"The 2016 Volnay Champans 1er Cru has an engaging bouquet, very expressive with blackberry lead, bay and a touch of oyster shells. The palate has a grippy, slightly chalky texture, rather savory in style with a finely poised finish . . . . this is a finely crafted Volnay."
