Canon 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"The brilliant 2020 Canon looks set to surpass both the 2019 and 2016 as this estate's finest wine since the post-war period, though like many of the best 2020s, it will require more patience than its 2019 counterpart. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries and raspberries mingled with notions of exotic spices and iris, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with vibrant acids and beautifully polished, chalky tannins. Pure and precise, it concludes with a long, mouthwatering finish. This beautifully constructed wine communicates the essence of this superb limestone terroir, and it will be worth a special effort to track down and cellar." 100 William Kelley, Wine Advocate

"The 2020 Canon is a wine of mind-blowing purity and nuance. It has been nothing less than thrilling on the three occasions I have tasted it so far. Intensely saline and chalky, the 2020 possesses spellbinding finesse and nuance. Red-toned fruit, crushed rocks, white pepper, rose petal and mint all come alive in the glass, buttressed by clean saline notes that extend the mid-palate into the finish. There is simply nothing like great Canon. And the 2020 is unquestionably a great Canon." 100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"Stunning, grab-a-friend, insanely good wine. The structure and tannic grip manage to be both barely there and tightly controlling, giving form and space for the raspberry, blueberry and pomegrante fruits to crowd in the palate, followed by oyster shell salinity, pummice stone scrape and electic points of mandarin peel and lemon grass. Finished with pure, no-messing-about juiciness." 100 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

Domaine de Cambes 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, Bordeaux

"The 2020 Domaine de Cambes is a gorgeous, luxuriously deep wine done in Francois Mitjavile's gently oxidative, concentrated style. Sumptuous black cherry, plum, chocolate, espresso and licorice all meld together. Pliant and supple, with generous fruit, Domaine de Cambes is so expressive today. Like many 2020s, it is a bit tight, but that should not be an issue in another few years' time. The purity of the flavors is compelling." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"Coming from the Côtes-de-Bourg appellation on the Right Bank and an estate owned the Mitjavile family of Le Tertre-Rôteboeuf , the 2020 Domaine de Cambes is another beautiful wine from this team that has a singular style. Redcurrants, plums, mulled cherries, spicy oak, cigar, and chocolate notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with supple, soft tannins and a great finish. It's a softer, more approachable wine compared to the more structured Roc de Cambes, although both are brilliant wines." 93 Jeb Dunnuck

Domaine de L'Aurage 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux

"I was pretty much blown away by the quality of the 2020 Domaine de L'Aurage, and this is one serious Castillon that readers should jump on if given the chance. Offering a brilliant nose of ripe currants, black cherry liqueur, sweet tobacco, and spicy oak, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, and beautiful tannins. An absolutely stunning wine, as well as the finest wine I've tasted from this estate, it will evolve for 15 years or more." 95, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2023

Haut-Brion 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Pessac Leognan, Bordeaux

"The 2020 Haut-Brion is a blend of 42.8% Merlot, 39.7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17.5% Cabernet Franc, harvested from 7th to 29th September, with an estimated alcohol of 15% and a pH of 3.8. Opaque purple-black colored, it leaps from the glass with a first wave of vibrant black raspberries, ripe blackberries and mulberries scents, followed by a powerful core of warm cassis, dark chocolate and violets, before bursting into an array of crushed rocks, iron ore, tree bark and black truffles notes. The concentrated, densely packed, full-bodied palate is not in the least bit heavy, delivering a refreshing backbone of red berry and dried herbs suggestions, framed by seamless acidity and very finely grained tannins, finishing on an epically long, fragrant earth note. Simply stunning." 98-100 Points Lisa Perrotti- Brown, The Wine Advocate

La Chenade Lalande de Pomerol 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux

"Aromas of orange peel, black berries, flint and spice follow through to a medium to full body, with firm and racy tannins and a pretty finish. Drink or hold." 93 James Suckling

"Made from Merlot grapes picked between the 9th and the 15th of September and Cabernet Franc grapes picked on the 16th of September, the 2020 La Chenade expresses a vibrant and elegant bouquet with aromas of dark berries, violet, rose, dark cherries and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, it’s a juicy and elegant wine with a fleshy core of fruit and a fresh finish. As usual, this estate has produced excellent red wine from sandy-gravel soils." 92+ Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate

"The 2020 La Chenade was very promising when I originally tasted it from barrel. In bottle since May, it has developed a lovely nose with melted red berry fruit, wild mint and light fennel scents. Nicely delineated and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Extremely pure, very harmonious, this Lalande-de-Pomerol discretely crescendos towards its very satisfying, quite structured finish. Superb." 92 Neal Martin, Vinous

Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Nuits St. Georges, Burgundy

"Very typical of Nuits-St-Georges, with a dark plummy fruit, notes of earth and mineral, and an almost savoury edge to it - slightly rustic, yet still very refined. The grapes from this 0.4ha parcel were fermented as 60% whole-cluster, which imparts a slight edge of herbs or menthol to the wine, but this amplifies in a good way the slightly sauvage character. Delicious." 94 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter Magazine

"Background hints of wood and menthol are present on the super-spicy aromas of black cherry, raspberry and a plenitude of floral wisps. The sleek, intense and very rich medium weight plus flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel that possess notably better punch on the youthfully austere, balanced and impressively persistent finale. This is sufficiently compact that it's going to need at least a few years of keeping first." 92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Buisson Charles Morey St. Denis Les Louves 2020, 0.75L

“From a 50/50 blend of Les Millandes and La Riotte. Ripe aromas of poached plum, various dark berries and pungent earth leads to more energetic and more finely detailed if less powerful medium weight flavors that also possess a seductive texture on the youthfully austere finale. Lovely.” ♥ 90-93 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Domaine de Villaine Mercurey Les Montots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Mercurey, Burgundy

“The domaine produces this inky, dark, super-ripe villages "Mercurey from rented south-facing parcels not far from the premier cru zone in clay soils with high iron content. There is a short week of maceration before the fermentation, with a large proportion of whole clusters before ageing in large casks. The result has a rich cassis fruit, with a bit of spice and a firm, tannic texture with impressive balance and length. Drinking Window 2023 - 2030."  Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, Oct 2021

"The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Village has a well-defined bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry coulis and rose petal scents, forward yet focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good acidity, a little savory towards the finish with fine length." 89-91 Neal Martin, Vinous

"Reserved aromas of various dark berries, spice and a plethora of floral elements can be found on the ripe but airy nose. The wonderfully refined medium-bodied flavors possess very good concentration as well as good length on the youthfully austere and slightly lean but not angular finish. Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musigny, Burgundy

“The holding is in the angle at the northern end of the vineyard, where Laurent has had a nice little wall in dry stone built. Dark black colour with light purple rim. As ever, this is much more Morey than Chambolle. Rich deep dark fruit with its typical savoury edge, dark raspberry notes, a little plum, flavours which reach far to the back of the palate. Succulent and savoury together and very persistent. 13.25%.” 92-95 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

“The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes opens in the glass with aromas of cherries and red berries mingled with sweet spices, loamy soil and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, with fine concentration and a seamless, elegantly muscular profile, it's a fine success that's a worthy follow-up to the 2019 rendition. Laurent Lignier began his harvest on August 27, reporting below-average yields and finished alcohols between 13% and 14%. Once again, the result is a fine vintage for both his domaine holdings and négociant sources—the latter, amounting to some 3.5 hectares of vines, now clearly distinguished in our reviews. As readers will know, winemaking is pretty classical at this address, with a short cold maceration, two to three weeks' maceration with one pigéage and one rémontage per day and maturation in barrels, some one-third of which are new—if possible, without racking—for fully 22 months in the domaine's cold cellars. The 2020s are more primary and tightly wound than Lignier's 2019s, but they're similar in terms of ultimate quality and are well worth seeking out.” 92-94 Williamm Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022

"This too is aromatically restrained but more perfumed on the notes of dark cherry, cassis and violet. The caressing, plump and rounded flavors possess fine mid-palate density before culminating in a dusty, austere and mouth coating finale. This is potentially excellent and a wine that should age gracefully for at least a decade." 91-93 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

"The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru, which snuggles up just below Bonnes-Mares, has a well-defined bouquet, very floral with peony and incense infusing the dark cherry and boysenberry fruit. The palate is very concentrated with supple tannins, quite expansive in style with touches of liquorice surfacing towards the graphite-tinged finish. Very fine, but it will need time. (Drink between 2026-2046)" 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous.com

Joseph Roty Marsannay Les Ouzeloy 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Marsannay, Burgundy

"To my palate, the Ouzeloy bottling is always one of the most refined of the fine lineup chez Roty and this is again the case in 2020. The wine offers up an aromatic constellation of cassis, black cherries, smoked meats, dark soil tones, a touch of chocolate and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite svelte for a 2020 red, with a lovely core of black fruit, fine soil signature, buried tannins and a long, complex and nicely balanced finish. Though this has a quite polished profile, it is also a properly structured wine and I would not be tempted to open a bottle until it has had a good decade in the cellar. " 91 John Gilman, Dec 2022

The 2020 Marsannay Les Ouzeloy is showing very well, bursting with notes of dark berries and plums mingled with licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with good concentration and powdery structuring tannins, it's built for the cellar. 91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

"The 2020 Marsannay Les Ouzeloy has a tight-knit nose with blueberry and boysenberry fruit that retain fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, figgy entry, perhaps quite Tuscan in style with good length on the finish. Fine." 91 Neal Martin, Vinous.com, Nov 2022

Michel Lafarge Clos des Aigrots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Côte de Beaune, Burgundy

"The 2020 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an airy bouquet, very transparent with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, the 15% new oak nearly integrated. Very minerally. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. This is a strict and mineral driven Beaune, very tensile but with ample weight and concentration on the finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2025-2045)" 92-94, Neal Martin, Vinous.com

"A notably more floral-suffused nose is attractively high-toned with its fresh aromas of essence of red currant and cherry. The super-sleek, intense and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that are finer but not denser on the tension-filled and wonderfully refreshing finale. This will need to add depth and is a wine that could be approached young if desired." 90-92, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Rollin Pere & Fils Pernard Vergelesses Les Fichots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Pernand-Vergelesses, Burgundy

“The 2020 les Fichots from Domaine Rollin is another fine bottle in the making, but it is a bit more structured out of the blocks and will need a couple more years in the cellar than the les Vergelesses before it starts to drink with generosity. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of cassis, dark berries, espresso, a complex base of soil tones, grilled game, bonfire, a touch of cedar and a nice dollop of sweet stem tones from the whole clusters in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and impeccably balanced, with a rock solid core, fine transparency and grip, ripe tannins and a long, vibrant and still quite primary finish.” 92+ John Gillman, John Gillman's View From the Cellar, Dec 2021

A red wine of real elegance. The nose develops delicious aromas of well-ripe strawberries, raspberries and some spicy notes. The palate is well-rounded and fleshy, supported by a very mineral finish. It is worth waiting two to three years in bottle. Its structure and depth allow it to be matched with grilled red meats, with meats in highly seasoned sauces, with roast quail or pigeon." Producer Notes

Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves Franc De Pied 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny, Loire

The 2020 Franc de Pied is incredibly reductive when it was first opened and needed a lot of time and a swirl with a copper coin. If you can be patient ( 5 minutes with a penny in your glass, or your currency’s equivalent), It’s worth the wait. It reveals itself to be a richly fruited, savory style that fills the mouth with a balloon of chalky silkiness. The limestone element really shows itself on the long finish grained texture and sinew. As you’d hope from Saumyr-Champigny, there’s no sense of weight or heft. Detectable now but has the structure to develop over the coming two decades.” 94 Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, June 2022

Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves Les Memoires 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny, Loire

“The 2020 Les Memoires is a round and elegant Cabernet Franc. It’s a not-trying wine that exudes a sense of calm and ease as it rolls around your mouth seamlessly. Maybe it’s the 100-year old vines doing their thing. There’s no oak getting in the way, allowing the purity of fruit to shine. It remains true to its variety and place, while its light spice meets dark fruits. Forget the fruit flavors, this is all about refined texture and its fine, chalky, powdery veil of tannins lightly coating the palate. Long and textural, this is not a wine you’ll regret...” 94 Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, June 2022

Grenache / Mourvedre / Carignan / Syrah from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône

“Just a gem of a Côtes Du Rhône that shows both the vintage and the producer perfectly, the 2020 Côtes Du Rhône Le Poutet reveals a medium ruby hue as well as a great perfume of sweet ripe strawberry fruits intermixed with sappy flowers, pepper, violets, and hints of garrigue. Possessing a medium-bodied, vibrant, taut mouthfeel, it's perfectly balanced, has the vintage's fresh, elegant style, and a great finish. You should buy a case of this, and it will keep for over a decade. Located in the northwestern part of the appellation, Laurent Charvin pulls from vines in the lieux-dits of Maucoil, l’Arnesque, and Cabrieres. He releases a single Châteauneuf du Pape based on 80% Grenache and the balance Syrah, Mourvedre, Vaccarese, and Counoise, and the wine is not destemmed, and the aging occurs all in concrete tanks, with no contact with wood whatsoever. This is as pure and classic as it gets.”

Domaine Marcoux Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2020, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvedre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"Vibrant black cherries, mulberries, peppery herbs, and spice are just some of the nuances in the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape, an utterly classic Châteauneuf du Pape that's medium to full-bodied, has the vintage's seamless profile, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. This beautiful, quintessential effort can be enjoyed any time over the coming 15 years or more. The 2020 is a normal blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, and the rest Cinsault, brought up mostly in concrete tank, but with 20% in tronconique tanks and 5% in old barrels." 93, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

"A dark, bold style that features black currant, cassis and plum puree coursing alongside warm earth, black pepper, tobacco and steeped tea. Spicy tannins take hold on the finish, with a whiff of tar and smoke. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Best from 2025 through 2032. 2,600 cases made, 500 cases imported." 92, Kristen Bieler, Wine Spectator

Domaine Rostaing Les Lezardes 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Collines Rhodaniennes, Rhône

"Moving to the 2020s, this is an incredible vintage for Rostaing. The 2020 Vin De Pays Des Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lezardes comes from the same three parcels every year, and the 2020 has a great nose of juicy raspberry and blackberry-like fruits as well as peppery spice and sandalwood. This elegant, medium-bodied, balanced, character-filled Syrah is best enjoyed over the coming 4-5 years. Drink: 2022-2027." 90 Jeb Dunnuck, Jebdunnuck.com

Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chataneauf de Pape La Crau 2020, 0.375L
Grenache / Mourvèdre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"Tasted as a tank sample of the final blend, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau is a blend of approximately 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 5% other permitted varieties, with about 30% whole bunches used in the ferments. Marked by ripe cherries and hints of complex garrigue notes on the nose, it's full-bodied but also really elegant, with fine-grained, silky tannins, ample concentration and a long, surprisingly crisp finish. 93-95 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, May 2022

Jacques Leménicier Cornas 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Cornas, Rhône

"Inky violet color. Lively, spice-tinged black and blue fruit liqueur aromas show sharp definition and pick up floral and incense nuances with air. Subtly chewy and focused on the palate, offering juicy blueberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that are braced by a core of juicy acidity. Finishes sappy, sweet and quite long, with steadily building tannins and resonating blue fruit character. 93 Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Le Vieux Donjon Chateauneuf du Pape 2020, 0.75L
Grenache Noir / Syrah / Mourvèdre from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is another winner from this team, and readers can’t go wrong here. Based on 75% Grenache, 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with the balance Cinsault, it was partially destemmed and brought up all in foudre. This beauty just about jumps out of the glass with its Provençal aromatics of ripe cherries, ground pepper, saddle leather, garrigue, and spice. These carry to a medium to full-bodied wine that has the vintage’s charming, pure character front and center, yet still brings good mid-palate density and ripe tannins. Buy a case, count yourself lucky, and enjoy bottles any time ..." 95 Jeb Dunnuck

"Excellent depth of black fruits, but the Mediterranean herb aromas dominate the fruit. Then the concentrated and very structured palate sweeps you away in a gentle and sensual way. Wonderful interplay of ripeness and expertly crafted fine tannins through the long, elegant finish. A cuvee 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% cinsault that were co-fermented, then matured in foudre. Drink or hold." 95 JamesSuckling.com

"Vieux Donjon's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is a balanced, harmonious effort that offers up pretty aromas of strawberries, raspberries and cherries, accented by hints of crushed stone and dusty earth. It's full-bodied and supple, with a long, silky-textured finish. Richer and riper than the 2021, it shows great harmony and texture. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes." 94 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

Marcoux Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2020, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"A towering effort, the 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes soars from the glass with pristine crème de cassis, raspberry jam, black plum, scorched earth, incense, mint, exotic spice and white pepper aromas. The precision of the individual perfumes has a laser-like quality rarely seen in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Full-bodied and framed by ever-so-velvety tannins, it reaches a spherical dimension in the mouth. The recent adoption of 3,000-liter Austrian oak barrels beautifully contributed to the shape of this wine, giving it terrific poise and tension." 97 Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous

"One of the world’s greatest expressions of Grenache year-in and year-out, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is all varietal that was brought up in larger foudre. This cuvée comes from the Charbonnieres and Les Esqueirons lieux-dits, which are mostly more sandy soils. Its deeper purple color is followed by a concentrated, medium to full-bodied, powerful yet elegant Grenache offering ripe cherry and darker berry fruits, notes of ground pepper, garrigue, and licorice, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. Reminding me slightly of the 2006, which is drinking brilliantly today, it’s going to offer incredible pleasure over its lengthy life. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades." 97 Jeb Dunnuck

"Impressive depth of colour for the vintage, this is extremely round, fresh, clear and well-defined. Tannins are present and fairly strict in style, but they're ripe, and all in all this is exceptionally promising. Not huge in fruit or body, but well-balanced and precise. from 120-year-old vines planted on north-facing clay and sand lieux-dits of Charbonnières and Esquières. Fermented in concrete, aged in foudre." 97 Matt Walls, Decanter

Xavier Gerard Cote Rotie 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Côte Rôtie, Rhône

"Wonderfully fresh and expressive, with a touch of black pepper hiding among the menthol and deep, dark berry fruits. Medium- to full-bodied, this has stacks of rich, sweet berry fruit and driving acidity, then ends neat and precise. Very well-integrated oak brings a spicy complexity, but the site is more prominent than the method. Arguably not as deep as 2015, but this is nonetheless a hugely enjoyable wine. A blend of lieux-dits Le Mollard (near Côte-Blonde), La Viallière, La Brosse and La Landonne. Tasted non-blind. (Drink between 2022-2035)." 97, Matt Walls, Decanter, Oct 2021

Éric Texier Côtes-du-Rhône St.-Julien-en-St.-Alban 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône

"The 2020 Saint-Julien en Saint-Alban from Éric Texier is a fine bottle of young syrah. The bouquet is deep, precise and beautifully black fruity in personality, wafting from the glass in a mix of cassis, pepper, expresso, grilled venison, a nice touch of black olive, granite soil tones and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, ripe and very well balanced, with a fine core of fruit, lovely soil inflection and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. This is still a puppy and quite primary in personality today, but also quite easy to drink. It is not a crime to be opening bottles today, but more complexity will certainly emerge with just a modicum of patience." 91 John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Aldo Conterno Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"Mineral and savory nose with lots of crushed stones, iron, seaweed, spiced blood orange and cranberries. Structured and vertical on the palate but nothing fleshy here. It shows more mineral tension and tautness than fruit. A pure, long Nebbiolo Langhe that gives clarity and precision. Already very drinkable now, but can hold as well." 93 JamesSuckling.com

Vietti Nebbiolo Perbacco 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is another terrific entry-level wine from Vietti. In this vintage, the Perbacco is especially fine. Sweet dried cherry, herbs, mint, crushed flowers, anise and orange peel grace this striking, alluring Nebbiolo. There's tons of depth and sheer pedigree, things that have not always been present in recent editions. For years, Perbacco was a very serious wine - some might say almost too serious - for its peer group. Then Vietti pivoted to a simpler style. With the 2020, Perbacco seems to once again be a wine that overdelivers, big time. Quite frankly, the 2020 Perbacco is more satisfying than many Barbarescos and Barolos I tasted this year. (Drink between 2022-2030)" 92, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

Foradori Granato 2020, 0.75L
Teroldego from Vigneti delle Dolomiti, Trentino Alto Adige Südtirol

"This shows deep red and dark berry character with peppery notes, dark chocolate, hibiscus and grapefruit peel. Just a touch of cedar and smoked herbs. Full and concentrated, so steady and dense with vibrant, finely polished tannins and vivid acidity, giving nerve to the wine, highlighting the savory fruit and minerality. Very long and tense. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold." 97 JamesSuckling.com

"So youthful yet utterly beautiful, the 2020 Teroldego Granato lifts from the glass with an infectiously spicy bouquet, at times autumnal, savory at others, mixed with depths of dark red fruits. This floods the palate with a wave of intense raspberry and wild berries, quickly saturating yet with a hint of sour citrus that provides a lovely balance. A pretty inner sweetness is left to linger, as this finishes structured and remarkably long with a refreshing air of inner rose and wild strawberry that carries on. This is powerful, yet elegant as well, and perfectly balanced for a long evolution." 95 Eric Guido, Vinous

Antinori Rosso di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne 2020, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany

"The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is dark yet perfumed, with lavender and violet tones giving way to masses of ripe plum and cherry. Balsam herbs and hints of chalk develop with time in the glass, adding further depths. This is silky and round, with juicy acidity enlivening its ripe red and hints of blue fruit. Sweet spices, hints of cocoa and licorice linger, as the 2020 tapers off long with just a hint of fine tannin. This showboat of a Rosso is going to win a lot of hearts." 90, Eric Guido, Vinous.com

Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 2020, 0.75L
Brunello from Montalcino, Tuscany

"The Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is bright and loaded with a fresh, buoyant personality focused on red cherry, cassis and bitter almond. There are hints of ferrous earth and crushed aspirin that add extra contours and edging to this fun, easy-drinking Rosso. I certainly wouldn't mind this bottle next to a classic wood-fired pizza Margherita, but only 6,000 bottles were made, so I imagine availability will be limited." 91, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Montepeloso Eneo IGT 2020, 0.75L
Montepulciano / Sangiovese from Toscana, Tuscany

"This is a blend of 65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malvasia Nera from a warm vintage. The 2020 Eneo doesn't have the same pulp and mass that we see in the 2019 vintage; however, it does show lots of richness and intensity, especially in terms of bouquet. Perhaps the aromas are more focused and sharp in this wine, and there is a pretty mineral note that cuts a through line connecting the bouquet to the medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. This vintage feels more accessible compared to the 2019, and the alcohol content is a high 15%. Production is 29,000 bottles". 96, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2023
