Accendo Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"Accendo's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is every bit as alluring as it was from barrel. Plush and sensual, with no hard edges, the 2019 possesses magnificent balance from start to finish. Dark-fleshed fruit, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol build as this sumptuous, racy Cabernet shows off its tremendous charm. Best of all, the 2019 offers quite a bit of immediacy. I would choose to drink it ahead of some of the more structured recent vintages. As always, the Accendo Cabernet is a blend of several top sites in Napa Valley. (Drink between 2027-2041)" 98, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

Tyler Rose of Pinot Noir 2022, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, California
"From various high quality vineyard sites, our Rosé is composed from the free-run juice afforded to us by simply transporting the vintage’s first Pinot Noir to our cellar. During this short trip across the Sta. Rita at dawn, the Pinot Noir is gently pressed by its own weight, rendering our first taste of the vintage—and the basis for our exceptionally limited rosé. We carry this juice to a stainless steel tank and old barrique for fermentation using native yeasts, and then raise the wine in neutral oak for about four months. The wine is unfined and filtered. The resulting wine speaks of the Sta. Rita Hills with unique clarity and tension: it is at once floral and mineral, carried by a through-line of bracing acidity and sea spray." Winery Notes

Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Signature 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Malbec / Petite Verdot / Merlot from Napa Valley, California
"This is very complex, with blackcurrants, tobacco and cedar. Some sandalwood and terra-cotta, too. Medium-to full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that are creamy-textured and so long and pure. Attractive and complex. 77% cabernet sauvignon with petit verdot, malbec and merlot. So good now to drink, but will age beautifully. Drink or hold." 95, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a terrific wine and a big overachiever in its price range. Black cherry, plum, mocha, lavender, spice, licorice and new leather lend tons of complexity to this bold, luscious Cabernet. This overt, upfront Cabernet offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal." 93, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
"Always a smoking value that readers shouldn't miss, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature sports a dense purple color to go with beautiful cassis and blueberry-like fruits as well as bouquet garni, spice, and obvious, rocky mineral-like aromas and flavors. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with notable structure and good acidity, it's going to keep for two decades in cold cellars. It's a candidate for the best Napa Cabernet under $100." 94 Jeb Dunnuck

Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot from Columbia Valley, Washington
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series comes from a mix of vineyards and includes 7% Petit Verdot, all aged in 54% new French oak. (There's a splash of Hungarian oak as well.) Darker currants, mulberries, new leather, lead pencil, and plenty of herbal, floral notes emerge from this medium to full-bodied red, a pure, incredibly polished, balanced effort with loads of character. It already offers pleasure today yet should evolve for another 20 years if stored correctly. Drink: 2022-2042. 94, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com
"The 2019 is the 28th edition of the Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series. This version blends 93% Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Petit Verdot. The palate revels in its beautiful balance and green bell pepper notes. A massive core of blackberry and black cherry greets you, followed by savory undertones and a lengthy finish. The oak here gently wraps around the core of dark fruits. Gorgeous now, this has another 15 years to go in the cellar. Drink: 2021-2036." 93, Owen Bargreen, Vinous.com

Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Cruz Mountains, California
"The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is going to need a number of years to come around. The only question is how many. In 2017, the Mount Eden Cabernet is shockingly opulent. Inky black fruit, bittersweet chocolate, spice, leather and incense are all dialed up in this super-sized Cabernet. Even so, there is plenty of structure lurking beneath. Deep ruby-purple, it's classy and defined, with aromas of black and blueberry jam, violet, milk chocolate, fried herbs and coffee beans. The full-bodied palate's youthfully concentrated fruits are supported by an abundance of silky tannins and offers notable freshness that lifts the finish. "More iron, ground pepper, charred meats, and tapenade notes emerge from the 2018 Syrah Block B, a rich, powerful, yet focused and elegant Syrah that does everything right. Offering plenty of chalky minerality, ripe, building tannins, and a great finish, this brilliant Syrah will keep for at least a decade. Gemstone Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Selection 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville, California
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Selection, from the back part of the property, is plump, juicy and full of character. Inky dark fruit, mocha, floral notes and spice . All the elements come together so nicely. Picking a bit earlier than in the past helps preserve freshness as well as energy. Time in the glass brings out the wine's volume and resonance. The juicy, creamy style works well here. Inky dark red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal and new leather build into the resonant finish. I find a bit better balance here than in the Alluvial Selection. (Drink between 2022-2038)" 95, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

"A resounding success, the deep ruby-colored 2017 Sorella displays beautiful purple highlights and explodes from the glass with aromas of blackberry, cigar box and dried tobacco with hints of graphite and dusty purple flowers. Full-bodied, the wine is ripe and round, with an immaculate mouthfeel, showing an impressive depth of flavor. With succulent red and black fruit expressions and soft cinnamon spice tones from oak, the wine is a whirlwind of complexity across the mid-palate. Emerging with a balanced structure and lifted tannic backbone, the wine lingers with persistence and intention, as flavors of dusty bitter dark chocolate, black plum and spiced dark cherries flutter across the finish. Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"Primarily from the Hardester Ranch in Pope Valley, with other major contributions from St. Helena, Soda Canyon and Glass Mountain, it's a medium to full-bodied effort, with bold flavors of cherries, cassis and cedar. It's easy, but not soft, nicely firm, with a long, silky-textured finish. Craig and Kathryn Hall Sacrashe-d onto the Napa Valley wine scene with the 1994 purchase of the Sacrashe property, at the eastern edge of the Rutherford AVA. Craig was a successful businessman; Kathryn's family had owned a vineyard in Mendocino when she was growing up. From 1997–2001, Kathryn served as U.S. ambassador to Austria, which put a brief hold on the couple's plans to expand their wine business, but in 2001, they purchased the property on Highway 29 that has become their signature attraction. Mike Reynolds came on board in 2002 as winemaker and has since been promoted to president; my extensive tasting visit was conducted with the winery's current vice president of winemaking, Megan Gunderson, who joined Hall in 2005 as an enologist." 90 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain District, California
"It's telling that even Togni's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill Vineyard—the early-drinking wine—needs a few years in the cellar. The barest hint of bell pepper accents bold cassis fruit and notes of wild thyme on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is fairly open and generous, with enough suppleness to suggest only five years of cellaring will be necessary. Big Basin Vineyards Syrah Rattlesnake Rock 2016, 0.75L
Syrah from Santa Cruz Mountains, California
"The 2016 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock is a powerful wine. Red fruit, iron, chalk, white pepper, game and incisive tannins give the 2016 a real feeling of drive that distinguishes it in the range. This is an especially mineral-driven, savory, taut Syrah, with all the elements in the right place. Dried herbs, licorice and crushed flowers add aromatic intrigue. It will be interesting to see if the 2016 gains a bit more volume in bottle. It is such a promising wine. The Côte-Rôtie selection Syrah from John Alban works so well here." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"From the home estate in the Santa Cruz Moutains, the 2016 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock is a firm, mineral-laced, yet concentrated and textured Syrah that's going to benefit from bottle age. Red and black fruits, spiced meat, bacon fat, and dried flower notes are just some of its nuances. A concentrated, classic mountain Syrah, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will cruise . . ." 94+ Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2016 Rattlesnake Rock bottling of syrah from Big Basin is one of their estate vineyard bottlings, as these vines were planted in 2000 in this windy parcel that sits between thirteen hundred and fourteen hundred feet above sea level. The 2016 version includes one-third whole clusters, was fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for twenty-one months in used, three hundred liter barrels. The cépages here includes two percent of viognier that was co-fermented with the syrah. The wine comes in at 13.9 percent octane and offers up a deep and properly reserved bouquet of cassis, black raspberry, grilled meats, pepper, a touch of black olive, fine stony soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and rock solid at the core, with a superb core of fruit, firm, ripe tannins and outstanding balance and grip on the long, nascently complex and very, very promising finish. There is a strong vein of iron in the soils here and this really comes across on the backend here. This is outstanding syrah in the making, with plenty of structure and outstanding depth of fruit. Think of old school Hermitage with a different, stony soil signature." 93 John Gilman, View From The Cellar

This tour de force is going to evolve gracefully for 30 years or more. It's one of the finest wines I've tasted from this estate."98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
"Arietta's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is outstanding. It will require a number of years to be at its most expressive and for the bouquet to fully open, but all of that potential is there. Deep, layered and so well balanced, the 2019 is impressive right out of the gate. There is so much to look forward to. Inky dark fruit and a whole range of cooler-climate mineral/savory notes typical of Coombsville punctuate the huge, redolent finish." 96 Points, Antonio Galloni

Andrew Will Proprietary Red Ciel du Cheval 2017, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Red Mountain, Washington
"Weighing in at 14.8% alcohol, the 2017 Red Wine Ciel du Cheval blends equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc from this outstanding site on Red Mountain. On the nose, it develops creosote tones alongside red florals, wintergreen, cigar ash and suggestions of Asian spices that all take shape in the glass. The palate is seamless and soft, delivering rich red and dark fruit flavors alongside black licorice and a hint of menthol. Glorious to consume now, the 2017 Ciel du Cheval could easily be a 20-year wine." 95 Owen Bargreen, Vinous
"Dark ruby in color, the 2017 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard is dark-fruited with juicy black plum, blackberry essence and dark cherry with hints of currants and cassis. Soft aromas of red flowers and pencil shavings waft with a dusty tension. Medium to full-bodied, the wine shows precision with an elegant frame and sturdy tannins, ending with a long-lingering, mineral finish with high-tone red fruits of dark, dusty cherry skin and red plum skin. This will drink fantastically for the next decade, but it won't do you wrong if you open a bottle tomorrow. Bravo!" 94 Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate

Tatomer Gruner Veltliner Paragon 2020, 0.75L
Grüner Veltliner from Santa Barbara County, California
"The 2020 Grüner Veltliner Paragon stands out because its distinctly savory, phenolic personality. Dried apricot, sage, menthol and earthy undertones all run through the 2020. At times the Paragon almost feels like a red wine, such is its presence and overall feel. I was blown away by the wines I tasted with Grahama Tatomer this year. Tatomer has thoughtfully expanded his range over the last few years. At the same time, he has become more selective about what goes into the vineyard designate whites, choosing to use the rest for his entry-level Hinter der Mauer, which is easily one of the very finest values in all of Santa Barbara. Tatomer has acquired a reputation as a Riesling specialist in California, indeed he is one of the variety’s foremost exponents, but he is every bit as skilled with Pinot Noir. These new releases are superb across the board." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Cobb Chardonnay Doc's Ranch Joann's Block 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast, California
"The 2018 Chardonnay Doc's Ranch: JoAnn's Block is a very distinctive wine. Dried flowers, mint, sage, chamomile, apricot, crushed rocks and almond are nicely layered. The 2018 is intensely mineral and savory, while the fruit is very much pushed into the background." 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon Lyndenhurst 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Helena, California
"This shows lots of chocolate and vanilla on the nose, together with ripe dark fruit and some wet earth. Floral undertones, too. Full-bodied and balanced with a meaty structure and ripe tannin. Yet, it’s easy to drink with a medium, fruity finish. Tight, dry and firm at the end. Modern and poised. Try from 2023." 94 Points, James Suckling
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lyndenhurst is composed of 77.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.4% Cabernet Franc, 4.1% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot and 3.8% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it skips out of the glass with lively blueberries, redcurrants and kirsch scents, plus hints of cedar chest, fragrant earth and rose hip tea. Medium-bodied, elegant and lively in the mouth, the palate is chock-full of bright and crunchy red and black fruits, finishing long and earthy." 93 Points, Lisa Perroti-Brown, Wine Advocate

Shafer Syrah Relentless 2018, 0.75L
Syrah from Napa Valley, California
"A blend of 94% Syrah and 6% Petite Sirah, the 2018 Relentless looks to be just about sensational, offering a dense purple color as well as rich, loaded notes of blackberries, currants, smoked meats, peppery spice, and violets. Reminding me of a great Cornas on steroids with its gamy, exotic character paired with beautiful richness, it has fabulous purity, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. This will undoubtedly be a great vintage for this cuvée, and my money is on it being one of the best yet." 96-98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

The Mascot Proprietary Red 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"The Mascot began as a family wine, unnamed, unlabeled—a blend made for and poured at our own table. The components were of the highest pedigree, harvested from the younger vines of the Harlan family domain. The domain traces its beginning to the founding in 1984 of Harlan Estate, located in the western hills of Oakville and conceived as a “first growth of California.” In 1996, the family established BOND, a portfolio of “Grand Cru” vineyards whose wines showcase the range of expression of cabernet sauvignon across distinct geographical sites within the Napa Valley. Promontory, whose land the family acquired in 2008, is led by the family’s second generation and represents a 21st-century approach to winegrowing. As these varied sites were gradually replanted, many of the young vines contributed to my project. Yet, despite these distinguished origins, my early endeavor could only hint at the individual character embodied by each of our grands vins." Producer Notes

Ramey Chardonnay Fort Ross-Seaview 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Fort Ross-Seaview, California
"The fruit for this impressive wine come entirely from the Martinelli Charles Ranch three miles in from the coast. Nutty, full-bodied and earthy, it shows a youthful grip around the edges of its otherwise lush, complex and generous richness, with a mineral-like quality of slate and salt on the finish." 94 Points, Virginia Boone, Wine Enthusiast

Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvingon from Napa Valley, California
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a gorgeous wine, especially for Dunn fans who want a wine to drink that won't take forever to come around. Dark and savory, with terrific depth, the 2018 is full of character. Black cherry, lavender, chocolate, sage, mint and cloves all open in the glass. The 2018 has just enough grip to have a good amount of classic structure, but not to the point of being forbidding. The Napa Cabernet is about 55% Howell Mountain and 45% Coombsville fruit. The 2018 is beautifully done and an absolute delight."94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
