"The 2020 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an airy bouquet, very transparent with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, the 15% new oak nearly integrated. Very minerally. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. This is a strict and mineral driven Beaune, very tensile but with ample weight and concentration on the finish. Excellent. "The 2020 Chardonnay Vino de los Ranchos is a new cuvée from Scar of the Sea, from own-rooted vines planted in 1973 near Bien Nacido vineyard. Still in barrel on the lees, the first sneak peek is promising. The nose offers singular aromas of panna cotta, Greek yogurt and yellow orchard fruits, and the palate is rounded and savory with a juicy bite of acidity and a creamy finish.
