Altos Las Hormigas Malbec Gualtallary 2019, 0.75L
Malbec from Gualtallary, Mendoza
"The 2019 Malbec Appellation Gualtallary comes from specific soils, two small three-hectare plots in the Cerros del Jaboncillo, where they find more caliche and limestone in Tupungato Winelands. They believe this place transmits the maximum expression of limestone to Malbec, giving a structured wine with fine-grained tannins with the wilderness from Gualtallary. It fermented in small concrete vats with indigenous yeasts at some 26 degrees Celsius for 20 days. Eighty-five percent of the volume matured in untoasted 3,500-liter French oak foudres for 20 months while the rest was kept in concrete. They sell it a little later than the Altamira because they feel Gualtallary needs a little more time in bottle; therefore, they are now offering the 2019 vintage, a very balanced wine that talks about the place where it was born. This is vibrant and expressive, with a complex nose and especially a lively palate with effervescent acidity and very fine-boned with elegant but firm tannins (they say "Serralunga-like" tannins). I find the recurring iron-like note of blood and fresh meat here too, intermixed with the wild flowers, herbs and spices. This has depth and complexity, and if Altamira is Barbaresco, Gualtallary is Barolo... 10,000 bottles were filled in January 2022." 97 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Altos las Hormigas Appellation Paraje Altamira Malbec 2019 2019, 0.75L
Malbec from Altamira, Mendoza
"The 2019 Malbec Appellation Paraje Altamira is made with grapes from the eponymous Uco Valley GI and aged for 18 months in untoasted foudres. A rich violet in hue. The subtle, clean and austere nose offers notes of plum and cherry along with violet and herb aromas against a cedar backdrop. In the mouth, the core is provided by a juicy freshness while the texture is chalky. A little reactive grip makes for a compact, nimble and linear flow that guarantees it will grow in the bottle. Fresh grapes appear at the back of the throat enhanced by the tannins. Keep for a while before drinking to allow its subtle character to develop properly." 94 Points,

Schloss Gobelsburg Kammern Gruner Veltliner Ried Lamm 1 OTW 2019, 0.75L
Gruner Veltliner from Kamptal, Niederösterreich
"The intensely yellow-colored 2019 Kammern Ried Lamm 1ÖTW was vinified in new 50-hectoliter oak vats and aged on the fine lees until July 2020. The nose is clearly influenced by its crystalline subsoils and delivers a coolish-mineral, flinty tone next to the perfectly ripe, elegant and finely concentrated white fruit that is discreet and refined like green tea. On the palate, this is a rich, piquant, very elegant, highly refined and persistently salty Veltliner that develops an enormously long and complex, finely tannic and sustainably structured finish. This is a great, very promising wine that assembles everything in the starting block to go a long distance. 13.5% alcohol. Tasted at Schloss Gobelsburg in June 2021." 96 Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Alex Foillard Cote de Brouilly 2019 2019, 0.75L
Gamay from Côte de Brouilly, Beaujolais
"Light, vivid ruby. Vibrant red fruit, floral and spice qualities on the mineral-inflected nose take on suggestions of incense and licorice as the wine stretches out. Sappy, incisive and pure, offering palate-staining raspberry, bitter cherry, floral pastille and rhubarb flavors that show a compelling blend of depth and vivacity. Closes very long and subtly chewy, with reverberating florality and polished tannins that come in late. That Foillard magic is clearly a hereditary thing." 94 points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Le Petit Ducru de Ducru Beaucaillou 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Julien, Bordeaux
"The 2019 Le Petit Ducru de Ducru Beaucaillou comes from 25 hectares on the western part of the appellation (10 hectares currently being re-planted) with declassified La Croix and Ducru Beaucaillou. It has a very focused bouquet of black fruit infused with graphite/pencil lead scents, a touch of brine emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture that belies a firm backbone. Quite stern at the moment – maybe it’s just closed up as the winter descends – but I admire its marine-tinged finish. Very fine." 92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Lynch-Bages 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Pauillac, Bordeaux
"The 2019 Château Lynch-Bages is stunningly good, and it's going to be interesting to compare this to the 2018 over the coming decades. Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, brought up in 75% new French oak, its dense purple hue is followed by an incredible bouquet of pure crème de cassis, freshly sharpened cedar pencil, spring flowers, smoke, and graphite, with an almost liqueur of rocks-like minerality. A massive, incredibly concentrated Lynch-Bages, Jean-Charles has hit a home run in the vintage, and this sensational wine has building, perfect tannins, insane purity, and a finish that won't quit. It has the purity, finesse, balance, and depth to offer pleasure not only today but to evolve for 40 to 50 years. Smart money will hide these for a good 7-8 years, but wow, what a wine. Bravo." 100 Jeb Dunnuck

Margaux 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Margaux, Bordeaux
"The 2019 Château Margaux is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, accounting for 37% of the crop. The alcohol came in at 13.9%, the IPT was 75, and the pH was 3.66. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose begins with intense scents of crushed blackberries, warm cassis and plum preserves before fanning out into a whole array of floral, exotic spice and earth scents: iris, red roses, star anise, cassis, tilled soil, moss-covered bark and black truffles, with an emerging waft of crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate quivers with energy, emitting loads of mineral sparks, featuring bold freshness and fantastically ripe, finely grained tannins to support the delicate, perfumed layers, finishing very long and wonderfully poised. The juxtaposition between the acidity and the richness in this Château Margaux is just extraordinary!"97-100 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate

Samion 2019, 0.75L
Merlot from Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux
Château Samion is the family domaine of Jean‐Claude Berrouet, the man who oversaw more than 40 vintages at the famed Château Petrus in Pomerol from 1964until his retirement in 2007. Together with his son Jean‐Françis, they produce a small amount of wine from their holdings in Lalande‐de‐Pomerol which total a scant1.2 hectares. The first vintage for Château Samion was in 1979 when they rented the vineyards, but since 1985 they have been owned by the Berrouet family and the vines are now an average of 45 years in age. There is but one wine made at Château Samion. The wine is made from 100% Merlot, and one will find it is made in the same manner and with the same exacting care as Château Petrus. The grapes are harvested by hand, and then vinified in concrete vats. Following the vinification, the wine is racked and aged for 20 months in 15% new French oak casks (225 liters). Importer Notes

Chardonnay from Saint-Véran, Burgundy
"The 2019 Saint-Véran Climat 'La Bonnode' Ovoïde is aged in concrete eggs for 12 months and six months in stainless steel vat. I actually discern more complexity on the nose compared to the regular cuvée with touches of white chocolate mixing with the yellow plum and orange zest, less menthol here. The palate is more tensile, lively and very focused - it seems to have more animation and energy on the finish. This is just sublime." 93 Neal Martin, Vinous

A firmly reduced nose reveals almost nothing except that the underlying fruit seems ripe. Otherwise there is both good verve and freshness to the delicious, round and rich medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by lemon-tinged acidity where a hint of citrus zest bitter arises. This lightly stony effort is quite good too and more classically styled. 90-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Cote de Nuits, Burgundy
"The Chapelle-Chambertin is permitted a slightly longer vinification at slightly lower temperatures than the other re wines. It is the first to eb picked and the last to be decanted out of the fermentation vats. It has paid dividends this year. The colour offers a wealth of exuberant deep purple. The nose too is joyous, making an immediate statement of ripe but delightful deep raspberry and succulent strawberry fruit. There is a wealth of fruit right across the palate then this same strong mineral acidity to finish. The fruit seems to darken (in a good way) in the glass. This is going to be pretty special." 94-97 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, Oct 2020
Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, strawberries and raspberries mingled with peonies and licorice, Ponsot's 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, concentrated mid-palate framed by ripe tannins and lively acids. Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Morey St. Denis, Burgundy
"A cool, pure and highly complex nose combines aromas of essence of plum liqueur, black cherry, violet, earth and plenty of spice components. The sense of refinement continues on the sleek, succulent and almost lacy mineral-driven and wonderfully textured medium weight flavors that deliver superb persistence on the exceptionally firm, beautifully balanced and youthfully austere finale. It's not all the time that Clos de la Roche is described as a wine of class but in 2019, this wine has that highly desirable attribute. *Don't Miss!*" 96 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2021
"Ponsot's 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes was picked in multiple passages, beginning with earlier-ripening massale selections on September 17, followed by the rest of the domaine's holdings on September 22–23. Wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet raspberries and plums mingled with licorice, peony and cinnamon, it's full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, with a rich core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. This is aging gracefully and underlines the additional precision Alex Abel has brought to Ponsot's winemaking in recent years." 96 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Dec 2022

On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and complex, with a rock solid core of fruit, excellent mineral drive and grip, a fine girdle of acidity and a long, youthful and beautifully balanced finish. Guillot-Broux Macon-Cruzille Beaumont Rouge 2019, 0.75L
Gamay from Mâcon-Cruzille, Burgundy
"From Gamay vines planted in 1978 in the coolest of the domaine's red wine parcels, the 2019 Mâcon-Cruzille Beaumont exhibits notions of red berries, warm spices, smoke, raw cocoa and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's deep and sapid, with powdery tannins and a long, floral finish. It was vinified without any destemming. As I wrote of its 2018 counterpart, this is a serious, inherently structured wine, so readers shouldn't be misled by the modest appellation into drinking it too soon: four or five years' bottle age will be richly rewarded." 92+ Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Laurent Ponsot Charmes-Chambertin Cuvee du Cypres 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Cote de Nuits, Burgundy
"From a parcel located in Charmes, down-slope from Chambertin, this is slightly backwards at present, with a bit of reduction, but behind these aromas there is plenty of sumptuous, bright red berry fruit. The texture is firm and fresh, with the grip and intensity to age well. Although it does not have the intensity or persistence of the Chambertin, it resembles it in its vibrant elegance and balance." 94 points, Decanter Magazine, Oct 2020
"Here the ripe and fresh nose derives more from the red side of the fruit spectrum while adding nuances of cherry liqueur, warm earth and underbrush. There is very good detail and subtle minerality to the dense and relatively muscular big-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced finale. Lignier Michelot Morey Saint Denis Vieilles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Morey St. Denis, Burgundy
"The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes contains 80% whole bunches. It has an opulent bouquet ... of dates and fig filtering through the black fruit but still fresh. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent red berry fruit laced with white pepper and bay leaf, opening up nicely on the finish that cruises along with a sprinkling of white pepper and cumin." 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous
"80% whole bunch. From Très Girard, Les Cognées and Chenevery. Rich deep purple with a much more concentrated fruit on the nose, lifted a little by the whole bunches. Plump dark fruit, spicy notes, fills the mouth out, slightly darker fruit than En la Rue de Vergy and will take a little longer." 91-93 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
"From a blend of Très Girard, Les Cognées and Chenevery; 80% whole cluster. This too is quite aromatically pretty with its ripe and fresh array of floral, spice and black currant that is laced with warm earth hints. There is excellent volume to the caressing yet powerful and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a robust, serious and youthfully austere finale that offers even better depth and persistence. Louis Chenu Savigny-lès-Beaune "Les Hauts Jarrons" 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Savigny-lès-Beaune, Burgundy
"The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Hauts-Jarrons 1er Cru comes from north-northeast- facing vines, whereas the domaine's others are south-facing. The soil is also slightly deeper and sandier here. This has the most floral bouquet, offering more red fruit and mineralité, and the best transparency of Pinoté among Chenu’s 2019s. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Cohesive and structured, leading to a vivid, slightly tart finish. This is a fantastic Savigny that may well end up at the top of my banded score." 91-93 Neal Marin, Vinous

de Montille Puligny Montrachet 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny Montrachet, Burgundy
"The majority of the fruit for this village Puligny is from a section of the Chalumeaux Premier Cru, that was declassified as village when a former owner brought in topsoil from outside the appellation in 1975. The bunches are lightly crushed and gently pressed, before being vinified in mostly old casks. The result has a beautiful, lemony fruit, with hints of flint and beeswax, plus a luxurious texture that splits the difference between opulence and racy finesse." 93 Points, Decanter Magazine

Domaine de l'Horizon Cotes Catalanes Blanc 2019, 0.75L
Macabeo / Grenache Gris / Grenache Blanc from Côtes Catalanes, Languedoc Roussillon
"The golden-yellow colored 2019 Domaine de l'Horizon Blanc opens intense and chalky on the concentrated and refreshing nose that reveals lemon zest notes intertwined with notes of crushed stones. Round, lush and intense on the palate, this is a rich, full-bodied and sustainable blend of Grenache Gris and Grenache Blanc with Macabeo. Aged for one year in smaller barrels, this mouth-filling and hedonistic wine reveals spectacular finesse and elegance with fine tannins and a persistent mineral structure. A superb white from Calce. Château de Fosse-Sèche Laurasie Rouge 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Saumur, Loire
"Darker in its ruby color, the 2019 Laurasie is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon from almost 20-year-old vines on the stony Jurassic plateau of Fosse-Sèche, where yields are not bigger than 20 hectoliters per hectare. This is fleshy and concentrated yet pure, fresh and elegant on the deep, terroir-driven and beautifully floral (violets) as well as graphitic nose that is absolutely distinctive in its delicate, pure and balanced style. Black and blue berries, dark cherries, green paprika, pencil lead and herbal, wet gravelly notes lead to a medium to full-bodied, highly elegant, refined and perfectly balanced palate that exhibits perfectly ripe, round and juicy fruit with a firm but ripe, very fine and elegant tannin/acidity complex. The finish of this concentrated red is tight, intense and spicy, showing black berry and chocolate as well as graphite and coal with dark cherry notes. Irresistible and, in 2019, possibly the finest wine from Fosse-Sèche. The wine was aged for 12 months in concrete eggs. Tasted in January 2021." 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Château de Fosse-Sèche Saumur Réserve du Pigeonnier 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur, Loire
From 60+-year-old vines yielding no more than 11 hectoliters per hectare, macerated for 20 days and aged in concrete eggs for 14 months, the 2019 Réserve du Pigeonnier offers a spectacular deep, ripe and intense, slightly toasty yet still pure, refined and floral-scented bouquet of raw meat, black berries, cherries, crushed stones, ivy and licorice intertwined with this unique elegant, iron-scented Fosse-Sèche note. Medium to full-bodied yet concentrated, round, intense and firm on the palate, this is a fresh, refined and elegant Cab Franc that is based on perfectly ripe and concentrated dark fruits and this nervy silex acidity of Fosse-Sèche. The finish is powerful yet always pure, mineral and refreshing. This is a noble red from Saumur, unfortunately declassified as Vin de France. 12% alcohol. 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

"The 2019 Les Caillardières is like a piece of beef cheek that needs softening up in the slow cooker; this is almost chewy. The 2019 is young and needs time in bottle to gain its mellow character. There are masses of concentration here in a medium bodied package with buckets of structure, line and length. A very impressive style, showing both variety and texture. Serge Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé Les Pentes 2019, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly Fumé, Loire
"The 2019 Pouilly-Fumé 'les Pentes' from the Dagueneau family is a lovely example of the vintage, offering ripe, pure fruit, good mineral undertow and lovely length on the palate. The bouquet delivers scents of sweet grapefruit, fresh lime, newly-mown grass, flinty minerality and a gently floral topnote. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a lovely core, sound acids and fine balance on the long, succulent and zesty finish. This does not have quite the cut one would expect in a racier vintage and hence, will probably age fairly briskly, but it will deliver tons of pleasure over the coming half dozen years. 2021-2027." 91 Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar

Bernard Burgaud Cote-Rotie 2019, 0.75L

"Saturated magenta. Powerful, mineral-driven red and blue fruit, candied violet, olive and exotic spice scents show fine definition and lift. Densely packed and energetic on the palate, offering intense, spice-accented bitter cherry, Chambord and blueberry flavors that open up with air. The blue fruit and floral notes drive an impressively long, finely detailed finish that's given grip by polished, steadily building tannins. 20% new oak." 94 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2022
"Closer in style to the 2018 than the 2017, the 2019 Cote Rotie is a big, rich, powerful Côte Rôtie that has loads of meaty, gamey black fruits, smoked herb, pepper, and chocolate-like aromas and flavors. With full-bodied richness, a round, layered texture, terrific tannins, and a great finish, it's a powerhouse yet traditional Côte Rôtie that will need 4-5 years to shed its baby fat yet evolve for 20+ years." 93-95 Jeb Dunnuck

This classy, spicy, already complex Crozes reveals a medium ruby/purple hue as well as textbook Northern Rhône notes of spiced red and black fruits, ground pepper, bouquet garni, and a touch of floral-like nuances. "A bigger, richer wine, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes has a similar style in its peppery garrigue, lavender, scorched earth, and licorice aromatics. It’s slightly darker fruited than the base cuvée and has a rock star of a mid-palate, building, sweet tannins, and a great finish. Domaine La Manarine Côtes-du-Rhône Plan de Dieu Les Terres Saintes 2019, 0.75L
Grenache from Côtes-du-Rhône, Rhône
"The prestige cuvée of Manarine is destined for aging and bears the name: “Terres Saintes”. It is produced from a selection of lower yielding old vines (average 55 years old). Gilles destems the entire harvest and uses cement tanks for fermentation. The “Terres Saintes” (structured as a “vin de garde”) benefits from a longer “cuvaison” of 30 days or more. During the “elevage” both red wines go through “delestage” and “remontage” (a technique whereby the tank is completely emptied and the wine pumped back into it on top of the layer of skins) to extract color and flavor. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine is racked into cement vats for aging but 20% of the “Terres Saintes” is also aged for 8 months in “demi-muids” (larger barrels of 600 liter size). The wine is bottled without filtration after a 24 month “elevage”." Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Vieilles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvèdre from Gigondas, Rhône
"Moving to the three Gigondas I was able to taste, the 2019 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes comes from a mix of terroirs on the lower plain, around the estate, and is mostly Grenache brought up in larger, very old foudre and concrete tanks. Deep purple/ruby hued, with a beautiful perfume of black raspberries, candied flowers, and sweet garrigue, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a silky texture, great tannins, and plenty of length on the finish. This is a more finesse-driven, silky, elegant wine than past vintages and it's going to drink nicely for over a decade." - 91-93 points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf du Pape 2019, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
"Beautiful violets, wildflowers, Asian spices, lavender, and Bing cherry fruits all soar from the glass of the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape. This full-bodied, beautifully textured, seamless 2019 brings the richness of the vintage while staying light on its feet, elegant, and perfectly balanced. While the acidity is quite low (I’m sure the pH is quite high), this will age on its balance and concentration. Hats off to Philippe Bravey for another singular Châteauneuf du Pape that readers will love to have in their cellars. As usual, the blend is 85% Grenache, with the balance other permitted varieties, brought up completely in tank. It can be drunk any time over the coming 15 years or more." 95 Points, JebDunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

Domaine de La Vieille Julienne Chateauneuf-du-Pape Réservé 2019, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah / Cinsault / Counoise from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
"Lastly, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Reserve is another magical wine, and I might have rated this cuvée a perfect score more than any other Southern Rhône. Unquestionably in the same realm as the 2017, 2016, 2010, 2005, 2003, and 2001, it has an incredible, full-bodied, massive style that somehow stays perfectly balanced, with flawless integration of its fruit, tannins, acidity, and alcohol. Lots of red, blue, and black fruits, loamy earth, Asian spice, licorice, and violet nuances emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, building yet polished tannins, and a great, great finish. It’s a sexier, more opulent wine than the Les Hauts-Lieux release yet has the same perfect tannins that are so rare to find in the vintage. This required at least 4-5 years of bottle age and will drink brilliantly for 20-25+ years." 100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

"Tasted out of bottle, the 2019 Gigondas is another gem and reminds me a little of the 2010, only with a touch more accessibility at this stage. Classic crème de cassis, sappy garrigue, pepper, and basil notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, pure, concentrated Gigondas revealing ripe tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. As with the 2020, the blend is 78% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 6% Cinsault, and 2% Mourvèdre that was destemmed and brought up in old foudre." 94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

Domaine du Gour de Chaulé Côtes du Rhône Cuvée de la Vigneronne 2019, 0.75L
Grenache from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône
."A small amount of Cotes du Rhone is produced from the vineyards owned by the estate in the communes of Vacqueyras and Violes. As with the more noble Gigondas, this cuvée is based almost exclusively on the Grenache grape (approximately 90% of the blend annually). It is vinified in a fashion similar to the Gigondas except that the elevage is less long. This is to say that there is an extended cuvaison with stems included, malolactic is done in cuve and the wine sees a brief stay in large foudres before being bottled eighteen months after harvest without fining or filtration." - Importer Notes, Rosenthal

La Font du Loup Le Puy Rolland Chateauneuf du Pape Vielles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah / Mourvèdre / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
"The smaller production 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Puy Rolland is all Grenache from sandy soils raised in foudre. It's slightly lighter hued compared to the other cuvées and offers a classic perfume of wild strawberries, iodine, violets, and Provençal spice. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, this is Grenache at its most feminine and elegant, with light tannins, a seamless, elegant texture, and outstanding length. It's going to benefit from just 2-3 years of bottle age but should evolve for 15 years on its balance, harmony, and purity. I continue to love these wines from the Bachas family, which come from a cool, sandy terroir on the northern slopes of the La Crau plateau. "From volcanic soils, the 2019 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling GG Alte Reben is beautifully clear, fresh and subtle on the precise and highly finessed bouquet of slate, iodine and herbal scents. The warm and elegant Riesling fruit intertwined with very fine herbal notes represents the very best of this exceptional grand cru in its original, much smaller size. Almost entirely sourced from the Urglück, this is a lush and intense, enormously powerful yet restrained and slatey Würzgarten GG with crystalline acidity that leads to a long, intense and still slightly astringent finish with refreshing lemon features. de Forville Barbaresco 2019, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont
"This is the standard-bearer for the estate. The vines are planted exclusively within the confines of Barbaresco and are scattered among various 'crus', including Rabaja and Pozzo. The average age of the vines is 35 years. After harvest, the juice is fermented in stainless steel for approximately two weeks; then the wine is racked into large oak 'botti' to age at least 18 additional months and frequently longer before being bottled. This wine is emblematic of the work done at the De Forville estate: the wine is rigorously traditional, marrying the finesse of Barbaresco with the alluring aromas and flavors of truffle, earth, berries, rose, tar and leather and carrying, most important of all, a backbone of sweet, dusty tannins that give length and breed." Eduardo Torres Acosta IGT Rosso Arenaria 2019, 0.75L
Nerello Mascalese from Terre Siciliane, Sicily
"The 2019 Nerello Mascalese Arenaria lifts from the glass with a dazzling bouquet of incense, dried violets, spiced tangerine and cherry pits. This is silky-smooth and elegant, with depths of red berries laced with lavender under an air of blue and purple florals. Tannins slowly build, creating a structured finish; yet there’s a pleasant inner sweetness that lingers and keeps me looking back to the glass. The 2019 Arenaria is simply stunning, and to think that this is the first vintage. This is from a half-hectare, north-facing parcel, just outside of the Etna zone, on Mt. Portella at 700 meters. However, the soils aren’t volcanic, but instead sub-marine sandstone with clay and quartz. I can’t wait to see what a few years of cellaring will add to this already beautiful wine." 93 Eric Guido, Vinous

Podere le Boncie Rosso di Toscana Chiesamonti 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Canaiolo from Toscana, Toscana
Giovanna Morganti is quickly becoming recognized as one of the best of the new generation of Tuscan winemakers. Her small estate is a mere three hectares and her only wine is called “Le Trame” (the intrigues) signifying the wheeling and dealing required to purchase the land. Giovanna’s father was a legendary oenologist who believed in Tuscan varietals long before the “flying consultants” identified this area as a profit center. Podere Le Boncie is situated in the hamlet of San Felice which itself is located a handful of minutes north of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern tier of the Chianti Classico zone.

Kofererhof Sylvaner R 2019, 0.75L
Sylvaner from Alto Adige Valle Isarco, Trentino Alto Adige Südtirol
"The 2019 Sylvaner R is deeper and richer than the 2020 beside it, with nuances of vanilla bean and dusty white flowers blossoming into crushed pears and hints of sweet spice. This impresses with the silkiest of textures that are cut by a laser-like core of bright acids and penetrating citrus tones. It all results in a long and stimulating finale with a salty flourish that goes on and on, further complemented by hints of candied lime that linger. Hold onto your seat when tasting because this is one of the top wines being made in Alto Adige today. Frankly stated, Günther Kerschbaumer of Köfererhof is currently making some of the best wines in Alto Adige today. Located in the Isarco River valley, this family-run operation is considered one of the smaller growers in the region, even with their 80,000-bottle production. While Kerschbaumer is fully aware of just how well his wines are being received, he remains completely humble. In fact, you're more likely to find him working in the vineyard before anywhere else. He oversees all practices throughout their six hectares of estate vines and five hectares of long-held, contracted parcels throughout the valley. All practices have been organic since before 1995, when the winery began bottling. Elevations range from 650 to 850 meters above sea level and all on steep, well-draining slopes. Kerschbaumer firmly believes that it’s the terroir that matters most, and as such the wines go through spontaneous fermentations, and nearly all of them are refined in stainless steel, with the exception of the Sylvaner R, where the wine matures in acacia wood casks. When tasting the Sylvaner R, you really taste the potential of this producer and the region as a whole. Check in on the wines of Köfererhof sooner rather than later because while there’s no talk of prices going up at this time, it’s only so long before this producer is truly discovered." 94+ Eric Guido, Vinous
"The Köfererhof 2019 Alto Adige Valle Isarco Sylvaner R is sharp and bright and held tightly together by a pretty limestone note of crushed stone. In addition to that mineral definition, you also get hints of tropical fruit, white peach and Golden Delicious apple. You might try this white with a bouillabaisse, from the South of France, or some other fish-stew recipe in your Rolodex." 93 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

"A rich yet well-defined white, with mingling floral, honey, apple and peach flavors. Complex and long, with an underlying mineral element from beginning to end. Drink now through 2027. 1,650 cases made." 92 Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator

Vinas Serranas El Canchorral 2019, 0.75L
Rufete from Castilla y León, Castilla y León
"The 2019 El Canchorral is a blend of Calabrés (Garnacha), Aragonés (Tempranillo), Verdejo Negro, Rufete Blanco, Palomino, Moscatel and other grapes planted 85 years ago on degraded pink granite soils. This is the only wine that ferments with 100% full clusters. It has a lot of white grapes and is more floral, with less alcohol (it's 13.5% even in this riper year), more acidity and a lower pH. It is more floral à la Fleury and very expressive, as they can use very low doses of sulfur in this wine given its higher natural acidity (possibly because of the white grapes). This comes from a very old vineyard, and the varieties feel very integrated and complement each other. It comes through as complex and nuanced, a little riper and showier than the 2018. The palate reflects the effect of the stems in the vinification a little. All of these single-vineyard wines matured in used oak barrels for some 15 months in 2019. Around 1,500 bottles were filled in May 2021." 94 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Celler Credo Miranius 2019, 0.75L
Xarel-lo from Penedés, Catalunya
"“Miranius”—which translates loosely into Catalan as “peers into nests” (a tribute to the foxes which sometimes roam their biodiverse vineyards looking for a snack)—is 100% Xarel-lo, in part from some of the estate’s younger vines, and in part from fruit purchased from a handful of biodynamically farming friends in the immediate area. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously in stainless steel, and the wine rests on its fine lees in steel for six months before being bottled with a non-sterile filtration and a minuscule dose of sulfur. “Miranius” displays the brisk, agile side of Xarel-lo, a variety whose relatively neutral fruit character allows for a powerful articulation of calcareous minerality. Xarel-lo’s naturally high acidity brings balance in this warm Mediterranean climate, and indeed this wine is bright, saline, and immensely refreshing, as well as a tremendous value." Guimaro Finca Meixeman Ribeira Sacra 2019, 0.75L
Mencia / Brancellao / Merenzao / Garnacha / Mouratón / Negreda / Sousón from Ribeira Sacra, Galicia
"The single-vineyard 2019 Finca Meixeman comes from one of their oldest vineyards, planted with a field blend of 80% Mencía and 20% Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha, Mouratón, Negreda and Sousón. It has an austere nose that benefitted from being in the glass for over one hour, so decanting in advance might be a good idea if you are going to pull the cork any time soon. It has subtle notes of violets and wild berries and herbs. It has 13% alcohol but, despite that, feels a little riper than the other 2019s, perhaps more approachable and gourmand. There are some 8,000 bottles. It was bottled in February 2021." 96 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Guimaro Ribeira Sacra A Ponte 2019, 0.75L
Mencia from Ribeira Sacra, Galicia
"The single-vineyard 2019 A Ponte was produced with grapes from vines planted in 2010, a vineyard that used to belong to the Guímaro family a long time ago that they had to buy again and replant. It's a blend of 30% Mencía and similar parts of Caíño, Merenzao, Brancellao and Sousón. All the grapes fermented together with 100% full clusters in closed troncoconic vats with a 50-day total maceration time and always matured in 500-liter barrels. It has less color and is rather light and ethereal compared to its siblings. All the 2019s are more closed than the 2020s, and the wines are more austere and, in general, have more depth and balance, with lower alcohol. This has 13% and a subtle nose of wild flowers and herbs, nuanced and complex. This is superb for such young vines. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2020." 95+ Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Bodega Mustiguillo Pago El Terrerazo Finca Terrerazo 2019, 0.75L
Bobal from El Terrerazo, Valencia
"... Fermented in 3,500- and 5,000-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts and a soft extraction, and it had an élevage in those containers of 18 months. There is a step up in precision here, quite noticeable when tasting it next to the 2018. It's subtle, elegant and insinuating. It was a very good vintage for this wine. In 2018, the vineyards suffered from hail, and the wine shows more clarity here, it's more transparent and pure, it has symmetry and very fine tannins. This has to be the finest Finca Terrerazo so far. 29,360 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021. They never stop at Mustiguillo." 94+, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Anthill Farms Cabernet Sauvignon Timbercrest Farms 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Dry Creek Valley, California
"Dark red/purple color. This Cabernet Sauvignon is sensual and nuanced, with tremendous textural finesse. Time in the glass brings out a range of black currant, dark blossoms, cedar, warm soil, and spice box aromas. Unlike many California Cabernets, the flavors are nuanced rather than obtuse. They span out across the palate effortlessly, making drinking now a joy with just a little air. Folded tannins and integrated acidity will allow the Timbercrest to easily age and improve for a decade or more. This is only the second vintage of this wine—the first from 2007 still sings when the cork is pulled. 13.8% abv." Producer Notes, Anthill Farms

Arietta Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant. Deep purple-hued, with incredible cassis and blueberry fruit as well as tobacco, graphite, damp earth, leather, and violets, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, layered, seamless texture, ultra-fine tannins, and a great, great finish. This tour de force is going to evolve gracefully for 30 years or more. It's one of the finest wines I've tasted from this estate."98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
"Arietta's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is outstanding. It will require a number of years to be at its most expressive and for the bouquet to fully open, but all of that potential is there. Deep, layered and so well balanced, the 2019 is impressive right out of the gate. There is so much to look forward to. Inky dark fruit and a whole range of cooler-climate mineral/savory notes typical of Coombsville punctuate the huge, redolent finish." 96 Points, Antonio Galloni

"Always a standout from this winning combination of site and producer, this is a 100% varietal vineyard-designate, from the cool landscape of Carneros. Rainier cherry, cassis and a dusting of baking spice highlight a seamless body of integrated tannin and oak, the wine offering power but also enduring elegance. While enjoyable now, it will benefit from further aging; enjoy best 2029–2039" 97, Wine Enthusiast
The 2019 Merlot Hudson Vineyards is packed with dark plum fruit, chocolate and a whole range of cool-climate savory notes that add complexity as well as nuance. "Translucent ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Los Alamos Vineyard, from the warmer, sandy Los Alamos region, was mostly destemmed (15% stems) and spent 18 months in 15% new barrels. A wonderful perfume of mulled cherries, baking spices, dried herbs, flowers, and forest floor gives way to a medium-bodied, ethereally styled, balanced, graceful Pinot Noir with light tannins and a great finish. Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California
"I remember standing at the press as the first squeeze from our first lot of Chardonnay in 2019 began to trickle into the pan…and thinking WOW. Even at 6am and at that stage – cold juice scarcely 2 hours removed from the vine – it was clear that the potential for an effusive, rich, complex wine was there. The excitement lasted scarcely 10 seconds before it was time to get to work; time to envision, time to make (irreversible) decisions, and time to act. Seeing the potential, the mosaic in our minds, is one thing. Being naturally curious and receptive to new, creative ideas is another. But it’s in the translation, the execution, and the eventual realization of what’s finally in the glass that’s the greatest challenge yet ultimately the most gratifying." Winemaker Notes

Cultivar Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from North Coast, California
"Luscious and enticing is the best way to introduce the latest bottling of our “Gold Label” Cabernet. Though the bright, brick color is more reminiscent of an aged Cabernet, the aromas of toasted oak, tobacco, and pepper are vibrant and young. On the palate, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon explodes with dark cherry, blueberry, root beer, and sarsaparilla, then finishes bright with flavors of exotic spices, cedar, and a hint of cassis. Beautiful tannins create a firm but opulent structure, while a quick aerating or decanting reveals even greater complexity. This medium bodied wine is built for pleasure and food. Go traditional with a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup or discover just how versatile this wine can be with black truffle fettuccini, bison meatloaf, or elk chops." Winery Notes

Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"Primarily from the Hardester Ranch in Pope Valley, with other major contributions from St. Helena, Soda Canyon and Glass Mountain, it's a medium to full-bodied effort, with bold flavors of cherries, cassis and cedar. It's easy, but not soft, nicely firm, with a long, silky-textured finish. Craig and Kathryn Hall Sacrashe-d onto the Napa Valley wine scene with the 1994 purchase of the Sacrashe property, at the eastern edge of the Rutherford AVA. Craig was a successful businessman; Kathryn's family had owned a vineyard in Mendocino when she was growing up. From 1997–2001, Kathryn served as U.S. ambassador to Austria, which put a brief hold on the couple's plans to expand their wine business, but in 2001, they purchased the property on Highway 29 that has become their signature attraction. Mike Reynolds came on board in 2002 as winemaker and has since been promoted to president; my extensive tasting visit was conducted with the winery's current vice president of winemaking, Megan Gunderson, who joined Hall in 2005 as an enologist." 90 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

Matthiasson Cabernet Sauvignon Village No. 3 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"Sometimes you just want an honest glass of Cabernet. Refreshing, flavorful, not too heavy, and not too light. A Cab for drinking at the table, not looking at in the cellar. And a Napa Cab that doesn’t break the bank. A “Village” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A bright lively wine with lots of flavor that is great with food. We blended a “table Cab” from delicious lots of our wine that didn’t quite make it into our Matthiasson Cabernet blend but that taste great together as a “Village” wine.
Village Cab No. 3 is a blend of wines from multiple vineyards throughout Napa Valley, from Rutherford down to Oak Knoll, all of which were organically farmed, fermented, and aged by us and us alone."

Newfound Gravels California 2019 2019, 0.75L
Grenache / Carignane from California, California
Sourcing
In 2019 we transitioned Gravels from a Grenache dominant wine to a 50/50 marriage of Grenache and Carignane. The Grenache was sourced entirely from the Cemetery Vineyard and the Carignane entirely from the Colombini Ranch. Both sites contain similar geology and are planted in (the simplest of terms) gravel. The Grenache and all of its perfume and elegance combined with the density and nerve of the Carignane were the perfect match for our second iteration of ‘Gravels’. Thirty days separated the picks - as the Grenache arrived toward the end of August with the Carignane completing our harvest as the final pick coming in at the end of September.
Vinification
When vinifying the wine our extraction techniques favored elegance over abundance. The lots were fermented separately but employed similar methods – 100% whole cluster, wild yeasts, one simple cap-wetting per day - spending up to 35 days in total on the skins. The Grenache was aged in one 2000L Austrian oval barrel, while the Carignane was aged in one 2000L French Foudré. A total of 14 months were spent in each vessel before assembly at which point the wines were racked, blended and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting
Deep black cherry, herbal sage brush, lavender and melon rind aromatics. That palate combines density and a snappy freshness that makes this bottling a versatile companion for any meal or occasion. Drink now or over the next five years.

Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvginon from Spring Mountain District, California
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a classy, sophisticated wine that shows the more restrained side of the year and this site. I imagine the 2019 will flesh out in time. Bright acids, red-toned fruit, dried herbs, mint and silky tannins convey finesse more than power. I especially admire the aromatics today. I can't wait to see how this ages." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
“The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a classic Togni wine, meant to be laid down for at least a decade and capable of aging well for 20 years beyond that in a cool cellar. Hints of green olive and thyme add savory nuance to the raspberry and cassis shadings on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is concentrated into a dense, streamlined shape that throws off waves of dusty tannins, buffered by hints of cedar and vanilla, with lingering cassis notes on the finish. Earlier this year, I was able to arrange a visit with Philip and Birgitta Togni. Now in their mid-90s, their daughter Lisa is largely running the show, but we spent some socially distanced time outside talking about their early days on Spring Mountain. Not surprisingly, the Glass fire was the first topic of conversation, as there were scorched tree trunks all around, and a crew of workers were cutting and removing dead and fallen trees. ‘Our neighbors [Lokoya] saved us,’ said Philip. It is an untold story of the recent fires in California, that in the wake of overstretched government-funded firefighting departments, private companies with deep pockets have had to contribute to the defense of their own properties—but they have also come to the aid of their neighbors. ‘We've been lucky to be here for 45 years,’ said Birgitta. The two of them have been in Napa since 1959, when Philip started working for Mayacamas. He later moved on to work for Chapellet—helping establish their vineyard on Pritchard Hill and making their legendary 1969 Cabernet Sauvignon—and Cuvaison, where he was working as winemaker, when, as Philip tells it, ‘Birgitta said, 'Let's not work for somebody else.' ‘ By 1981, they had purchased 25 acres on Spring Mountain and planted 4.5 acres—three of them devoted to Sauvignon Blanc, ‘for cashflow,’ said Philip. They made their first Cabernet in 1983 but replanted in 1985—most of their current vines date to then, a mix of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. ‘I made the '56 Château Lascombes,’ said Philip. ‘So, I mirrored that cépage.’ Lisa Togni, who has an MBA and worked harvests in Australia (twice) and at Léoville Barton, said, ‘So much of what we do here is similar to how things used to be done in the Médoc. If we can grow good grapes, the winemaking is easy.’ The vineyards now encompass a total of 10.5 acres, with two parcels that produce softer, less tannic wines, devoted to the production of Tanbark Hill. Yields are thinned to three tons per acre, never supplemented by outside fruit. But despite the small size of the estate, 10-ton fermenters are the norm. ‘We prefer the larger volume, for higher-temperature fermentations,’ said Lisa. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel, with about 40% new French oak. The family does plan to bottle 2020 wines this summer. ‘We picked well before the Glass fire,’ said Lisa. ‘We'd just pressed the day before.’ Later, we went down into the cellar to taste, still being careful to stay far apart—Philip sat on a stool about 30 feet away. We didn't look at barrel samples on this occasion, but we did taste the current releases (2019) and a couple of library releases that are made available to long-term customers. These remain benchmark mountain Cabernets, with decades of aging potential.” 95+ Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain District, California
"It's telling that even Togni's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill Vineyard—the early-drinking wine—needs a few years in the cellar. The barest hint of bell pepper accents bold cassis fruit and notes of wild thyme on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is fairly open and generous, with enough suppleness to suggest only five years of cellaring will be necessary. Classically styled, it's streamlined in shape and long on the finish, ending with mouthwatering acids and soft tannins." 92+ Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

Piedrasassi Syrah Rim Rock Vineyard 2019, 0.75L
Syrah from Arroyo Grande Valley, California
"The 2019 Syrah Rim Rock Vineyard is compelling, as this wine so often is. Bright acids and a touch of whole cluster savoriness lend energy to this decidedly taut, nervy coastal Syrah. Blood orange, exotic spice, lavender, black pepper and grilled herbs build into the long, articulate finish. (Drink between 2022-2031)"94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The fruit for this impressive wine come entirely from the Martinelli Charles Ranch three miles in from the coast. Nutty, full-bodied and earthy, it shows a youthful grip around the edges of its otherwise lush, complex and generous richness, with a mineral-like quality of slate and salt on the finish." 94 Points, Virginia Boone, Wine Enthusiast

Realm Cellars Proprietary Red The Tempest 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot from Napa Valley, California
"The 2019 The Tempest, Realm's Merlot based red, is not surprisingly, quite accessible. Super-ripe blackberry, cherry jam, sweet spice, licorice and new oak all flesh out as this succulent, hugely inviting wine shows off its considerable charm. The 2019 is a looker, that's for sure. The blend is Merlot from Realm Estate, Farella and Orchard, with Cabernet Sauvignon from Houyi." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"The 2019 The Tempest is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, mainly coming from cooler sights this year, including Farella vineyard in Coombsville, Oakville, Stag’s Leap Estate and Oak Knoll, with the portion of Cabernet Sauvignon all coming from Houyi vineyard on Pritchard Hill.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the nose offers gorgeous notes of baked blueberries, black cherries and mulberries with hints of menthol, dark chocolate and licorice. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, the mouth is packed with loads of spicy layers, while bright sparks of red fruit offer compelling energy, culminating with a long, perfumed finish. This is a wonderfully poised, polished Merlot." 95+ Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2019, 0.375L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Santa Cruz Mountains, California
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the estate Monte Bello Vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. Hitting 13.8% alcohol, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a brilliant perfume of blue fruits, scorched earth, tobacco leaf, and lead pencil. Beautifully balanced and medium to full-bodied, with building tannins, it's a seamless Cabernet Sauvignon that has some up-front appeal given its balance and elegance yet will benefit from 2-5 years of bottle age and, I suspect, have 20+ years of overall longevity. While many of these wines fall outside the “Central Coast,” I was able to taste a full lineup from Ridge and am happy to include these wines here. Going forward, the Sonoma releases will be covered by my colleague, Audrey Frick." 94+ Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate offers a hugely appealing mix of fruit richness married to the savory, structured style that is the Ridge signature. The 2019 is beautifully exotic, but natural without the volume of the Monte Bello. I imagine it will drink splendidly with minimal cellaring. Succulent red cherry, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and pomegranate. Ridge manages to pull off the impossible, which is to excel in both larger-volume, commercial bottlings while also offering a number of small production, niche wines that will appeal to the nerdiest of wine lovers .... There are a ton of compelling wines in this range beyond the obvious Geyserville, Lytton Springs and Monte Bello. The 2019 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch, Syrah Grenache Mataro Lytton Estate and Carignane Buchignani Ranch are all wines I would love to own." 92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"Distinctive, with a burst of singed vanilla and savory leading off, followed by dark plum and blackberry puree notes that stream through. Shows singed mesquite and a sanguine note as this unfolds. Sleek, tight-grained finish." 92 Wine Spectator

Round, sexy, full-bodied, and opulent, it has terrific aromatics of red and black currants, tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil shavings. Drink this hedonistic yet balanced, elegant beauty over the coming 10-12 years." 94 Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2019 TD-9 is silky, aromatic and perfumed. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, spice and rose petal all show a move towards more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon Lyndenhurst 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Helena, California
"This shows lots of chocolate and vanilla on the nose, together with ripe dark fruit and some wet earth. Floral undertones, too. Full-bodied and balanced with a meaty structure and ripe tannin. Yet, it’s easy to drink with a medium, fruity finish. Tight, dry and firm at the end. Modern and poised. Try from 2023." 94 Points, James Suckling
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lyndenhurst is composed of 77.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9.4% Cabernet Franc, 4.1% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot and 3.8% Malbec. Colète Merlot Black Vineyard Coombsville 2019, 0.75L
Merlot from Combsville, Napa Valley
"Colète is a Napa Valley merlot designed by Rajat Parr and Marie Vayron Ponsonnet. They find their inspiration in Pomerol, merlot’s defining place and where Marie happened to grow up! The best Pomerol merlots unite disparate characteristics—they are soft, round, and fleshy, yet also textured, structured, and sharp, with deep earthy flavors of plum, dark berries, and mineral. This vintage is sourced from a unique parcel located in Coombsville where the vines benefit from a cool marine air and well drained volcanic soils. In touch with the beauty of this vineyard, Colète 2019 shows balance between power and brightness, with a vivid and suave black fruit." Winery Notes

Cameron Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge Vineyard 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Dundee Hills, Oregon
“Cameron might not be a familiar name internationally speaking, however, certainly within Oregon and among cognoscenti, John-Paul Cameron is a bastion of artisanal winemaking when, around him, deluxe, state-of-the-art wineries are sprouting. Sure, these new arrivals unintentionally make Cameron's estate look a bit ‘shabby,’ but their wines are anything but. In some ways their ethos reminds me of Jean-François Coche... John-Paul was out doing the rounds when I visited, delivering his limited production wines directly to long-standing clients, apparently his favorite weekly chore. That again reminded me of Coche-Dury - a renowned producer whose loyalty remains with his longstanding customers. John-Paul does not appear concerned with pursuing high prices for his wine or creating a brand image. He just makes the wines in a simple manner and then delivers them to contented customers. I was met by assistant winemaker Tom Sivilli and their 17-year-old moggy that is still doing his bit by catching mice. There is no tasting room facility here and because they are so busy, they rarely accept visitors, so I tasted the small number of bottled wines up in the kitchen and then descended down to the barrel cellar to taste from barrel …. Tom opined that the 2014s will benefit from a little more ageing in barrel, more than the usual 11 months that the Oregon Pinot Noirs are given, and they will be bottled this coming August. I also asked Tom about their methodology towards picking: ’We don't pick on Brix,’ he explained. ‘We pick when the color is starting to bleed out of the skin and when the pH goes up. We go out into the vineyard, taste the seeds and the fruit. Usually we are early.’ John-Paul Cameron's wines comes highly recommended.” Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

Evening Land Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon
"Our Seven Springs Chardonnay is the backbone to all of the white wines that we make here at Evening Land Vineyards. Fruit for this estate wine comes from Burgundian clones rooted into a rockier section of our Seven Springs’ mid-slope, which we believe plays into the texture and final flavor profile of the wine. On the palate, flavors of yellow and green apples, white flower petals, lemon zest, cream, and hints of warm baking spice lead to a soft, palate-coating finish. For those skeptical of domestic Chardonnay, we promise that this satiny, terroir-reflective expression of the grape promises to please a variety of palates." Producer Notes, Evening Land Vineyards

Avennia Sauvignon Blanc Oliane 2019, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Yakima Valley, Washington
"Very pale, bright silver-yellow. Pungent yet subtle scents of grapefruit pith, gooseberry and minerals; smells bone-dry. Surprisingly silky and dense yet weightless on entry, then citrussy, dry and penetrating in the middle palate, with an almost metallic impression of minerality adding punch to the grapefruit, lemon and shiso leaf flavors; the wine's complexity reminded me of a top Loire Valley version. More austere than the 2018 a year ago but perhaps with even greater potential. The note of gooseberry repeats on the lingering, minerally back end, which avoids any phenolic dryness. Note that Chris Peterson made numerous vintages of the outstanding Chaleur Blanc Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon blend during his tenure at DeLille Cellars. (from Boushey and Red Willow vineyards; barrel-fermented with wild yeasts, then aged in 80% neutral oak and 20% concrete egg) (Drink between 2020-2025)" 92 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com
