94+ JG. "The 2009 Brouilly from Pierre-Marie Chermette is absolutely stunning and one of the great, great wines of this superb vintage. The wine weighs in at a cool thirteen percent alcohol and displays flawless ripeness and purity as it soars from the glass in a celestial blend of red and black cherries, sweet cranberries, a touch of dark chocolate, exquisite soil tones, fresh thyme, a touch of vinesmoke and a lovely topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and absolutely seamless, with flawless balance, a silky core of pure fruit, very tangy acids, modest, ripe tannins and laser-like focus on the very, very long and dancing finish. Brilliant wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jul/Aug 2010, Issue #28 |
