"The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Hauts-Jarrons 1er Cru comes from north-northeast- facing vines, whereas the domaine's others are south-facing. The soil is also slightly deeper and sandier here. This has the most floral bouquet, offering more red fruit and mineralitĂŠ, and the best transparency of PinotĂŠ among Chenuâs 2019s. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Cohesive and structured, leading to a vivid, slightly tart finish. This is a fantastic Savigny that may well end up at the top of my banded score."
