Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

“The 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli displays a rich red color and opens to a gorgeous perfume of cherry liqueur, polished leather, star anise, gravelly earth, and pressed flowers. Beautifully detailed, the palate has a medium to a full-bodied frame, with plush tannins, a perfectly harmonious structure, outstanding purity of concentrated ripe fruit, and a long finish. Lovers of this estate are not going to want to miss out on this one. Drink 2025-2045.” 97, Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2024

Antinori Solaia 2019, 0.75L
Super Tuscan Blend from Toscana IGT, Tuscany

"Love the depth and restrained power on display here. Made for leisurely drinking over a few hours. Cocoa powder, liqourice, blueberry, smoked herbs and raspberry fruits. Tannins have texture and grip, highlighting a lemongrass and slate roughness to the finish, all given definition by a fennel, almost hoppy bitterness on the finish. The Antinori family, with director Stefano Carpaneto are making the most of a superb vintage with this wine, highly recommended, especially with an extra few years in bottle before opening." 98, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Jul 2022

“This has a complex array of blackberries, black cherries, cocoa, dried herbs, slate, tobacco, olives and charred bark. Some dried roses and iodine, too. Medium-to full-bodied with firm yet refined tannins. Powerful, in an understated way. Long. Try in 2025.” 98, James Suckling, Jul 2022

“The Marchesi Antinori 2019 Solaia is another blockbuster success from Tuscany's leading wine estate. The blend sees a slightly higher percentage of Cabernet Franc and a slightly lower percentage of Sangiovese. The current mix is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Franc (which has been creeping up in recent years, especially as the climate changes). The soils at the Solaia vineyard are rich in Galestro rock, which is an especially happy pairing with Cabernet Franc in particular. Managing Director Renzo Cotarella tells me that that a vintage like 2019 is proof that the final character of a wine comes from its surrounding territory, not from the blend. This is a generous and extremely expressive edition with lots of dark fruit, spice and sweet tobacco. The tannins are beautifully velvety and soft. This is a beautiful wine that collectors will love.” 97, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2022

Antinori Solaia 2021, 0.75L
Super Tuscan Blend from Toscana IGT, Tuscany

"Antinori's 2021 Solaia is another wine that captures all of the potential I sensed when I tasted it some months ago. More than anything else, the 2021 is a fine example of the style Antinori favors these days, an approach that favors finesse more than opulence. Dark plum, mocha, licorice, chocolate, spice, lavender and menthol build effortlessly in the glass. Oak and tannin are impeccably balanced. The 2021 spent 18 months in wood, three months in once-used barrels during the malolactic fermentation and then 15 months in 100% new barrels for the rest of its aging." 100, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2024

“A deep, dense red, drenched with blackberry, pomegranate, plum and sweet spice flavors. Iron, tobacco and wild herb elements peek through as this plays out on the finish under a strong grip of tannins. Shows terrific balance and length now, yet this should only improve after a few more years in the bottle. Superb. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2027 through 2047. 7,333 cases made, 634 cases imported.” 98, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, Oct 2024

Antinori Tignanello 2021, 0.75L
Super Tuscan from Tuscany, Tuscany

“The 2021 Tignanello is every bit as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel and then just after bottling. Silky and polished, with exceptional finesse, the 2021 has all the pedigree become a modern benchmark for Tignanello and Italian wine more broadly. Bright dark red fruit, blood orange, spice, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco all soar out of the gals, framed by a discreet touch of French oak that adds raciness. In some vintages, the elements are discernible. In 2021, it is the total harmony of the wine that makes the strongest and deepest impression. The 2021 spent 17 months in wood, three months in neutral oak during the malolactic fermentation and then 14 months (50% new) for the rest of its aging. Superb.” 98, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2024

“First made in 1971, this legendary Italian wine now celebrates its 50th birthday. Happy Birthday, Tignanello! The Marchesi Antinori 2021 Tignanello (made with 79% Sangiovese, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc) pulls on all the heartstrings. To be released in May, the wine shows a quintessentially pretty taste profile with tart fruit flavors, redcurrant, tea leaf, heritage rose, crushed white pepper, licorice, nutmeg, clove and chopped mint. It opens slowly to reveal more richness and exuberance with time, becoming downright voluptuous and heady a short while later. The through line, however, remains the bright freshness and minerality of Sangiovese. Compared to the 2018 vintage (which I also loved), this vintage has more overall fruit weight and volume.” 98, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Mar 2024

Fattoria di Bacchereto Carmignano Terre a Mano 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese Blend from Carmignano, Tuscany

“Fattoria Di Bacchereto produces 20000 bottles annually. The wines are lightly macerated at controlled temperatures and they are fermented in concrete vats and malolactic. Ageing is dones for at least 12 to 19 months in the oak barrels and then 6 months in the bottle. One can only imagine how good their organic wines made in such a way must taste.” Importer Notes

Ficomontanino Toscana Rosso Granomelo 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Tuscany, Tuscany

"Dusty cherry and crushed fall leaves evolve slowly into a deeper display of citrus-tinged raspberries, cinnamon and sweet white smoke as the 2018 Rosso Granomelo blossoms in the glass. This seduces with a silky wave of pure, ripe red berries and spices, as brilliant acidity lends vibrancy and saline-mineral tones add a salty flair. The 2018 has energy to burn, coming across as primary and wild, yet also refined. An herbal twang and grippy tannins collect toward the close. It leaves the palate classically dry, caked with an almost-chalky coating; however, it’s mouthwatering all the same. The contrasts here keep you guessing with each tilt of the glass, a mix of sheer drinkability and noble stature. This is a gorgeous glass of Sangiovese. The Granomelo hails from Ficomontanino’s Melogranino vineyard. It goes through spontaneous fermentation with a two-month maceration, and then refines completely in concrete. I’ll be following this wine closely in the vintages to come. A selection of inspired Tuscan wines arrived from Maria Sole at Ficomontanino. This is a 12-hectare property located in the extreme southeast of Tuscany, bordering Umbria and Lazio. In fact, geographically speaking, the climate here is closer to northern Lazio and mountainous Umbria than it is to Tuscany. The vineyards were originally planted by Maria Sole's grandfather in the 1960s, yet winemaking was more of a hobby for him. She took the reins of the family farm from her father after being bitten by the wine bug and was inspired by the likes of Tenute Dettori in Sardinia. Her education at Slow Food’s University of Culinary Arts at Pollenzo is also a huge influence in the winemaking here, choosing natural practices in the vineyards, spontaneous fermentations, long macerations, neutral aging vessels, no fining or filtration, and a minimum use of sulfur. In the end, Maria Sole really seems to be onto something, delivering a transparent and honest representation of terroir." 93 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous

Fonterenza Rosso di Montalcino 2020, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany

“In the Fonterenza style, the 2020 Rosso di Montalcino lifts from the glass with a wild bouquet as sour cherry and orange mingle with sweet herbs and exotic spices. This is full of energy yet soft and pliant. Vibrant acidity carries licorice-tinged red fruits. It tapers off long and structured, leaving the mouth watering and aching under its youthful structure. Patience will be required”. 92, Eric Guido, Nov 2023

Fontodi Chianti Classico DOCG 2021, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

“The 2021 Chianti Classico is classic wine from the estate, done in the more restrained style that has become the norm here of late. There's plenty of Panzano richness, but more energy and less heaviness than what was common just a few years ago. Giovanni Manetti and his team have given the Chianti Classico gorgeous refinement. Spice, flowers, mocha and blue fruits linger, wrapped together by ultra-finessed tannins. The 2021 spent 20-22 months in barrel—65% cask and 35% neutral French oak barriques.” 94, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2024

Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2012, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Colli Toscana Centrale, Tuscany

"The 2012 Flaccianello della Pieve, a selection of the estate's best fruit, presents a darker, more virile expression of Sangiovese. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is truly striking. Cinnamon, cloves, new leather, licorice and plums are some of the notes that soar from the glass. The 2012 is full-bodied and voluptuous, in classic Flaccianello style, but the new French oak is much better integrated than it often is at this stage, the result of a move to lower toast levels over the last few years. This is one of the finest young Flaccianellos I can remember. Simply put, the 2012 Flaccianello is a real stunner. Wow .... Vinous readers know I regard the Sorbo as Fontodi's flagship wine. While the 2012 is truly stratospheric, so is the Flaccianello. Judging by those two wines, it is clear Mother Nature smiled on Fontodi in 2012 ..." 97 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"Manetti calls 2012 'the vintage of two faces': summer was very hot until mid-August, when some rain brought cooler temperatures which slowed down ripening. In chillier zones than Panzano, Sangiovese struggled to ripen, he says. Even more expressive than when it was initially released, the 2012 has a decidedly exotic manner. Saffron, liquorice and cardamom overlay violets and earth. The tannins are polished with an intriguing chalky texture. It's compact and full but balanced, with a core of vibrant acidity and a long explosive finish. This has the bones to age brilliantly." 97 Michaela Morris, Decanter Magazine

Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 2020, 0.75L
Brunello from Montalcino, Tuscany

"The Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is bright and loaded with a fresh, buoyant personality focused on red cherry, cassis and bitter almond. There are hints of ferrous earth and crushed aspirin that add extra contours and edging to this fun, easy-drinking Rosso. I certainly wouldn't mind this bottle next to a classic wood-fired pizza Margherita, but only 6,000 bottles were made, so I imagine availability will be limited." 91, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino 2020, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"A restrained wine that’s complex and deep, with aromas of cherry stones, butter, fresh violets, orange peel and prunes. Firm tannins with a grainy texture, yet it has a sweet finish, super-energetic acidity and a full body. Flavors of blood oranges and violets. Perfect balance and incredible aging potential. A super classic." 97, James Suckling, Nov 2024

"Definitely among the vintage’s anomalies, Il Marroneto’s 2020 is more overtly structured than its 2019 counterpart. While the latter verges on dainty and ethereal, the 2020 is steelier in resolve and almost austere by comparison. Proprietor Alessandro Mori also felt it needed longer in wood, so this saw a total of 45 months in Slavonian oak casks. Subtle and sweet to start, it flits with strawberry and cherry blossom before taking on earthier tones. Elegantly weighted but still tight, the palate is built around pure red cherry and raspberry, embedded with nutmeg and incense. Chalky and layered, the tannins sport an assertive bite." 96, Michaela Morris, Decanter, Nov 2024

Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie 2020, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"The undeniably elegant 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is amazingly fresh and vibrant on the nose, cascading from the glass with a burst of crushed cherries, rose petals, blood oranges and cloves. This displays exceptional elegance and grace, soothing the palate with its silken feel and ripe red and blue fruits. Hints of sour citrus add contrast, a mix of iron-borne minerals and fine tannins that mount toward the close. A saturation of primary concentration remains, offset by residual acidity as this finishes structured and impossibly long, leaving a sour cherry tinge and masses of violet pastille. The 2020 is a showboat yet complex and harmonious from start to finish. It's easily one of the absolute top wines of the vintage." 98, Eric Guido, Vinous, Nov 2024

“This soars out of the glass with heady scents of violet, rose and lilac, eventually joined by flecks of pepper, potting soil and roasted chestnuts, yet the palate is almost stubbornly closed as the tannins clutch assertively to a brooding core of dark cherry. Acidity is just as concentrated as the fruit, and next to the estate’s classic Brunello, the single-vineyard Madonna delle Grazie bottling demonstrates more density and volume, and it will need even longer in the cellar. Next year, Il Marroneto will come out with a 2020 Riserva, only the estate’s second ever (2013 being the first). Based on the performance of these two wines, the decision seems highly justified.” 97, Michaela Morris, Decanter, Nov 2024

“The first of three vineyard selections, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Madonna Delle Grazie is long and expansive through the palate. It offers ample structure and energy through an exquisitely concentrated and long finish. At this stage, there is notable reduction, and the wine is still working nearly three years later. This was my first time visiting the Il Marroneto estate, and everything I tasted there was from barrels, led by winemaker Alessandro Mori’s son, Iacopo, while the 2018s were tasted from bottle back home in New York. The winery was established in 1974, when Alessandro’s father, who was originally from Siena, was looking to create a small winery. He was encouraged by a priest in Montalcino to take a look at a church property on the northern side of the town, with its exposition overlooking Siena, and found the home for his winery. Today, the Mori family’s approach to the vineyard and the winery remains traditional in that they work by more natural methods of temperature control, they do not implement green harvesting of the vines, and they do not work the soil, looking for nature itself to create its selection. The ground here is 75% sand, the ideal soil for Sangiovese. Today they own eight hectares of vineyard, with their prime holdings just outside the winery, the two hectares that make up Modanna delle Grazie, at 440 meters above sea level. All of their vineyards have a northern exposition, which is important for the cold winds in the early evening and through the night.” 95-98, Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck, Mar 2023

La Spinetta Il Rosé di Casanova IGT 2024, 0.75L
Sangiovese Blend from Toscana, Tuscany

.“The loose, sandy limestone soils of Casanova where Giorgio Rivetti put his Tuscan roots in 2000 is the perfect terroir for a rosé of Sangiovese. Brief skin contact gives this wine that pale salmon color that blesses the Provençal style, and this was precisely Giorgio’s ambition: to make a rosé in Tuscany that could compete with the greatest in the world. It prizes elegance over impact, finesse over bombast, and above all else a drinkability that might verge on illegal in some states! Year in, year out, I’ll always keep my cellar stocked with a few bottles of this Tuscan gem.” Mark Fornatale, Italian Portfolio Manager Importer Notes

La Torre Brunello di Montalcino 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

“The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino La Torre is born of the earth, as a burst of crushed ashen stones and wild herbs give way to dried black cherries. This is surprisingly juicy and sleek, with vividly ripe red plums complicated by saline minerals and savory spice. Green olives resonate under an air of violet inner florals. The 2019 finishes long, structured and staining. A pleasantly rustic character here may not be for everyone, but I think it works pretty well”.  93, Eric Guido, Vinous, Nov 2023

Montenidoli Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2022, 0.5L
Olive Oil from San Gimignano, Tuscany

"Olives have been grown at Montenidoli since Etruscan time. We currently grow the Moraiolo and Correggiolo varieties; the former provides body, the latter perfume. Our olive trees are organically grown and pruned yearly. The harvest, by hand, begins in November and continues until just before Christmas. Our EVO [extra virgin olive] oil is in fact extra extra virgin: at the time of pressing its acidity is less than 0.20%, which is far below the 1% maximum allowed acidity for EVO oils. Montenidoli’s EVO oil emerges from the presses opaque and brash, with powerful vegetal aromas. Throughout its youth, it remains strongly flavored, with pronounced artichoke accents that make it more of a food to be served over bread than a condiment. Our EVO oil is extremely healthy; It’s an excellent source of good (LDL) cholesterol and is rich in vitamins." Montenidoli

Cabernet Sauvignon from Toscana IGT, Tuscany

“The 2022 Gabbro, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is fabulous. In fact, it’s one of the finest versions of this wine I have tasted. More than anything, the 2022 suggests that the Tuscan Coast can produce wines of elegance and polish, even in torridly warm years, and even in its warmest micro-climates, if desired. Blue/black fruit, leather, lavender, espresso and dried herbs abound. The 2022 is beautiful today. I expect it will be even better in a few years’ time. Piaggia Poggio de'Colli Toscana 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Carmignano, Tuscany

"The darkly alluring 2020 Cabernet Franc Poggio de' Colli takes its time in the glass, slowly awakening with a dusty mix of red currants, pepper-tinged rose, exotic curries and the slightest touch of animal musk that adds gravitas. This is velvety smooth yet finessed. It's cool-toned in feel with a potent wave of tart raspberry fruits that saturates the palate with savory spice and mineral tones. It leaves a coating of fine tannins and a staining of berry concentration through the finale, tapering off sapid and long, yet perfectly balanced. What a radiant vintage for the Poggio de' Colli, Piaggia's varietal Cabernet Franc. Revisit it in five years to see some real sparks fly. (Drink between 2026-2034)" 97 Eric Guido, Vinous.com

Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino 2017, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"This is a beautiful, fresh 2017 Brunello with fine tannins and a medium body of cherry, bark, cedar and pine-needle flavors. It’s long and polished with ultra-fine tannins and fresh acidity. Nicely done for the vintage. Drink or hold." 94 James Suckling

"Tenute Silvio Nardi is an estate worth visiting. It occupies one of the most extreme locations in the appellation, tucked away into the hills north of the town in a wild no-man's-land of its own. Once you get there, there is a cozy, warm feeling, with vineyards carved out of the surrounding Mediterranean shrub oaks and forests. If you taste forest floor, button mushroom and wild flowers in the 2017 Brunello di Montalcino, you could easily imagine this magical place. This is a silky, mid-weight Brunello with a cool-climate character (which is preserved despite the hot vintage). An ample 114,000 bottles are hitting the market now." 93 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Tenuta San Guido Le Difese 2022, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon from Tuscany, Tuscany

“The 2022 Le Difese is plump, juicy and expressive, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, succulent red cherry fruit, mint, spice and blood orange all race across the palate. This exuberant yet mid-weight coastal Tuscan red is a total pleasure bomb. The 2022 is an especially fine edition. It benefits from a warm year - which can be a positive for entry-level wines - earlier bottling and selection. Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (both estate and non-estate sites) and Sangiovese, all purchased.” 92, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2024

Tenuta Sette Ponti 'Orma' 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Cabernet Sauvignon from Bolgheri, Tuscany

“This is a tight and powerful Orma with solid tannins that beautifully frame the fruit in the wine. Full-bodied and focused with intense structure and fruit character. Perhaps the best Orma ever.” 97, James Suckling

"Rich and decidedly intriguing from the start as it alternates notes of black plum, blackberry, hibiscus, turmeric, sweet paprika, yellow pepper, and saffron. Complex and decidedly spicy, it offers notes of sandalwood and crushed stone. Full bodied, with perfectly ripe and integrated tannins and a compact and solid finish that does not relent. Aged 18 months in mainly new French oak barrique. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc." 98 Raffaele Vecchione

Tenuta Sette Ponti 'Orma' 2022, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Bolgheri, Tuscany

"The cabernet sauvignon character comes through nicely in this red, particularly on the palate, with currants, both red and black, as well as dried flowers and cedar. Some lead pencil as well. Medium body, with polish, finesse and beauty. Lovely length and grace. This is a move towards better balance and energy for Orma. One to watch. A blend of mostly merlot with cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc."  97, James Suckling, Aug 2024

“This wine always brings the finesse, with a medium intensity jewel-like colour and a clear focus on red fruits, raspberry, cranberry, touch of salinity brought by its location close to the sea, layered with dried roses, cassis bud, orange peel, savoury white pepper and mint leaf. Good quality and a clear Tuscan interpretation of the Bordeaux grapes, making this a wine to seek out. One year in bottle after barrel ageing before release. Clay, gravel and sand soils, vineyard located just 15m above sea level, Moretti Cuseri family, first vintage 2005. Heavy bottle a little incongruous.” 94, Jane Anson, Jul 2024

Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

“Just a baby today, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is darkly alluring with a youthfully coy bouquet that requires coaxing as dusty earth and dried flowers slowly take on hints of incense and black cherries. It flows easily across the palate, silky and refined with building tension as brisk acidity and minerals mingle with edgy tannins toward the close. The 2019 finishes dramatically long and structured with a pleasantly bitter tinge. A resonance of salted licorice and cedar lingers on and on. Valdicava has captured the radiance of the vintage.” 95, Eric Guido, Vinous, Nov 2023

Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Madonna del Piano 2016, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

“Deep ruby-colored with a light purple tinge, the 2016 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Madonna Del Piano takes on another gear with its rich perfume unfolding with lavender, black cherry, cassis, fresh leather, licorice, fresh soil, and sage. The wine is full-bodied, with a ripe velveteen texture, while maintaining freshness, and it is elegantly rounded through the mid-palate, with notes of black plum, Earl Grey, scorched earth, and tea leaf. This seems to be moving at a glacial pace in its evolution and certainly warrants at least a few more years in cellar. Drink 2026-2050.” 99, Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2023
