"One of the standouts among these 2011s, the Chardonnay Thieriot Vineyard is wonderfully alive in the glass. A detailed, nuanced wine, the 2011 is all about clarity and precision. White orchard fruit, flowers, crushed rocks and a subtle hint of spices all add further nuance. Stylistically, the Thieriot lies somewhere between the Mays Canyon and Heintz. Proprietor Ted Lemon picked this fruit very late, after all of the rain. For his patience, Lemon was rewarded with an utterly magical wine." Wine Advocate #206, Apr 2013 |
