90 NM. "This is the first time I have tasted this Margaux estate’s dalliance with the 19th century practice of blending with Syrah. It has a limpid purple/garnet core. The nose is opulent, glossy, with ripe black cherries, blueberry and creme de cassis. It would actually be quite difficult to ascertain the Syrah if you tasted this completely blind. The palate is full-bodied, silky smooth in texture, cohesive and very supple. Pure blackberry, cassis and a touch of blueberry . . . . It will be interesting to see how this ages - who knows - maybe it will outlast everything else!" Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Sep 2009 |
