"The Brut MCIII (001.14), Moët’s new ultra high-end multi-vintage blend, is being released this year in magnum. MCIII is a blend based on 2003, with 40% 2002, 2000 and 1998 Grand Vintage wines aged specifically for this Champagne, plus about 20% 1999, 1998 and 1993 Grand Vintage wines taken from bottles that were opened and then added to the final blend. Given the natural richness of 2003 and the significant presence of older vintages, MCIII is a resonant, expansive Champagne built on texture and breadth. Orange peel, spice, apricot jam, baked pastry, honey, hazelnut and chamomile fill out the wine’s frame effortlessly, with gently oxidative, burnished overtones that add complexity."
