"An intensely floral nose exhibits a striking panoply of aromas that include anise, red berries, soy, plum and rose petals. There is stunning intensity and simply terrific delineation to the mineral-driven and quite powerful flavors that explode on the palate staining and massively long finish. This usually takes a backseat to the Leroy Beaux Monts but not in 2009. Indeed when I commented upon this to Mme Leroy she told me that it's possible that this is the best Brûlées that she has ever made and I would concur."

2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
