90 JG. "The 1996 Chambertin “Clos de Bèze” from Domaine Duroché is a very pretty wine done in the slightly higher-toned style of the estate back in this era. The bouquet is bright, red fruity and complex, wafting from the glass in a mix of red plums, raspberries, lovely spice tones, mustard seed, a fine base of soil and spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, complex and very nicely balanced, with good focus and grip, tangy acids and fine length and grip on the still moderately tannic finish."
