97 NM. "It has long been a standout wine from the decade and it did not disappoint. Noticeably deep in colour considering its age, it has a “killer” nose of redcurrant, brown spices, eucalyptus and a light earthiness. The delineation is astonishing and the focus is breathtaking. The palate is sensual and supple in the mouth and yet it still manages to convey the essence of Latour, the structure now melted but retaining fabulous balance. Cedar and black pepper infuse the layers of red fruit, linear and typically so aristocratic. You have to stand back and admire its wondrous depth and persistent aftertaste. What a magical Latour."
