Moulin d'Issan Bordeaux 2022 Link to the wine: https://www.winex.com/moulin-d-issan-bordeaux-2022-pre-arrival.html Join our Daily Email Offer List: https://cdn.forms-content.sg-form.com/f3da488a-d10b-11ee-94a3-62718bdc6118 Some of the greatest values in Bordeaux exist because of nothing more than a line on a map. Or in this case... A road. The 2022 Moulin d'Issan is produced by the same team behind Château d'Issan, the historic Third Growth estate in Margaux whose wines routinely sell for three to four times the price. The difference? These vineyards sit just across the road, outside the official Margaux appellation, and are therefore labeled simply as Bordeaux Supérieur. Think about that for a second. The farming is the same. The philosophy is the same. The winemaking is the same. Only the address changed. That's exactly why wines like this exist. Owned by the Cruse family, Château d'Issan is one of Bordeaux's oldest estates, with a history stretching back to the 12th century. Today, under Emmanuel Cruse, the château continues to produce some of Margaux's most elegant and age-worthy wines, while applying that same attention to detail to Moulin d'Issan. The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and aged for 12 months in French oak, giving the wine a level of polish that's almost unheard of at this price. Then there's the vintage. The 2022 Bordeaux vintage has already earned a reputation as one of the modern era's most remarkable harvests. Despite an exceptionally warm growing season, the best wines somehow combine tremendous richness with freshness, energy, and precision. It's a combination that many Bordeaux veterans describe as almost impossible. You can taste it here. The wine is driven by Merlot with Cabernet providing backbone and structure. Black cherry, plum, cassis, violets, cedar, and subtle spice all come together in a wine that's generous without feeling heavy. There's real concentration, but also lift and vibrancy that keep every sip fresh. And then you see the price. $19.98. Honestly, it's hard to think of another Bordeaux at this price that offers this level of pedigree, craftsmanship, and vintage quality. Our customers have made every previous vintage of Moulin d'Issan a sellout. After tasting the 2022, we have a feeling this one will disappear even faster.
