94 Points! The 1999 Château Margaux is an immensely charming wine that's drinking beautifully today from both bottle and, in this case, magnum. Bursting with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and violets framed by subtle hints of cigar box, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual, with an enveloping core of fruit, ripe and melting tannins and a long, penetrating finish. Analogies with the immensely charming 1985 vintage are very persuasive, as the 1999 is quite reminiscent of how the 1985 tasted fifteen years ago. - William Kelley, robertparker.com, 2022
94 Points! The 1999 Chateau Margaux has a medium to deep garnet-brick color. The nose is so perfumed and pretty, featuring fragrant scents of kirsch, raspberry coulis, rose oil, and sandalwood, followed by hints of iron ore and unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is lively and energetic, delivering red berry and savory flavors, matched by fine-grained tannins and a long, mineral-laced finish. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Nov 2024

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
The Left Bank appellation prized for perfumed, silky and elegant Cabernet-based wines. Gravel soils yield claret of aromatic finesse and refinement.
Chateau Margaux is a First Growth estate in Margaux, Bordeaux, celebrated for its perfumed, silky and profoundly elegant Cabernet-dominated wines, considered the epitome of the appellation's finesse.
A blend of the classic Bordeaux red varieties - typically Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, often with Petit Verdot and Malbec - balancing structure, fruit and aromatic complexity. The template for age-worthy reds in Bordeaux and worldwide.
