94 RP "This intriguing blend from the famous Hudson Vineyard is 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot. A lesson in the complexity of Cabernet Franc is at hand with this brilliant wine. Distinctive and intellectually pleasing notes of mulberry, forest floor, spring flowers and spice jump from the glass of this dark plum/ruby-colored wine with some lightening at the edge. It is medium-bodied, round and generous, with silky tannins and a plush texture. This is how gorgeous Cabernet Franc, when blended with Merlot, can be. Interesting that the alcohol is relatively lofty at 14.8%, which is completely obscured by the wine’s sheer elegance and complexity. I’m sure this is going to get a lot better, so drink it over the next 5-6 years."
