"Hints of salted caramel, clear sweet edge that gives a shot of pleasure on the attack. Tannins are still apparent, valiantly holding on. The silky structure seems to be defying gravity, hovering over the edge of the table, every now and then putting one toe down for balance as it tiptoes across your palate. Exceptional wine, not in perfect balance, the acidity is perhaps a little out of line, but the pleasure that this bestows more than makes up for it. The evening sun sinking behind a Tuscan farmhouse, the glowing embers of the day."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
