"The 2017 Vouvray Pétillant Brut from Domaine Huët is a lovely bottle. The bouquet is bright and focused, wafting from the glass in a mix of quince, dried flowers, chalky soil tones, a hint of menthol and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, young and racy, with a fine core, good soil signature, a lovely spine of acidity and a long, well-balanced, complex and quite dry finish. This wine always ages brilliantly and the 2017 will be another long-distance runner, but it is certainly already quite tasty out of the blocks." |
