Weinbach Riesling Cuvee Colette Alsace 2021, 0.75L
Riesling from Alsace, Alsace

“Stunning nose of yellow peach, pomelo and fresh pineapple that pulls you into this simultaneously ripe and vibrant dry Riesling. The ripe citrus flavors run right through the palate into the long finish that’s so uplifting it makes you feel good to be alive. So polished and precise. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.” 95, Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com, Apr 2023

The 2021 Riesling Cuvée Colette is from the Bonnes Terres lieu-dit just underneath the Schlossberg, on granite. The vines are between 50 and 60 years old, rooting in deeper topsoil, so there never is hydric stress. The nose is shy, allowing only an occasional flicker of citrus, but the palate comes in with lovely focus and citric verve. Lemon zest and pith frame the juicy, light bodied flow. Lovely, light and super-refreshing. The long lemon finish is totally mouth-watering. (Bone-dry)” 92, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous Jan 2023

Cantenac Brown 2010, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Margaux, Bordeaux

“One of the finest wines to come from Cantenac Brown for many years, this is powerful and dense, dominated by Cabernet Franc tannins and fruits. The structure has a smooth, polished character that locates it firmly in Margaux, giving elegance and discreet fruitiness. Age this fine wine for many years.” 95, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb 2013

“Beautiful dark inky purple with ruby highlights. The difference with 2009 is clear in terms of structure, style and knitted-down fruit. They are both brilliant, and quality-wise it's hard to pick as they have such different personalities. Higher acidity in 2010 set against confident tannins means your mouth is watering by the mid palate and it doesn't let up. Tons of black fruits and evident spice, slate, cigar box and liquorice bud, savoury and still zipped up. It needs a few more years in bottle before it will really start to soften.” 94, Decanter, Apr 2020

“The 2010 Cantenac Brown performed extremely well in the Southwold blind tasting. Here, the nose demands coaxing from the glass before revealing beautifully defined blackberry, boysenberry earth and mint aromas, perhaps a little more floral than a couple of years ago. Medium-bodied on the palate, this 2010 is focused and delivers plenty of substance; it's quite linear at the moment, yet sophisticated, and is as fresh as a daisy on the finish. Superb. Tasted at the Cantenac Brown vertical at the château.” 94, Neal Martin, Vinous, Jun 2021

Haut-Bailly 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Pessac Leognan, Bordeaux

"The 2017 Haut-Bailly is racy and polished to the core, with no hard edges and just exceptional beauty. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, spice, new leather, incense, and grilled herb overtones infuse the 2017 with striking layers of nuance, but it is the wine's feel that really elevates it into the realm of Pessac-Léognan's best. The 2017 is an elegant and exceptionally understated Haut-Bailly." Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, Mar 2020

La Gravette de Certan 2018, 0.75L
Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon from Pomerol, Bordeaux

"Currant, chocolate, wet-earth and cedar aromas follow through to a medium to full body with integrated, refined tannins that build on the palate and follow through in a polished way. Give it three or four years to open, as it seems rather tight. Almost all merlot with some cabernet sauvignon. Try after 2025." 95 James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com, Mar 2021

"The second wine of this beautiful estate certainly doesn't taste like a second wine, and the 2018 La Gravette De Certan certainly put a smile on my face. Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 50% new barrels, it has the same supple, seamless, sexy style of the Grand Vin, only with the volume turned down slightly. Redcurrants, truffle, tobacco, hints of chocolate, and damp earth all emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a beautiful core of sweet fruit, silky tannins, and a great finish. It can be drunk today or cellared for 15 years or more." 94  Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com

"The 2018 La Gravette de Certan is a gorgeous second wine. Pliant, creamy and so expressive, La Gravette is everything a second wine should be. Juicy dark cherry fruit, spice, licorice, new leather and lavender fill out the layers effortlessly. No, the 2018 is not quite the 2016, but it's close." 92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Vinous.com

Lafon-Rochet 2016, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot from St. Estephe, Bordeaux

“The great improvements at this estate have really paid off in this fine wine. Owned by another branch of the family that owns Pontet-Canet, the estate has produced a beautifully structured wine, packed with tannins and full of delicious blackberry fruits. It's a wine with a great future...” Wine Enthusiast 95-97 Points

“Plenty of fruit and concentration to this wine, and it’s buttressed by the tannins. Muscular and intense. Full-bodied yet reserved and tight. Excellent.” James Suckling 93-94 Points

The 2016 Lafon-Rochet has a very engaging bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit laced with pencil shavings and loamy scents. In fact, the more you nose this wine, the more its complexity becomes apparent. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine line of acidity, ripe and generous yet maintaining outstanding tension and revealing a judicious touch of peppercorns on the finish, which fans out gloriously. This is a fabulous Lafon-Rochet and certainly the best bottle of 2016 that I have encountered. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting. 95 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous

“The 2016 Lafon Rochet is a blend of 25% Merlot, 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc cropped at 46 hectoliters per hectare and matured in 50% new oak. The harvest was between 1 October and 20 October. The alcohol is 13.6%, which is just a little higher here than say Cos d'Estournel or Montrose. It has a very succinct bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and light oyster shell aromas, classic in style, more reserved than I found the 2015 Lafon Rochet last year. The palate is medium-bodied with powerful tannin on the entry, a keen line of acidity (3.65 pH), fine symmetry with a pleasant rondeur on the finish sprinkled with black pepper and tobacco. This is a very fine Lafon Rochet from Basile Tesseron and his team.” Wine Advocate 91-93 Points

“Very pure, with a lilac note leading the way for racy red currant and cassis flavors. The finish is alive, featuring a brisk iron note and long, pleasantly austere structure. Nicely done.” Wine Spectator 90-93 Points

Lassegue 2020, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

“Wide, powdery, fine but firm tannins; a lovely density to this. Concentrated and intense, very straight and streamlined. Finessed and focused. Clearly powerful, the energy is apparent, but all the elements are kept quite tight and controlled, so you're not getting so much expansion or nuance necessarily. Still, well worked with clarity to the fruit and tannins. Wet stone, liquorice, toasted caramel all giving elements of wood but integrated and supportive. Feels like a sleeping giant, will be good in time, sleek and stylish.” 95, Georgina Hindle, Decanter, Feb 2023

Le Carillon de l`Angelus 2018, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"Wild-strawberry, blackberry and blueberry aromas with some spices and herbs. It’s full-bodied with a balance of firm yet elegant tannins. The savory mid-palate leads to a clean finale with serious length. Hard not to drink this now, but it needs four or five years to show its true excellence. Second wine of Angelus. Try after 2025." 95 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Apr 2019

Les Forts de Latour 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Pauillac, Bordeaux

"The 2017 Les Forts de Latour is composed of 65.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot, and 0.8% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet in color, it comes galloping out with bold notions of warm cassis, blackberry pie, and dried roses, plus suggestions of crushed rocks, wild sage, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is completely filled with delicate waves of bright, refreshing black and red berry layers, supported by super-ripe, super-fine tannins, finishing long and perfumed. This is stunning." 95 Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, TheWineIndependent.com

"This is really minerally with crushed stones and dark berries. Some licorice. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a beautiful, tight and focused finish. Such energy, delivered down a straight line." 94-95 James Suckling

"The 2017 Les Forts de Latour has a stupendous bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and oyster shell aromas, very well defined and focused and to be honest, much more intense than I was expecting. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, so elegant and poised with delicate touches of graphite and cracked black pepper towards the pixelated finish. What an outstanding, over-performing Les Forts de Latour." 94 Neal Martin, Vinous

Montrose 2012, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from St. Estephe, Bordeaux

“Produced in the magnificent new cellars at Montrose, this big, tannic wine is powerful and concentrated. It has something of the classic severity of a wine from this estate, but that's mitigated by the ripe, generous blackberry fruitiness and the final freshness of a 2012. A great success, to drink from 2022.” 95, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, May 2015

“From a blend of 37% Merlot, 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, Montrose managed to take advantage of the good weather that returned in October, and brought in its last grapes on 20 October. Its gravelly soil also meant it fared far better than the more clay-led St-Estèphe terroirs. Great structure with a wonderful floral aroma and touches of cedar, with good persistency. Astringency on the tannins suggests a good life ahead.” 94, Decanter, Apr 2015

The 2012 Montrose has a taut and focused bouquet with crisp blackberry, tobacco and light earthy scents on the nose. Fine vigour and class evident here. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, fine acidity, lightly spiced with a nicely proportioned and focused finish. This is a solid, almost swarthy Montrose, though it is surpassed by more recent vintages. Tasted twice at Bordeaux Index's Ten Year-On tasting and blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting. 94, Neal Martin, Vinous Feb 2022

Quintus 2021, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Malbec from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"The brightness and transparency of the aromas are impressive, with fresh flowers, blue fruit, crushed stones, lavender and orange blossoms. Medium-bodied, with a tight and focused palate of linear and integrated tannins. Fresh and tangy. Vivid at the end. A unique expression of the vintage and St. Emilion, with so much crunchy fruit. 68.2% merlot, 31.3% cabernet franc and 0.5% malbec." 95, James Suckling, Apr 2024

"The 2021 Quintus is the most elegant wine I have ever tasted here, by a wide measure. Nearly half of this fruit is from the former Grand Pontet property, and that fruit seems to bring a measure of aromatic intensity and freshness these wines have lacked in some vintages. All the elements are so well balanced. Bright saline notes linger on the finish. This is impressive for the year." 92-94, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022

Domaine Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, strawberries and raspberries mingled with peonies and licorice, Ponsot's 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, concentrated mid-palate framed by ripe tannins and lively acids. This has turned out very well indeed. 95 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2002, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

“I am surprised by how delicate the 2002 La Tâche is, especially from magnum. Bright, crystalline and nuanced, the 2002 speaks more to energy and finesse than the more powerful, resonant expression of the year that is found in so many other 2002s. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 2006, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2006 Richebourg Grand Cru has a wonderful blackberry, brine and slightly peppery nose, the stem addition maybe a little more tangible than I would have expected. It coalesces in the glass, scents of black tea emerging with time. The palate displays an effortless balance, the fine tannins framing layers of black fruit with veins of blue. The sappiness comes through on the second half that is poised and satisfyingly long. Superb. Tasted at Hide restaurant in London. (Drink between 2019-2045)." 95, Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2019

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 2011, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2011 Richebourg is restrained on the initial attack. The aromas open slowly on the palate with notes of plummy fruit, firm, almost saline minerality, and a hint of wild herbs. The texture is massive, with firm tannins, a dense feel on palate and a tightly-wound finish that will take years to unspool. There is nothing astringent, tart, or bitter, but the wine needs time to open and then should last for decades. Picked 7-8 September; 13,971 bottles produced. (Drink between 2025-2060)." 95, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, Jan 2023

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant Marey Monge 2006, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"A much firmer wine, the 2006 Romanée-St. Vivant is backed up by firm veins of mouthwatering salinity and acidity. The characteristic Romanée-St. Vivant perfumed bouquet is very much in evidence, while there is a sense of energy and pure drive that distinguishes it from the Échézeaux. The RSV can be drunk today, but knowing how these wines age, patience will be rewarded as 2006 still isn’t showing all of its cards. (Drink between 2021-2046)." 95, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2015

Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Bonnes-Mares 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musigny, Burgundy

“The 2021 Bonnes-Mares from Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier is a stunning wine in the making. The sappy nose soars from the glass in a beautifully transparent blend of cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, pigeon, a complex base of chalky soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of mustard seed and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, soil-driven and sports superb depth at the core, with lovely focus and complexity, fine-grained tannins and a very long, refined and seamlessly balanced finish. Great juice. (Drink between 2036-2100).” 95, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, Nov 2022

Billecart-Salmon Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut NV, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne

"Really attractive ripe and pure chardonnay sourced from the Côte de Blancs villages of Avize, Cramant, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This has bright ripe peaches and nectarines in addition to mangoes, lemons and – not to mention some background chalky aromas. The palate's a riot of fleshy and flavorsome chardonnay fruit with a helping of stone fruits and another of green mango flavors and deeper-set citrus zest. Seamless balance flows to the finish." 95 James Suckling.com

"Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs lends itself to a Champagne that is finely textured and impressively fruity and structured. The wine has a steely edge that suggests this bottling is young but that also has beautiful fruit and minerality." 94 Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

"Medium yellow-green color, silver highlights, and a fine, persistent mousse. Delicate floral undertones with white stone fruit nuances and notes of subtle mango, floral honey, meadow herbs, biscuit, apricot, and almonds. Creamy texture, juicy and elegant, with a delicate acidity; yellow apple and baked bread on a mineral-salty finish with very good length; a multi-faceted accompaniment to food." 94 Falstaff Magazin

"Exhibiting aromas of citrus oil, tart stone fruit, freshly baked bread and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, its sweet core of fruit framed by racy acids and chalky structure." 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Bollinger Brut Special Cuvee NV, 0.75L
Champagne Blend from Champagne, Champagne

“If it’s good enough for James Bond, it’s good enough for you. Bollinger Champagne has made a number of cameos in James Bond films over the year. This non-vintage Special Cuvée is an example of a classic Champagne done well. Notes of marzipan on the nose and the palate give toastiness and leesy notes, specifically sourdough. It’s classic for a reason and would only elevate any table it finds itself on. (Drink between 2022-2032).” 95, Brianne Cohen, Decanter, Dec 2023

Henriot Cuvee Hemera Grand Cru 2006, 0.75L
Champagne Blend from Champagne, Champagne

“The 2006 Henriot “Cuvée Hemera” is a beautifully refined, complex and youthful example of the vintage. The wine is composed from a cépages of fifty percent each chardonnay and pinot noir, sourced from some of the very finest crus in all of Champagne. The pinot noir hails from the Montagne de Reims villages of Verzy, Verzenay and Mailly, while the chardonnay comes from Avize, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte de Blancs. The wine was aged twelve years sur latte and finished with a dosage of five grams per liter. The wine is truly stunning on the nose, wafting from the glass in an elegant blend of apple, pear, a touch of hazelnut, warm bread, a beautiful base of soil and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with a superb core of fruit, bright, zesty acids, precise focus, elegant mousse and a very long, complex finish that beautifully weaves fruit tones with mineral undertow. The 2006 vintage was a hot year and this wine’s steely spine of acidity and impeccable balance are testament to just how great a bottle the Hemera has turned out to be! I cannot wait to taste it in a more classically racy vintage like 2008 or 2012! Great juice. (Drink between 2022-2050).” 95, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, May 2022

Jerome Prevost La Closerie Les Beguines LC18 Extra-Brut NV, 0.75L
Pinot Meunier from Gueux, Champagne

"The NV Extra Brut Les Béguines LC 18 is a wine of immense charm and generosity of spirit. Mingling aromas of walnuts, fenugreek, pear, yellow orchard fruit, licorice, white flowers and buttery pastry with evocations of peach and apricot, it's full-bodied, fleshy and voluptuous, with a broad and textural attack that segues into an ample, enveloping core, concluding with a sapid finish. "These were the nicest grapes I've ever seen when assessed simply as fruit," Prévost remarks, contrasting the 2018 crop with the smaller berries and thicker skins of, for instance, 2015 "which were great grapes from which to make wine." 95 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Pierre Gimonnet Blanc de Blancs Chouilly Grand Cru Spécial Club 2015, 0.75L

"A super-elegant and very graceful champagne that you sink into like a huge, velvet sofa. The ravishing orange-blossom aromas make this really hard to resist! Very suave and silky finish. From vines planted in 1951 and 1991." 95 James Suckling

"The 2015 Extra- Brut Special Club Chouilly Grand Cru is a very pretty, exotic wine. Tangerine oil, jasmine, lemon peel, mint and white pepper add tons of aromatic flair to this airy, gracious Champagne. There is a sense of transparency to the Chouilly that is quite appealing. Le Vieux Donjon Chateauneuf du Pape 2020, 0.75L
Grenache Noir / Syrah / Mourvèdre from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is another winner from this team, and readers can’t go wrong here. Based on 75% Grenache, 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with the balance Cinsault, it was partially destemmed and brought up all in foudre. This beauty just about jumps out of the glass with its Provençal aromatics of ripe cherries, ground pepper, saddle leather, garrigue, and spice. These carry to a medium to full-bodied wine that has the vintage’s charming, pure character front and center, yet still brings good mid-palate density and ripe tannins. Buy a case, count yourself lucky, and enjoy bottles any time ..." 95 Jeb Dunnuck

"Excellent depth of black fruits, but the Mediterranean herb aromas dominate the fruit. Then the concentrated and very structured palate sweeps you away in a gentle and sensual way. Wonderful interplay of ripeness and expertly crafted fine tannins through the long, elegant finish. A cuvee 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% cinsault that were co-fermented, then matured in foudre. Drink or hold." 95 JamesSuckling.com

"Vieux Donjon's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is a balanced, harmonious effort that offers up pretty aromas of strawberries, raspberries and cherries, accented by hints of crushed stone and dusty earth. It's full-bodied and supple, with a long, silky-textured finish. Richer and riper than the 2021, it shows great harmony and texture. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes." 94 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate
