"Cask sample. Mid crimson. Firm nose of red fruit and leather. Slight prickle as if it has just been through malolactic fermentation. Great fruit impact with real depth, plenty of cherry, wild strawberry and a leather note that adds rather than distracts. Amazing fine, chewy tannins. Calabretta’s current vintage is 2006 (!), so it could be a while before this will be released. (WS) (Drink between 2020-2028)." |
