Couhins Blanc 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Pessac Leognan, Bordeaux

"This estate makes a brilliant white, and their 2020 Château Couhins Blanc is pure gold, offering a bright citrus and lemon zest core as well as lots of white flowers and honeyed mineral-like nuances. Medium-bodied, bright, racy, yet also concentrated, it's going to benefit from three to five years of bottle age and keep for two decades." 96 Jeb Dunnuck

"Freshly shelled peas on the nose with green apple aromas. Zingy and full of life straight away, vibrant yet so well controlled. A beautiful glass of wine with excellent acidity, weight and texture. It has a lovely salty, iodine tang to the lemon, lime, orange rind, pineapple, grapefruit pith and green apple. Thrilling and vibrant but clean and crisp. So well worked, focused so give this a year or two for it to settle and expand but this is a great white from 2020. A wine to buy, and more importantly drink and enjoy." 95 Georgie Hindle, Decanter Magazine

"Pure, fresh, and mineral aromas, pale stone fruit, ripe citrus, and some grassy notes. Dense and fresh palate, nice balance with both power and precision, elegant fruit, fine extract, stony notes, and a very long finish: excellent." 95 Andreas Larsson, Tasted.Wine

Les Champs Libres 2022, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux, Bordeaux

*Pre-Arrival* - ETA April 2024

"Apple, pineapple, mango, apricot, pear, blossom, clean and flinty aromas. Fresh and bright, forward, well built - so energetic and vibrant but controlled, not too much acidity or sharpness. Great aromatic complexity as well as a comforting juiciness with depth as well as vibrancy with saline, ginger, lemon balm and pineapple flavours. Finishes so long with bitter orange and lemon, but also a cool chalkiness that lingers. Just fantastic." 96 Georgie Hindle, Decanter Magazine

Comte Armand Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Pommard, Burgundy

"One of the best Côte de Beaune reds of the vintage. The four blocks that make up the blend of this justly celebrated Pommard Premier Cru red amount to 5.23ha and range in age between 36 and 100 years' old. Aged in one third new wood, it has spice and tobacco pouch top notes, layers of red berry fruit, fresh acidity and firm, yet granular tannins.(Drink between 2024-2035)" 96 Tim Atkin MW, Decanter

"As usual, I sampled the various constituents of the cuvée before tasting a representative blend of the 2018 Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux, and as ever, the whole is superior to the sum of the parts. Wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of raspberries, cherries, peonies, spices, orange rind, cassis, woodsmoke and espresso roast, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, its lively and concentrated core of fruit framed by rich structuring tannins, concluding with a long and sapid finish. This promises to number among the Côte de Beaune's wines of the vintage, and it will be well worth seeking out." 93-95 William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Cuvée de Très Vieilles Vignes 2017, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Très Vieilles Vignes has turned out even better than I anticipated, unfurling in the glass with a magical bouquet of cassis, plums and blackberries mingled with dark chocolate, spices, sweet soil tones, licorice and black truffle. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's extraordinarily sumptuous and concentrated, framed by velvety tannins that caress the palate, and underpinned by lively acids, concluding with a long and expansive finish. Pierre-Jean Roty compares it to the 2012 and 2009 renditions, which readers who follow this domaine will know is high praise indeed." 96 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

"The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a backward, primal bouquet of dense red berry fruit, scents of briar and wild hedgerow and wilted rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Fresh and focused. showing a touch of blood orange and quince toward the detailed yet surprisingly muscular finish. This has a long future ahead. Excellent." 95 Neal Martin, Vinous, Vinous.com, Jan 2020

"A cool, elegant and restrained nose flashes an array of various red fruit scents that include cherry, raspberry and a hint of pomegranate, along with soft earth, spice and discreet wood nuances. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the delicious, intense and well-detailed medium weight flavors that deliver fine depth and persistence on the well-balanced and firmer finish. Unusually for this wine, it's not as dense as the Griotte though it's perhaps a bit more refined than usual." 94 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Jan 2020

Billecart Salmon Brut Rose NV, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay / Pinot Meunier from Champagne, Champagne

"This is by far my favourite rosé: so fresh and mouth-watering .... It is a blend of 35% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, cold-fermented as a red wine in stainless steel .... The intensely flowery bouquet is followed by a palate crammed with strawberry and dried flower flavours, then a joyous finish." 96 James Halliday

95 Huon Hooke

"The NV Champagne Brut Rosé is an attractive pale salmon hue, with a fresh perfume of wild strawberry, ripe peach, white and red flowers, a hint of tropical fruit, and grapefruit. The palate is rounded, with fruit up front and through the mid-palate, and it has a silky and fresh lift. There is a wonderful ease and drinkability to this wine, which delivers balance and finesse." 94 Audrey Fricke, JebDunnuck.com

"A delicate pink color is accompanied by gorgeous, sweet cherry, strawberry, and mineral-like scents, assertive medium-bodied flavors, a delicate, crisp personality, and surprising depth as well as persistence. A beautiful berry character in the finish adds to this impeccable rosé’s captivating style." 94 Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate

"Medium salmon pink color, with silver highlights and a delicate, persistent mousse. Fine, fresh cherry fruit, a touch of raspberry, nuances of lime zest and a floral touch. A juicy, white peach note, then mineral and freshly structured with a salty lemony finish; notes of cranberry on the finish." 94 Falstaff Magazin

Drappier Grande Sendree Brut 2010, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne

"Pale gold in colour. On entry there’s a steely floral and sweet smoke note and then an explosion of citrus oil and pale yellow fruits. It thrums with an embrace that gives a sense of so much to come, with good weight behind a svelte and elegant frame. Structured and still so youthful. The 2008 was monumental but this seems to have as much presence. Up there with any of Champagne’s prestige wines. 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. Single vineyard. 35% fermented in oak. Seven years on lees. Dosage: 5.5g/L. (Drink between 2022-2030)" 96 Tim Hall, Decanter

"The 2010 Brut Grande Sendrée has turned out very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with youthful aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, white peach and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and concentrated, it's youthfully tightly wound, with a racy spine of acidity, an elegant pinpoint mousse and a penetrating, chalky finish. This can't quite match the plenitude of the 2009, but it may outpace it with time, as this is an impressively vibrant, structured young Grande Sendrée." 93+ William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Jerome Prevost La Closerie Fac-simile Extra Brut Rose Champagne LC18 NV, 0.75L
Pinot Meunier from Gueux, Champagne

"Disgorged without dosage, the NV Extra Brut Rosé Fac-similie (LC18) bursts with aromas of red berries, plums and spices mingled with freshly baked bread and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and sapid, with delicate structure and an enveloping core of irresistibly succulent fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. While the Fac-similie shares the charm of its white counterpart, its gently phenolic grip seems to temper some of the exuberance of the vintage." 96 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Jean-Luc Pasquet Grande Champagne Cognac L’Organic 10 NV, 0.75L
Cognac from Cognac Grande Champagne, Cognac

"Rather than the traditional XO, the new generation at Pasquet has chosen to put age statements on the labels of its younger bottlings. This one is a minimum of 10 years old, all from their estate in Grande Champagne. The intense nose offers alluring jasmine, smoked herbs, toffee and an underlying aroma of Earl Grey tea. Full of juicy citrus in the mouth, balanced with notes of ginger and green tobacco. Pretty and powerful, and offers good value. (40% abv)" 96 Points Jason Wilson, Vinous

Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux 2020, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Loire

"There are many shouty wines in the world, but the 2020 Le Mont Moelleux is understated, which is highly attractive. There's finesse and elegance to this sweeter style (49g/L). Delicate exotic characters such as dried papaya and pineapple sit alongside floral notes. While there's excellent concentration, this remains delicate. The finish is appetizing thanks to fine acidity and phenolic structure, which hold the mouth reassuringly on the finish. An excellent wine that offers real drinkability in youth thanks to its appealing primary fruit, but there's no hurry at all to drink. A smidgen more length would take it into even higher realms (although, let's be fair, it's not far off as good as it gets). (Drink between 2021-2035)" 96 Rebecca Gibb, Vinous.com

"The 2020 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux offers a deep, complex and concentrated bouquet of highly ripe and candied fruits yet with this coolish shimmering lime zest probably coming from the pebbly silex and deep green clay soil of this nine-hectare "grand cru." Full-bodied, rich and round on the palate, this is a dense, viscous, mouth-filling, lush and mellow yet also tight and piquant Le Mont whose complexity is lifted by dramatic drive and tension and carried to a long and salivating finish by lingering salinity. You can never go wrong in buying a Le Mont and in particular this one. This is a great effort from a very particular vintage that forced the harvest team to make the strictest selections. It was well worth the effort." 96 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Bernard Burgaud Cote-Rotie 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Côte Rôtie, Rhône

“Deep, vivid ruby. Highly perfumed, incisive aromas of cherry and raspberry, incense, exotic spices and licorice, plus a bright mineral overtone that builds in the glass. Youthful, palate-staining red and blue fruit and spicecake flavors show superb depth as well as urgency, and a core of juicy acidity adds support and a bracing cut. Finishes with reverberating floral and spice notes, subtle tannic grip and lingering minerality. This is shaping up to be, perhaps, the most impressive wine I have ever had from this Domaine, which I have been visiting since 1989.”  96 Vinous

Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Barolo Riserva Bussia Cascina Dardi 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

Just bottled, the 2015 Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi is a real powerhouse. This full-bodied, potent Barolo packs a huge punch. It won't be ready to drink anytime soon, that much is obvious. Time in the glass brings out aromatic intensity and inner perfume. Spice and blood orange accents lend an exotic quality to this dark, layered Barolo. The Riserva is a wine for readers who appreciate the natural fragility of artisan wines, wines that aren't perfect but that perfectly embody the human spirit.” 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2021

G. D. Vajra Barolo Ravera 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"Lifted and herbaceous, the 2017 Barolo Ravera is noted by aromas of fresh pine, ripe red cherry, licorice, and menthol. The palate has depth without weight and is noted by ripe raspberry fruit, apricot, and black tea. The G.D. Vajra estate is based within the commune of Barolo, where Giuseppe and Aldo Vajra helm the winemaking responsibilities. Giuseppe, who took more of a leadership role in 2008, has been instrumental in continuing to develop the family estate, while Isonzo Vajra leads in vineyard management. Most recently they have completed the expansion of their cellar space, and they are also releasing their wines a touch later to allow the additional time in bottle to soften any harsh edges. As of the 2019 vintage, both the G.D.Vajra and Luigi Baudana estates are certified organic." 96 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com

"The 2017 Barolo Ravera is gorgeous right out of the gate. I am so impressed with its depth and pedigree. Rose petal, sweet red berry fruit, lavender, spice and dried herbs are all finely delineated in a Barolo of tremendous presence. Orange peel, cinnamon and cedar develop later, adding shades of dimension. Time in the glass brings out the wine's stature and power. The 2017 is going to be fascinating to follow. Today, it is just breathtaking. That's all there is to it." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"The 2017 Barolo Bricco Delle Viole is the darker fruited of the G.D. Vajra sites and has rounded floral aromatics of crushed roses, resin, and cranberry cocktail. The palate is ripe and inviting, with building structure and notes of fresh red cherry, blood orange, and clove. The warmth of the vintage is felt without sacrificing lift. Drink 2025-2050. "The 2017 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is classy and elegant to the core. Medium in body and wonderfully translucent, the 2017 captures all of the finesse of this site. Naturally, the 2017 also shows the ripeness of the year, but it retains its sublime sense of poise. The 2017 Bricco delle Viole is one of the clear stand outs of the year. Luigi Baudana Barolo Cerretta 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"A sweet perfume lifts from the 2017 Barolo Cerretta, with fresh violets, kirsch, cinnamon, and sage. The palate is energetic with forward fruit through the mid-palate with persistence, with tea leaf and present but well-integrated tannins. The Cerretta displays the elegance that is possible within the 2017 vintage. Drink 2022-2040. Since 2009, Luigi Baudana has been under the operation and ownership of the G.D. Vajra estate from Barolo. As with the Vajra estate, Giuseppe and Aldo manage the winemaking process, along with Giuseppe’s brother Isidoro, the vineyard manager. They continue to consult with Luigi for his understanding of the land and experience. They utilize primarily 15- to 17-hectoliter Slavonian barrels for aging, as the size of the cellar dictates. For the Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba bottling, selections are made from the crus of Baudana, Cerretta, and Costabella. With the 2019 vintage, they are now certified organic. (Drink between 2022-2040)" 96 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com

"A dark, somber wine, the 2017 Barolo Cerretta shows the more potent, brooding side of Serralunga. Black cherry, gravel, smoke, cured meats, cloves and menthol add to an impression of virile intensity and pure power. Readers will have to be patient here, but there is certainly a ton to look forward to. This is another impressive showing from Baudana and the Vajra family." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Montepeloso Eneo IGT 2020, 0.75L
Montepulciano / Sangiovese from Toscana, Tuscany

"This is a blend of 65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malvasia Nera from a warm vintage. The 2020 Eneo doesn't have the same pulp and mass that we see in the 2019 vintage; however, it does show lots of richness and intensity, especially in terms of bouquet. Perhaps the aromas are more focused and sharp in this wine, and there is a pretty mineral note that cuts a through line connecting the bouquet to the medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. This vintage feels more accessible compared to the 2019, and the alcohol content is a high 15%. Production is 29,000 bottles". 96, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2023

Podere Il Palazzino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Grosso Sanese 2016, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

"Il Palazzino's Chianti Classico Grosso Sanese is often one of the great wines of Chianti Classico, as it is once again in 2016. Dark, somber and explosive, the 2016 possesses off the charts intensity to match its brooding personality. Black cherry, scorched earth, tobacco, licorice and incense hit the palate. Deep and layered in the glass, the 2016 is super-impressive. What a wine. Il Palazzino is, inexplicably, one of the most under-the-radar estates in all of Chianti Classico. Alessandro and Andrea Sderci craft, rich, large-scaled Chianti Classicos that capture all of the natural intensity of Monti in Chianti, where the estate is located. Readers who have not tasted these wines owe it to themselves to do so." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Dominio de Pingus Ribera del Duero PSI 2021, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

""The 2021 PSI is 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha sourced from old vines planted in calcareous soils and was aged for up to 16 months in mostly sizeable French oak barrels. In the glass, it's garnet-red with a light purple sheen. The nose offers blood notes along with sour cherry and blackberry, intertwined with violets and dried flowers, resulting in a layered, complex profile. On the palate, it's dry and velvety. Chalky tannins define a compact mouthfeel and long-lasting fruit and floral flavors. The 2021 is a distinctive Ribera del Duero with excellent nuance and agility". 96, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous, Sep 2023

Vega-Sicilia Valbuena 5° 2018, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

"The 2018 Valbuena comes from a cooler vintage with good yields that required sorting and selecting in search of a happy and vertical version of Valbuena, pushing a little more and giving the wine a little more oak, especially American (5%). It was produced with 96% Tinto Fino and 4% Merlot that went through a three- to four-day cold soak and fermented with indigenous yeasts followed by malolactic in stainless steel. The élevage was in new and used 225-liter oak barrels and 21,000-liter oak vats. It has 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.8 and 4.78 grams of acidity (tartaric), so it's ripe and with mellow acidity that gives it a mellow mouthfeel. This is a very spicy vintage for Valbuena, getting closer to the style of Único (while at the same time I felt the 2018 Pintia from Toro was getting closer to the aromatics of some vintages of Valbuena, like 2010). It was a late-ripening year with a tendency toward freshness in the wines. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with very fine tannins that made the wine nicely textured and very elegant. There is a lot of regularity in the Valbuena of the last few years, here with more tension and freshness of the 2017, a little more balsamic even. 180,580 bottles, 5,528 magnums and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in May 2021." 96, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi Quintanilla 2019, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Álava, Euskadi

"Fresh yet deep nose, exuding aromas of dark blackberries, blueberries and a hint of iodine, violet, cream and mineral. Pretty elegant on the palate with a medium to full body, unleashing plenty of chalky tannins that give a solid bite to the finish. Dense yet still fluid, with a lengthy finish. Beautiful balance. Tempranillo. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." 96 James Suckling, Jamessuckling.com, Sept 2022

"The bottled 2019 Quintanilla combines the power of the year and the place with 14.68% alcohol and soft acidity. There are more tannins, and it has the chalky sensation of the limestone. It also has notions of ripe berries and the character of this year's wines, keeping the freshness. This is austere and mineral within the ripeness. It comes from a 1.13-hectare plot on limestone and sandstone soils planted in 1951 in the village of Elvillar, a walled, old-vine plot located in what was the 15th-century village of San Lorenzo de Quintanilla. The vineyard tends to produce powerful wines, and its grapes were always used to make the Pagos Viejos. This has some rugged tannins that give it a little rusticity, a character of the plot that tends to get stressed in warmer years. 2,800 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021." 93+ Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, July 2022

Guimaro Finca Meixeman Ribeira Sacra 2019, 0.75L
Mencia / Brancellao / Merenzao / Garnacha / Mouratón / Negreda / Sousón from Ribeira Sacra, Galicia

"The single-vineyard 2019 Finca Meixeman comes from one of their oldest vineyards, planted with a field blend of 80% Mencía and 20% Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha, Mouratón, Negreda and Sousón. It has an austere nose that benefitted from being in the glass for over one hour, so decanting in advance might be a good idea if you are going to pull the cork any time soon. It has subtle notes of violets and wild berries and herbs. It has 13% alcohol but, despite that, feels a little riper than the other 2019s, perhaps more approachable and gourmand. There are some 8,000 bottles. It was bottled in February 2021." 96 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Remelluri Rioja Gran Reserva 2014, 0.75L
Tempranillo / Grenache / Graciano from Rioja Alavesa, La Rioja

"This still-youthful top wine from Remelluri's oldest vines has the quintessential Telmo Rodriguez-era combination of freshness, silkiness of tannin and aromatic detail, with purring power and wonderful concentration of blackcurrant fruit. One to hang on to for as long as possible." 96 David Williams, Decanter

"Elegant bouquet with beautiful, clear fruit. Notes of blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Hints of orange zest, Christmas spices, and smoky nuances. Powerful yet elegant on the palate, with juicy acidity and plenty of dark fruit. Fine-grained tannins and a long finish." 96 Falstaff Magazin

"A considerable step up on the 2013 release, this is a pale, refined, elegant Gran Reserva made from Tempranillo with 30% Garnacha and Graciano grown on poor limestone soils up to 780 metres. Floral, savoury and sweet, with fine tannins, some wild mountain herbs and bright acidity. Not a blockbuster, this is all about finesse and balance." 95 Tim Atkin MW, TimAtkin.com

"It's a little riper than the 2013, but it feels very complete. This is a red for the long run, and I am truly impressed by its texture and the quality of the tannins." 94 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

"A cool, creamy red with blueberry and black-cherry aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, round and polished tannins and a flavorful finish." 94 James Suckling

Arnot-Roberts Syrah Clary Ranch 2017, 0.75L
Syrah from Sonoma Coast, California

"The 2017 Syrah Clary Ranch is striking. Deep and resonant on the palate, the 2017 has so much to say. Some of the angular edges and intense savoriness the Clary Ranch can show have been soften by the intense heat of the year. Silky, fine tannins wrap around a core of dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and pepper. A Syrah of power and structural intensity, the Clary Ranch is incredibly distinctive, and that is in a lineup in which many of the wines are exceptional. Two thousand-seventeen is a superb vintage for the Clary Ranch Syrah." 96 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The full-bodied palate's youthfully concentrated fruits are supported by an abundance of silky tannins and offers notable freshness that lifts the finish. Beautiful now, it will benefit from another 3-5 years in bottle. 636 cases were made." 96 Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Nov 2021

"More iron, ground pepper, charred meats, and tapenade notes emerge from the 2018 Syrah Block B, a rich, powerful, yet focused and elegant Syrah that does everything right. Offering plenty of chalky minerality, ripe, building tannins, and a great finish, this brilliant Syrah will keep for at least a decade. The wine is 100% Syrah that was mostly destemmed (28% whole clusters) and spent 19 months in 82% new French oak."96 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, Sept 2021

Littorai Pinot Noir B.A. Thieriot Vineyard 2016, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, California

"The 2016 Pinot Noir Thieriot Vineyard Estate is fabulous. Bright, perfumed and finely sculpted, the Thieriot captures all the potential I sensed last year when I tasted it from barrel. As always, the Thieriot is a wine of tension, power and salivating energy. More than that though, the Thieriot oozes character. As usual, Ted Lemon offers terrific perspective that comes from both experience and working across a number of sites in both Sonoma and Anderson Valley. Lemon told me he saw more fruit that needed to be sorted out because of heat in Anderson Valley than in Sonoma. '2017 was a warm year,' Ted Lemon opined. 'But I also saw many days with wider temperature gradients from coastal to inland sites than I am used to.' As for the wines, they are superb. Among the 2017s, my impression is that the Pinots have a bit more potential than the Chardonnays. The Wendling in particular is shaping up to be a real gem. The bottled 2016s have turned out as I had expected." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder, California

"Loaded with character and energy, this version reveals heavy notes of zesty sweet bay leaf and sassafras that infuse a core of steeped red currant and mulberry fruit, all carried by bright acidity and iron-laced tannins. The long finish pulls everything together, with the fruit, savory and mineral elements in harmony. Showing an old-school touch, this has a long life ahead. Best from 2025 through 2045. 4,000 cases made."

Mindego Ridge Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Santa Cruz Mountains, California

"The 2018 Pinot Noir is magnificent. Rich, deep and powerful, with tremendous resonance, the 2018 is positively stellar. A range of floral and savory notes develop in the glass, adding myriad layers of nuance in a Pinot that marries intensity with translucence. Sweet dark cherry, mint, sage, rose petal and blood orange build into the stunning finish. The 2018 is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Mindego Ridge. I was simply blown away by these wines from Mindego Ridge and proprietors David and Stacey Gollnick. But I was not entirely surprised, given the stratospheric level winemaker Ehren Jordan achieved at his own Failla label and the strength of the vintage in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The 2018s are truly magical wines that speak with such eloquence as to the potential, character and world-class pedigree of this site." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Opus One 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Malbec from Napa Valley, California

"A fist of late summer cherries, raspberry and bilberry fruits set out their stall, all with the juicy character that confirms, even in a hot vintage like 2017, Opus can deliver balance and sculpted elegance. Beautiful grip, creamy texture with a strikingly powerful tannic frame. As the wine stays in the glass the floral aromatics begin to bloom up. A brilliant Opus. 20 days maceration - around half what it would have been a decade ago. 54% native yeast, as part of their native yeast project. 5% Merlot and 1% Malbec complete the blend." 96 Jane Anson, Decanter Magazine

Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia Highlands, California

"The 2021 Pinot Noir is outrageously beautiful. A vivid, sweeping wine, the 2021 captures all the best qualities of this rugged site. Blue/black fruit, cloves, licorice, menthol, lavender and chocolate all build effortlessly, amplified by the wine's natural intensity and volume. The 2021 is a big, rich wine, but it is also not overdone in any way. Jeff and Mark Pisoni blend their estate Pinot using blocks from the five main soil types found across the property. This is quintessential Pisoni" 96, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, Oct 2023

Sean Thackrey Proprietary Red Orion Rossi Vineyard 2016, 0.75L
from St. Helena, California

"Lastly, the 2016 Orion comes from a single vineyard and is a field blend (the blend isn't specified) from vines planted in 1905. It's a gorgeous effort with a semi-opaque ruby/purple color as well as a smorgasbord-like array of red, blue, and black fruits, toasted spices, candied orange, herbes de Provence, and tobacco. Deep, layered, and full-bodied on the palate, it has remarkable purity of fruit, velvety tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish." 96, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label is built around a core of fruit from Leopoldina, with about 30% of the fruit from Fortuna. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and spice build in a potent, explosive Cabernet that hits all the right notes. In 2019, the Black Label is a real head turner. The flamboyant style offers tons of immediacy that will make the 2019 pretty hard to resist right out of the gate."

Tyler Mae Estate Pinot Noir CP 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, California

"The 2020 Pinot Noir Mae Estate CP has a medium ruby-purple color and lush pomegranate and raspberry streaked with iron, pepper, charcuterie, mushrooms and dark spices from its maturation in 100% new French oak. Medium-bodied, it has dusty tannins, seamless freshness, soft waves of perfumed fruits and a very long, spicy finish." 96 Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate

"The 2020 Pinot Noir Mae Estate Vineyard CP is a six barrel blend of the best lots in the cellar. Dark fruit, spice, earthiness and imposing tannins are the signatures. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2020 for at least few years. Today, it is pretty brutish, and yet there is good depth lurking beneath those potent tannins and structure. Justin Willett [of Tyler Winery] continues to make big moves. Willett recently purchased the iconic Fiddlestix vineyard and is now setting up a new base of operations at his Mae Estate vineyard." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Paul Hobbs West Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, California

"The 2021 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast), a new wine in this range, is lights out. Rich, ample and bold, the 2021 races across palate with layers of purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and spice. A dollop of stems adds nuance, but without dominating the overall balance. There's terrific acidity and structure to play off the natural fruit richness that is such a distinctive attribute of the best sites in the appellation." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, Dec 2022
