"As is customary with this bottling, its cépages is one-third each of chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier and a third of the cuvée is comprised from reserve wines. The wine is still youthful, but offers lovely depth in its nose of apple, pear, fresh-baked bread, a complex base of soil tones, dried flowers and a hint of buttery oak in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, bright and full-bodied, with fine depth at the core, good soil signature, elegant mousse and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. This is quite tasty in its youth, but this bottling has a history or aging splendidly and it would not be a crime to tuck a case away in the cellar for three to five years before starting to drink it in earnest. Fine juice." |
