"(This fruit was picked on September 3): Healthy dark red with ruby highlights. Very ripe, slightly liqueur-like aromas of kirsch, blackberry, licorice and minerals. Wonderfully fine-grained and suave, with almost shocking acidity giving penetration and lift to its highly concentrated flavors of black fruits, licorice and stony minerality. An intriguing salty element adds another dimension. Finishes with huge but fully buffered tongue-coating tannins and outstanding length. This youthfully tight wine has the scale and structure for a long life in bottle."
