"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is off the charts. Intensely aromatic, vibrant and pulsating with energy, the 2013 is absolutely majestic in its beauty. Graphite, crème de cassis, smoke, plums, bittersweet chocolate and spices build to a dramatic finish laced with violets, lavender, smoke, licorice and inky blue/purplish fruit. The tannins are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit, but they are there, along with veins of saline-infused minerality that give the wine much of its shape and overall feel. The 2013 is a total knock-out, but it won’t be ready to drink for many years. Over the last year, the 2013 has really grown. It is a dazzling effort from brothers Alex and Graeme MacDonald. Production is up to a whopping 227 cases."
