". . . The estate is currently converting to organic. This is 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31.5% Merlot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc, vinified in wooden vats and cement tanks, then 18-24 months in French oak barriques. Georgie Hindle: Great clarity. Nice crunchy red fruits with mint notes and milk chocolate creaminess. So balanced and well delivered. A touch of wood spice gives the finish a piquance. Vincenzo Arnese: Fresh, pure nose – a complex mix of red fruits and plum, with integrated oak and lively structure. Elegant and linear, this shows potential but also evolution. Andy Howard MW: An intriguing wine, still quite reticent on the nose. Needs time. Dark berry fruit, plenty of spice and minty notes. Will blossom with a few more years in the bottle."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
Chateau Gruaud-Larose is a Second Growth estate in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, known for powerful, robust and richly structured Cabernet-based wines built for long cellaring.
2017 in Bordeaux was marked by damaging April frost that cut yields; unaffected vineyards made fresh, classically styled wines of moderate weight and charm, generally accessible early and best over the medium term.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
