"The 2009 was the very first vintage of Corton Les Perrières produced by Jean-Nicolas Méo. The wine is still quite youthful at age fourteen, but is showing fine progress towards an eventual blossoming. The bouquet is deep and complex, offering up scents of black cherries, dark berries, smoked meats, a fine base of dark soil tones that are just starting to hint at the autumnal elements to come, Corton spices and cedary new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and quite powerful in personality, with outstanding depth at the core, equally impressive backend mineral drive, ripe, chewy tannins and a long, complex and very well balanced finish. This is still fairly stern structurally, but it has outstanding potential. Just be patient."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Aloxe-Corton is a village AOC in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune, ringing the Corton hill and holding Premier Cru vineyards; it produces mostly firm, structured, earthy Pinot Noir reds built for medium-term aging.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
