"It looks like at some stage the B-S wines just don't lose colour any further. This is a little more developed than the 2015 Riserva (with which it was tasted) but not by much. Deep balsamic nose with hints of dried cherry and with aeration perfumed fruit. Really deep and a little mysterious. Spice and hints of orange skin. Keeps on evolving and changing in the glass. Truly multi-layered and with the classic Biondi-Santi waxy cherry fruit. Vibrant acidity and then gorgeous cool cherry. Waxy hints and fantastic fine long tannins."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
