"This is the best Opus One that I have tried - an opulent, sumptuous wine with velvety tannins, gorgeous depth of fruit and a persistent finish. Flavours are ripe but still fresh and lively without any heaviness and the layers of black currant, cedar and sweet spices are incredibly attractive. It is still a very young wine and should remain youthful for a few decades easily."

Opus One is a Napa Valley estate in Oakville, founded as a joint venture between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Mouton, producing a single Bordeaux-style Cabernet-dominated red.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
