balanced, with a fine core and soil undertow, lovely focus and bounce and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This is approachable today, but still very much a puppy and I would tuck it away in the cellar for five or six years and really let it blossom properly! Alegre Valgañón Rioja Tinto 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo / Grenache from Rioja, La Rioja
"The house red 2020 Tinto showed superbly. It's a blend of Tempranillo from the Obarenes Mountains (Sajazarra and Fonzaleche) with 20% Garnacha from Cárdenas on clay and some 5% white that has 14.2% alcohol but feels perfectly balanced and integrated. It has a serious, harmonious nose with complexity and depth but also youth. It has a soft and juicy texture with focused and clean flavors, finishing with an almost salty twist. Super tasty and easy to drink! Great value too. It matured in a mixture of 1,000- and 3,000-liter oak foudres and 225- and 500-liter barrels. 22,000 bottles produced. Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de Pecina Cosecha 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Rioja Alta, La Rioja
"The 2020 regular bottling of Rioja from Señorío de P. Peciña is a lovely wine, offering up plenty of nicely ripe fruit and a fine underpinning of soil tones. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of black cherries, cigar wrapper, Rioja spice tones, a nice touch of soil and just a whisper of American oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and generous at the core, with good mineral drive and grip, moderate tannins and a long, juicy and very well-balanced finish. Bodegas Olivares Altos de la Hoya Monastrell 2020, 0.75L
Mourvedre from Jumilla, Murcia
"I was less taken by the oak in the 2020 Altos de la Hoya, produced in a more commercial and mainstream way from ungrafted old Monastrell vines. But there's good fruit and depth here, a medium to full-bodied palate and fine-grained tannins, and the wine has the stuffing and balance to overcome the creamy oak with some more time in bottle. It matured in a mixture of oak vats and barrels for some six to eight months." 90+ Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Scar of the Sea Pinot Gris / Pinot Noir Co-Ferment Bassi Vineyard 2020, 0.75L

"Grown above the sandstone quarry at the Bassi Vineyard, this block has an ocean view. 1 ton of Pinot Gris was picked with ½ ton of Pinot Noir. The Pinot Gris was all wholecluster and we destemmed the Pinot Noir on top of the Gris. The wine was fermented for 11 days, then gently pressed in the wooden basket press. Bottled 8 month later without fining or filtering." Producer Notes, Scar of the Sea

Scar of the Sea Vino de los Ranchos Chardonnay 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Santa Maria Valley, California
"The 2020 Chardonnay Vino de los Ranchos is a new cuvée from Scar of the Sea, from own-rooted vines planted in 1973 near Bien Nacido vineyard. Still in barrel on the lees, the first sneak peek is promising. The nose offers singular aromas of panna cotta, Greek yogurt and yellow orchard fruits, and the palate is rounded and savory with a juicy bite of acidity and a creamy finish. This is due to be bottled in February of 2022." 92-94 Points, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate

Tatomer Gruner Veltliner Paragon 2020, 0.75L
Grüner Veltliner from Santa Barbara County, California
"The 2020 Grüner Veltliner Paragon stands out because its distinctly savory, phenolic personality. Dried apricot, sage, menthol and earthy undertones all run through the 2020. At times the Paragon almost feels like a red wine, such is its presence and overall feel. I was blown away by the wines I tasted with Grahama Tatomer this year. Tatomer has thoughtfully expanded his range over the last few years. At the same time, he has become more selective about what goes into the vineyard designate whites, choosing to use the rest for his entry-level Hinter der Mauer, which is easily one of the very finest values in all of Santa Barbara. Tatomer has acquired a reputation as a Riesling specialist in California, indeed he is one of the variety’s foremost exponents, but he is every bit as skilled with Pinot Noir. These new releases are superb across the board." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Morgen Long Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon
"The 2020 vintage of Seven Springs Vineyard chardonnay from Morgen Long was raised in sixty percent new oak this year (new Damy five hundred liter puncheon) and forty percent in a one wine three hundred and fifty liter cask. The wines comes in at 13.2 percent this year, with ninety cases produced. It offers up a beautifully gentle oak shading in its bouquet of pear, almond, chalky soil tones, chamomile, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and rock solid at the core, with lovely mineral drive and grip, zesty acids and lovely length and grip on the complex and very nicely balanced finish. This is a new oaky example of chardonnay that is also long on soil signature. Fine juice." 92+ John Gilman, View from the Cellar
"I tasted the grey label version of the 2020 Chardonnay Seven Springs, which opens with flinty reduction, along with savory herbs of chive, green apple, and lemon verbena. The palate is fresh with chalky texture, lemon curd, white flowers, baking spice, and a hint vanilla bean on the back end. Seth Morgen Long began making his wines in 2014 and is exclusively dedicated to the production of Willamette Valley Chardonnay. Originally from North Carolina, his family relocated to the Willamette Valley when he was nine. Having worked for Domaine de Montille in 2012 and 2013, he took their model for winemaking and returned to the Willamette Valley. Seth had been making his wines in the Lingua Franca facilities until this year, when they sold to Constellation. He is currently operating out of Michael Etzel’s space down the road from Beaux Freres. His style continues to evolve, although the wines remain about purity and focus, and they are well worth seeking out." 93 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com
