"Slightly reduced and closed, though the nose soon gives way to hints of dried plum, sage, and sweet tobacco. Spicy, with notes of cinnamon and burnt mandarin peel. A slight hematic note completes the aromatic quality. Medium-full-bodied, fully melted, woven tannins, and an incredibly fine texture and a finish that is still lively and able to excite with every sip. An intense wine and a collectible masterpiece. A cold vintage that reveals its charm and elegance 24 years later. Exciting."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
