Lot #680. Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2018

Description: Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 99 RV.
"Extremely captivating with a deep and slightly austere sensory profile, Sassicaia 2018 shows complexity and tension in a Mediterranean aromatic framework, resulting from the splendid vintage in Bolgheri-Sassicaia. Hints of linden blend with notes of elderberry and coriander, setting the scene firmly and effectively. As the seconds pass in the glass, the wine evolves, demonstrating a rare, thoroughbred beauty with elegant and luxurious vivacity, including notes of walnut husk, green tea leaves, and shelled walnuts . . . . a layered wine alternating the opalescence of perfectly controlled, healthy reduction with Mediterranean herbs reminiscent of marjoram, oregano, and parsley. On the palate, the wine is delicate and persuasive and shows a perfect extraction of the polyphenolic components. The tannins are silky and in harmony . . . . centered and brilliant. It is precise and juicy with the grace of a young Bordeaux blend, consisting of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Immediately extraordinary . . ."
