"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Jack’s Masterpiece, which is a blend from their finest vineyards, displays super-sweet tannins, an opaque purple color and beautiful crème de cassis, blueberry and blackberry fruit. Its flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol and its opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel make for a true elixir and fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now or cellar for 25-30 more years. I would still try to defer gratification for 2-3 years prior to drinking this big boy. It has three decades-plus of longevity. What follows is a look at the extensive portfolio of Kathryn Hall’s winery in Napa Valley. Included in this are eight wines that are in bottle and a glimpse at nine cuvées still in barrel from the 2015 vintage. Subscribers who have followed recent years of The Wine Advocate know that this is one of the most exciting producers in Napa Valley, having burst on the scene a short time ago and offering a brilliant array of Cabernet Sauvignons. As a post-script to subscribers, it’s time to jump on the Hall bandwagon, as they are doing everything right, and their wines are among the most exciting being made in the world today."
