"The 2009 Vosne-Romanée AC is another absolutely captivating example of the vintage. Since the 1998 vintage I have bought a case of this lovely wine every year, but I do not believe I have yet tasted an example as stellar as this superb 2009. The gorgeous nose jumps from the glass in a vibrant blaze of red and black raspberries, beautiful minerality, raw cocoa, woodsmoke and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and rock solid at the core, with beautiful intensity, ripe tannins and really lovely length and grip on the bouncy and utterly suave finish. A beautiful villages."

2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
