98 WA. "Like this year’s auction lot A.P.#13, the 2007 Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Auslese Long Gold Capsule A.P. #15 reveals a remarkable wealth of what can only be called mineral elements to accompany its rich peach preserves, honey, malt, and nut paste. Remarkably creamy in texture and dripping throughout with Persian melon, white peach, liquid lily and peony floral perfume, it’s hard to imagine a more rarified expression of botrytis; a much more mineral-inflected botrytis Riesling; or a more magical example of the vintage marriage of richness with weightlessness. Just as its finish is nearly endless, this will also prove almost endlessly fascinating, surely worth following for at least 40 years. Oliver and Wilhelm Haag have done it again, scoring consistent and sensational success throughout their range." Wine Advocate #183, Jun 2009 |
