99 Points! Breathtaking. Exceptional integration of super ripe blackberries and the very finest oak. The tannins build up beautifully, forming wave upon wave as the wine flows across the palate. Then the wave breaks on your palate and shoots way out at the finish, so that you wonder where it will end and normal life begin again. Needs time to soften, but this is so, so good. Give it two or three years. - James Suckling
97+ Points! As with the 2015, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve shows the vintage beautifully and is more pure, classic, and elegant. Notes of crème de cassis, graphite, lead pencil shavings, and freshly crushed rocks give way to a medium to full-bodied, seamless Cabernet that has remarkable purity of fruit and impeccable balance. Made from 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot aged in 83% new French oak, it’s more reserved and backward than the 2015 and will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
California's most prestigious wine region, celebrated worldwide for opulent, structured Cabernet Sauvignon. Diverse soils and mountain-to-valley-floor sites yield wines of remarkable ripeness, power and longevity.
California's flagship appellation for opulent, structured Cabernet Sauvignon of ripe fruit, plush tannins and cellar-worthy depth.
2016 in Napa Valley capped a run of drought years with a near-ideal, balanced growing season; the Cabernets are ripe, structured and classically proportioned, powerful yet balanced, with fine tannins and excellent aging potential.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.

From there, the wine is aged in 100% French oak, about 90% new custom-coopered
barrels selected for grain tightness and toast level. This is why the wine shows that
signature Private Reserve polish: of silky tannins, seamless integration, and a finish that
glides rather than shouts.
The élevage is long, patient, and exacting the kind of winemaking that used to define “old
Napa luxury.” You taste it in every sip.
And the critics absolutely adore this wine. Have a look.

“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is a brilliant wine, and as with the 2015,
shows the vintage beautifully. It offers incredible purity of fruit, with crème de cassis,
graphite, lead-pencil, and freshly crushed rock characteristics. Medium to full-bodied,
seamless and elegant, yet also concentrated and powerful, it’s impeccably balanced. Give
it 2–4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the next 20+ years.”
