"Co-fermented with 5% Viognier and vinified entirely with whole clusters, the 2021 Syrah is fresh and crunchy without losing its complexity. Medium ruby-purple in the glass, it opens slowly from touches of tar and tobacco to wafts of blueberries, blackcurrants, pipe tobacco and potpourri on the nose. Medium-bodied and bursting with layers of concentrated, crunchy fruit, it has alluring spicy accents as it traverses the palate. It offers a fine, chalky frame, tremendous, energetic acidity and a very long, perfumed finish. This elegant expression that nods to the Côte-Rôtie style is a pleasure to drink! Only 72 cases were made." |
