"I love this wine and it totally stands up today, as it has done every time I've tasted it recently - it's pretty much the most drinkable vintage in this lineup. It's so balanced and deliciously elegant yet fleshy, still youthful and full of black pepper and saffron spices. The juicy, elegant fruits are full of flavour and are very much in the signature of Rauzan Ségla. The smoky edge just gets better and better in the glass, and gives it that gulpable sapidity. Harvested 28 September to 11 October, giving a yield of 46hl/ha. 50% new oak."

The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
The Left Bank appellation prized for perfumed, silky and elegant Cabernet-based wines. Gravel soils yield claret of aromatic finesse and refinement.
