Fichet Meursault Chevalieres 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Meursault, Burgundy

"The 2020 Meursault Les Chevalières has a reserved but focused nose, requiring some coaxing but delivering satisfying citrus peel and light lemon thyme aromas. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh with impressive weight and persistence on the finish, hints of lemon sherbet on the aftertaste. Excellent. (Drink between 2023-2035)"91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous

"Cool and airy aromas of mineral reduction, citrus and a floral whiff are trimmed in admirably discreet wood influence. There is both good richness and intense to the ultra-pure, even crystalline, flavors that conclude in a chiseled, long and balanced finale. This is a classic Chevalières with its almost aggressive minerality and refined mouthfeel. In a word, lovely." 90-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Jean-Philippe Fichet Meursault Le Tesson 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Meursault, Burgundy

"Here too there is a spicy character to the more floral if less citrusy aromas of essence of pear, apple and passion fruit. The equally elegant and pure medium-bodied flavors that possess more concentration and power on the gorgeously textured and impressively lengthy finale. This wonderfully stylish effort often rivals the Referts in quality and it appears that it will do the same in 2020. Excellent." 91-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Bereche et Fils Ay Grand Cru Extra Brut 2014, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Ay, Champagne

"The 2014 Champagne Grand Cru Ay is powerful and vinous. Composed of 80% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay, it is assertive with ripe red fruit, Mirabel plum, and yellow flowers. It displays more broadness and richness through the palate, with some tannic structure, and has a light phenolic feel, with orange pith and savory salinity. Drink 2023-2038." 94 Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck.com, Nov 2022

Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Sec 2021, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Loire

This 2021 Le Mont Sec fills the mouth with pear, pineapple, nectarine and violet flavors. There's a sense of seduction and succulence through the middle of this wine. The flint and the coolness of the site seem to bring a sense of tension and purpose through this wine, which seduces you then spits you out. Delightful fragrance and a mouthwatering, racy finish. 96 Points, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous

Domaine Huet Vouvray Petillant Brut 2017, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Loire

"The 2017 Vouvray Pétillant Brut from Domaine Huët is a lovely bottle. The bouquet is bright and focused, wafting from the glass in a mix of quince, dried flowers, chalky soil tones, a hint of menthol and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, young and racy, with a fine core, good soil signature, a lovely spine of acidity and a long, well-balanced, complex and quite dry finish. This wine always ages brilliantly and the 2017 will be another long-distance runner, but it is certainly already quite tasty out of the blocks." 92 John Gilman, View From The Cellar

Rene Rostaing Les Lezardes Syrah 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Rhodaniennes, Rhone

"Moving to the 2020s, this is an incredible vintage for Rostaing. The 2020 Vin De Pays Des Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lezardes comes from the same three parcels every year, and the 2020 has a great nose of juicy raspberry and blackberry-like fruits as well as peppery spice and sandalwood. This elegant, medium-bodied, balanced, character-filled Syrah is best enjoyed over the coming 4-5 years. Drink: 2022-2027." 90 Jeb Dunnuck, Jebdunnuck.com

Pedroni Lambrusco di Sorbara Rosato NV, 0.75L
Lambrusco from Lambrusco di Sorbara, Emilia Romagna

This particular wine is closer to a sparkling rosato, instead of the glass lambrusco which leans more to a sparkling red wine. It is fruit forward, refreshing, while not actively sweet the fruity aromas inspire a sweeter sensation. Perfect for a light aperitivo, brunch, or on its own at any time of day. Try it also with aged cheeses and pasta with ragù!

Giuseppe Mascarello Barbera d'Alba Scudetto 2019, 0.75L
Barbera from Barbera d'Alba, Piedmont

"100% Barbera grapes from the Perno hamlet in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, a wine that sees the light with the vinification at the end of September, from hand-selected grapes fermented with hat emerged for 12/14 days. Refines in oak barrels for a few months, depending on the vintage. It goes out to the public after three years from the harvest and holds up to 10/15 years in the cellars of fans all over the world."

"A supple red hallmarked by elegance and finesse, featuring rose, strawberry, cherry and accents of eucalyptus and mint, which ply the refined texture and structure. Balanced and persists on the fruit-filled aftertaste, where a mineral element emerges. Shows excellent length. Best from 2024 through 2042." 95 Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com

Nervi-Conterno Gattinara Vigna Molsino 2016, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Gattinara, Piedmont

"Tasted next to the Valferana, the 2016 Gattinara Vigna Molsino is much more nervous in feel. Iron, dried herbs, sweet dried cherry, mint, crushed rocks, white pepper and earthy notes give the Molsino a good deal of aromatic complexity to match its intense, saline-infused minerality. Today, though, the tannins and acids are almost overpowering. Readers will find an old-school, classically austere Gattinara that needs 10-15 years to be at its best. The 2016 is an absolute jewel of a wine, but it should be purchased only by readers with either very good genes are a ton of optimism regarding their own longevity." 96+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Calabretta Cala Cala Rosso NV, 0.75L

"Savory and soulful, this lithe red opens with earthy aromas of tilled earth, eucalyptus oil, blue flower, game and underbrush. A blend of multiple vintages of wine made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grown on Mount Etna, it offers ripe raspberry, orange-zest, baking-spice, saline, mineral and gamy notes. Descendientes de Palacios Corullon Bierzo 2020, 0.75L
Mencia from Bierzo, Bierzo

"I was blown away by the 2020 wines in barrel in June 2021 and found the 2020 Villa de Corullón very ready, open, expressive, floral and ethereal. It destroyed the idea I had of a warm and ripe 2020. Ricardo Pérez Palacios told me he was thinking of bottling the 2020s earlier, as they didn't need a long élevage, just nine or 10 months in barrel. The wine is pale, the palest Corullón ever, with 13.7% alcohol—perhaps the vines got blocked and didn't develop more color compounds or sugar. The wine makes me think of a red from Jura; it has a different profile and is more delicate, ethereal and full of light and energy. Pérez, who hates comparisons with other regions, couldn't stop saying that it felt like a Morey Saint Denis! It's all flowers and red fruit, with a lot of super fine tannins (the 2019 tannins are rougher) that are round and give it a velvety texture with no rusticity—elegant and balanced. There is a nice balance between tannin and acidity, something this has in common with the 2019, which makes the vintages quite unusual, because being warm, the wines show balance. Today, it feels more like Moncerbal than the Moncerbal bottling; nevertheless, Corullón is around 40% from Moncerbal. ... It has to be my favorite Corullón to date. 22,183 bottles and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in October 2021." 97 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Antidoto Ribera del Duero 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

"I also tasted an unbottled barrel sample of the 2020 Antídoto, a blend of 96% Tinto Fino and 4% Albillo that had a short maceration and has been in 600-liter oak barrels (only 5% of them new) since January 2021. It looks like a superb vintage for this wine that still shows the wild and faintly herbal side that makes me think of a Northern Rhône—juicy and very fine with chalky tannins and a dry and varietal finish. This is a little like 2018, approachable and understandable from early on. Volumes will grow in 2020." 92-93 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Dominio de Pingus Ribera del Duero PSI 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

"The unbottled sample of the 2020 PSI feels young, juicy, very fruit-driven and clean. 2020 was an unusual vintage, first of all because of COVID-19, but it was a year with lots of light, plenty of flowers and a beautiful spring. They were able to harvest quite early and finished two days before the abundant rains (except in Soria, which is a different story) that started on the 20th of September. In Ribera, there will be two different harvests: the wines before the rain and those from after. So, this is very healthy, aromatic and floral, with a spark of freshness but also ripe and round. It's going to be a crowd-pleaser. It has a bright ruby color, with some 10% Garnacha. It somehow has less Tempranillo character. Volumes are similar to 2019, with around 350,000 bottles that they expect to bottle around June 2022." 92-94 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Alegre Valgañón Rioja Blanco 2020, 0.75L
Viura / Grenache Blanc from Rioja, La Rioja

"The 2020 Rioja Blanco from Alegre Valgañón is composed from its customary blend of ninety percent Viura and ten percent Garnacha Blanco. The wine is bright and youthfully reticent today, but with some coaxing offers up a lovely bouquet of tart pear, lemon, white soil tones, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and impeccably balanced, with a fine core and soil undertow, lovely focus and bounce and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This is approachable today, but still very much a puppy and I would tuck it away in the cellar for five or six years and really let it blossom properly! Alegre Valgañón Rioja Tinto 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo / Grenache from Rioja, La Rioja

"The house red 2020 Tinto showed superbly. It's a blend of Tempranillo from the Obarenes Mountains (Sajazarra and Fonzaleche) with 20% Garnacha from Cárdenas on clay and some 5% white that has 14.2% alcohol but feels perfectly balanced and integrated. It has a serious, harmonious nose with complexity and depth but also youth. It has a soft and juicy texture with focused and clean flavors, finishing with an almost salty twist. Super tasty and easy to drink! Great value too. It matured in a mixture of 1,000- and 3,000-liter oak foudres and 225- and 500-liter barrels. 22,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2022." 93+ Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de Pecina Cosecha 2020, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Rioja Alta, La Rioja

"The 2020 regular bottling of Rioja from Señorío de P. Peciña is a lovely wine, offering up plenty of nicely ripe fruit and a fine underpinning of soil tones. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of black cherries, cigar wrapper, Rioja spice tones, a nice touch of soil and just a whisper of American oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and generous at the core, with good mineral drive and grip, moderate tannins and a long, juicy and very well-balanced finish. Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de Pecina Crianza 2015, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Rioja Alta, La Rioja

"They are convinced at the winery that the 2015 Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza is the best Crianza they have ever produced, which is often the case with the current vintage for sale... But I must admit that the wine was very impressively balanced, nuanced and complex. It has freshness and is approachable enough while showing Rioja character and integrated oak to appeal to a wide audience. It's ripe without excess, coming through as juicy and tasty. It spent two years in used American oak barrels." 92 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Rioja Senorio de Pecina Reserva 2014, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Rioja Alta, La Rioja

"The 2014 Rioja “Reserva” from Señorío de P. Peciña is another beautiful current release from this great bodegas. The wine is showing far more secondary complexity on the nose than the lovely 2015 Crianza bottling, wafting from the glass in an utterly refined blend of cherries, raspberries, cigar smoke, salty soil tones, cloves, allspice, incipient nutskin and a lovely foundation of coconutty American oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and already nicely velvety, with a sappy core of fruit, lovely mineral undertow, suave, mellowing tannins and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. Great juice. (Drink between 2022-2065)" 93+, John Gilman, View from the Cellar

Bodegas Olivares Altos de la Hoya Monastrell 2020, 0.75L
Mourvedre from Jumilla, Murcia

"I was less taken by the oak in the 2020 Altos de la Hoya, produced in a more commercial and mainstream way from ungrafted old Monastrell vines. But there's good fruit and depth here, a medium to full-bodied palate and fine-grained tannins, and the wine has the stuffing and balance to overcome the creamy oak with some more time in bottle. It matured in a mixture of oak vats and barrels for some six to eight months." 90+ Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate
