Lassegue 2013, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from St. Emilion, Bordeaux
“It is in the most difficult vintages that you see the winemaker's hand; the length on this wine comes not from the depth of the fruit but from the gentle spicy notes of nutmeg and white pepper. Raspberry leaf and smoked earth comes through as things open. Helped in this vintage by the fact that the Seillans live on site at Serilhan, making it easier to treat at weekends, and this was a vintage when you certainly needed to do that” 90, Jane Anson, Decanter, May 2021

Lassegue 2020, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from St. Emilion, Bordeaux
“Wide, powdery, fine but firm tannins; a lovely density to this. Concentrated and intense, very straight and streamlined. Finessed and focused. Clearly powerful, the energy is apparent, but all the elements are kept quite tight and controlled, so you're not getting so much expansion or nuance necessarily. Still, well worked with clarity to the fruit and tannins. Wet stone, liquorice, toasted caramel all giving elements of wood but integrated and supportive. Feels like a sleeping giant, will be good in time, sleek and stylish.” 95, Georgina Hindle, Decanter, Feb 2023

Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune Clos de la Mousse 1er Cru 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Beaune, Burgundy
"Pretty and cool yet definitely ripe aromas reveal notes of various dark berries, violet and rose petal. The suave and seductively textured medium weight flavors possess very fine density while the youthfully austere and moderately firm finish makes clear that this will need at least a few years of bottle aging first." 90-92, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Apr 2022

Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault Les Clous 2022, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Meursault, Burgundy
“There is a lovely freshness to Bouchard's Meursault Les Clous 2022 that brings a marvellous balance and length to the wine. The initial attack boasts aromas of citrus and apricot, acacia flowers and a saline minerality. There is richness as well, with notes of marzipan as the wine opens up on the palate. The grapes are from a parcel of over eight hectares that average 300 metres elevation, planted in stony marl soils that hold enough water to avoid stress in the summer's heat.” 93, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, Oct 2023

The wine is made from nine parcels between the center of the village and the border with Premeaux, including Belle Croix, Les Fleurières, Les Brûlées, Les Chaliots, and others, all located down-slope from the premier cru band. Mongeard-Mugneret Fixin Vielle Vigne 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Fixin, Burgundy
.“Although full and generous at the same time, our Fixin "Fondemens" will surprise by its crimson and steady color. Its fruity nose reminds a red fruit coulis, and in mouth it will amaze by its greediness and its frankness characteristic of Pinot Noir. They have a good acid content and are endowed with a solidity and substance which places them among wines that are best laid down for a certain time. When young they possess animal aromas suggestive of pelts and musk. These are ample wines which develop their bouquet over time as they mature.” Producer notes

Delamotte Brut NV, 0.75L
from Champagne, Champagne
"Attractively chalky and biscuity nose, with some honey, apricots and lemon cream. It's balanced and focused, with very fine bubbles, a medium body and well-rounded finish. 60% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir and 5% meunier. Base wine from 2018 with 20% reserve wines from 2017 and 2016. Drink now." 91, James Suckling, Aug 2023
“The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut is especially charming, bursting with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, peach and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's a fleshy, giving wine that's ample and pliant, with a pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish.” 90, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Aug 2022

“Delicate and racy with sweet lime, white pear and green almond aromas up front, although there’s some lemon madeleine richness tucked into the fluffy, gentle mousse. Amirault 'Le Clos des Quarterons' Vieilles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil , Loire
“The 2019 Vieilles Vignes is not a single site wine but a blend of different old vines across the different parcels from 40-95 years old vines. It marks a step up in the range. It's a supple and well concentrated style with fine purity of fruit while the tannins are fine and chalky. It's a focused style with spice, delicate smoky notes and dark raspberry fruit. Delightfully handled tannins that coat the palate and make this one to drink over the medium term.” 92, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Aug 2022

Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2021, 0.75L
Rhône Blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône
“A deep, quite herbal expression, with liquorice and crushed blueberries to the cassis fruit. Full-bodied, powerfully fruited, dense and deep. Really mouthcoating, intense fruit. The tannins are ripe, fine and plentiful, all saturated in blackberry juice on a long finish. Certainly one of the more successful Châteauneufs this year. Will age well. A Mourvèdre-led expression of Beaucastel - it contains more than usual, at least 35% and probably more. Grenache and Cinsault fermented in cement, Syrah and Mourvèdre fermented in foudre.” 96, Matt Walls, Decanter, Oct 2022

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône 2022, 0.75L
Rhône Blend from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône
“Bottled at the beginning of July, the 2021 Côtes Du Rhône Coudoulet De Beaucastel shows the fresher, focused style of the vintage yet brings beautiful fruit. Red, blue, and black fruits, peppery herbs, and underbrush notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and a great finish. One of the stalwarts of the appellation, Château de Beaucastel continues to produce an incredible array of wines from their estate in the northwestern edge of the appellation. Looking at the vintages reviewed here, the 2022s are ripe, sexy wines that bring to mind 2019 or even 2009. The whites are absolutely brilliant, and while only tasted from barrel, the 2022s will certainly be incredible wines. The 2021s also showed well and possess more depth and density than most in the vintage. In general, Mourvèdre seemed more challenging in 2021, but you certainly wouldn’t have that impression after tasting at Beaucastel. The closest comparison here for the 2021s would be the 2008s, which are balanced, elegant wines that are still drinking beautifully today. The 2021s should be a step up in quality, although I suspect they will evolve along a similar trajectory. Lastly, the estate is wrapping up a massive renovation of the cellar that was built with sustainability front and center and will be using an evaporative cooling mechanism with stored rainwater.” 90, Jeb Dunnuck, Oct, 2023

Prinz zu Salm-Dalberg Riesling Felseneck Großes Gewächs 2015, 0.75L
Riesling from Nahe, Nahe
"A pleasant, albeit faint, fragrance of yellow fruit opens sensory proceedings. On the palate the Felseneck reflects the generosity of the vintage with quite a buttery expression and full body. Rather opulent style of Grosses Gewächs with ripe fruit and low acidity." 17, Michael Schmidt, Jancis Robinson, Aug 2016
“From 27-year-old vines on rare loamy green slate soils, the 2015 Wallhäuser Felseneck Riesling GG fermented and aged in stainless steel. It displays a very coolish and greenish rather than generously ripe fruit aroma on the nose, which is intermixed with flinty, crystalline aromas of milled rocks and indicates good concentration. On the palate, the wine is creamy textured and round, but bitter in the finish, a phenomena that I have also noticed at Gut Hermannsberg and sometimes in the Wonnegau. If this is due to a certain degree of stress and unripe phenolics, or if there are other reasons, I cannot say. At least I don't think it is something that will be oxidized away one day.” Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016
