"Perhaps somebody up there doesn’t like Pommard? After a respite in 2015, this was battered by the elements again in 2016, losing 80% to frost and mildew. Quantities may be small, but there’s nothing wrong with the quality. Made up of equal parts young and old vines from the 5.23-hectare vineyard, plus some press wine, it’s a remarkably fine, self-assured Premier Cru with textured tannins, plum and red berry flavours and subtle underlying tannins."
