After opening a bottle and getting completely floored, we had to bring it to you, because this is one of those wines that drinks like it costs triple. TSC2020 The winemaking team behind this is obsessed with terroir and detail, rebuilding old stone terraces by hand and farming a special site that functions like an amphitheater of clay over limestone, including prized blue clay. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, a perfect match for limestone, aged in 40% new French oak with the rest in older barrels. TSC2020 In the glass it’s vibrant and electric, with blue fruit, cocoa, fresh acidity, and big melting tannins. It’s still a baby but already in a sweet spot, and it will age 10 to 20 years easily. Scores are real here too, including 96/96/95 praise, yet we’re offering it at $34.98, and yes, it’s the best price in the country.
