"The 2020 Baudouin comes from Vouvray but was vinified in Montlouis sur Loire, so it is not eligible for the appellation since changes were made on January 1, 2015. The 2020 is a pure style offering a lovely cloud of barrel fermented fruit. This has clarity, a sense of roundness with lightness and also a sense of purpose like an Aussie rules umpire signaling a goal. It has a corridor of attractive tannins, and as it moves across the mouth, it becomes a much more powerful style that will come together with time in bottle. The mouth waters incessantly after drinking, and a fragrant finish of nectarine and fresh apricot lingers long." |
