"Julian Haart's "J.J." 2020 is a selection of grapes from Piesporter Goldtröpfchen with 10% from Piesporter Falkenberg. The two parts result in a picture-perfect cabinet full of freshness and yellow-green aromas, fine spice and a lively acidic structure. J.J. is, of course, a reference to one of Julian's heroes in this winemaking style, as this is a tribute to the feather-weight and delicate Kabinetts made for decades by Manfred Prüm at Weingut J.J. Prüm in Wehlen. While it has been produced in small quantities in the past, this is the first time it's making its way to the United States due to 2020 being an absolutely ideal vintage for Kabinett. A cool September helped retain blazing levels of acidity and rains in mid-October meant that harvest was wrapped up early. Parcels whose produce normally would have been destined for Spätlese or Auslese instead found a happy home at the Kabinett prädikat level. . ." |
