Fragrant and forward, this is an appealing Merlot with tart, raspberry fruit married to chocolatey oak. It's a high acid, rich tannin style, and the wine does a good job of scraping the palate clean. It would make a very nice match for an oily fish such as salmon or ahi. Young, tight, tart and very tannic at this stage of the game, it feels just a bit thin in the finish. Give it some serious breathing time.
