Lot #26. Faiveley (Domaine) Chambertin-Clos de Bèze 1978

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93 AM.
"Moderate bricking but still a healthy ruby core. The cool and fully mature aromas display the initial hints of sous-bois, spice, animale and ample amounts of Gevrey earth that precede the delicious, powerful and deep broad-scaled flavors that are still vibrant and well-muscled while culminating in a mouth coating and wonderfully persistent finish. This has always been an impressive wine though this is the first bottle of it that I have seen in many a year. However, I am happy to report that well-stored bottles are alive and well and should continue to drink brilliantly for years to come." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, May 2008
Provenance: The Portuaire Cellar
Notes: 4 cm, nicked, lightly scuffed capsule, lightly nicked, lightly scuffed label.
