"Heady aromas of dried apricot, acacia honey and cinnamon are layered over a bed of botrytis. Unctuous and quite sweet, with a texture of baked peach, an almost honeyed glaze and subtle minerality underneath. Dense, lively and impressively long .... After the stunning collection that he presented last year, almost anything would appear anticlimactic, but these wines have more depth than first meets the eye. 'They are loaded with baby fat,' Egon Muller told me, 'and they will need time to show their true colors.' He was quick to add, 'and they have a lot more acidity than you would think.'
