"The 1982 vintage of Magdelaine gets better and better every time I come back to it and this is probably going to end up being the greatest wine produced at this estate between the 1961 and the 2005. Today, the ’82 is wide open and revels in its sappy goodness, offering up a beautiful aromatic combination of sappy cassis and black cherries, menthol, a very complex base of chalky soil tones, cigar ash and a lovely, almost autumnal topnote of bonfires. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very plush on the attack, with a great core and stunning transparency for a 1982. The finish si very, very long, with modest tannins, excellent complexity and a sense of elegance and refinement that borders on First Growth quality. A stunning wine that is now entering its apogee."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
