"The 2016 The Maiden showed brilliantly, and certainly, it’s not far off the grand vin. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it shows the purity, balance, and elegance that sets 2016 apart as well as beautiful complexity in its cassis-driven fruits and notes of leafy herbs, tobacco, tapenade, and spice. With silky tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish, it’s going to evolve for 20+ years or more."
