Lot #1310. Matanzas Creek Merlot Sonoma County 1995

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 90 ST.
"Very good deep red color. Complex nose combines cassis, licorice, chocolate, mint, and herbs; not as directly fruity as the above. Higher-pitched and more tightly wound on the palate; gives an impression of stronger acidity than the '96s. Unevolved and not especially fleshy today. Finishes with even but slightly dry tannins. A harder style of merlot compared to the '96s and '94s made here. A June hailstorm destroyed half of the estate merlot in '95 . . ." Vinous, May 1998
Provenance: The Arête Cellar
Notes: Very top shoulder, lightly wrinkled capsule, nicked and lightly scuffed label, lightly mold stained label.
